That's my neighbour :) meaning Alpina, always passing by their factory...what a great car if you like kinda SUV´s thats one of the best. It's just too big for here. IT´s natural habitat is for sure the USA.
I love the Ametrin purple, it reminds me of Ferrari's Rosso Vinaccia. The bright work compliments it perfectly. The team at Alpina nailed it, these small touches to the exterior went a long way. Goes to show that you don't have to go over the top to make a vehicle stands out from its standard brethrens ... Looking at you Brabus.
Always prefer sedans to SUVs, but I'm prepared to make an exception in the case of the XB7. Heck, I even like the color (though would prefer the classic Alpina green)!
I absolutely love watching MotomanTV, your reviews are awesome! However, did anyone else notice the micro scratches in the paint finish from detailing? 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃
Still a practical boxy design and not the usual new BMW crap. I like that. And very exclusive, even in Germany. Not wanting to go to SF? I am totally with you here ;-)
Can you please elaborate on the reliability of the 48V electrical system ? PS : Thank you for the videos, I hope you fully recovered from the accident.
Discussed this concept in many Mercedes AMG XX53 episodes. The idea is less moving parts. No accessory drive (although the BMW and Land Rover versions of this system do have an accessory drive) as well as removing other components *may* improve long term reliability of these problem prone cars after 5 years. Intrigued to see how they hold up over the long term.
I currently own an E350 Mercedes Benz Estate Wagon...and it is time to let it go the way of all things totally worn out! I am vacillating between a new E63 AMG S Wagon and the BMW XB7 Alpina. Not similar at all, but both are exquisite examples of automotive genius. I like the exclusivity of the Alpina [and always have]...so its time to start saving some more pennies for a BMW, I guess.
Unfortunately, this doesn't come in Alpina Green. It comes in Alpina blue strangely.... BMW's Spartanburg facility is just expanding its paint services to include individual colors on their cars. I think its more of a production issue than a decision made by Alpina to not offer it. It could also be that the suppliers who source the alpina specific bumpers/ mirrors etc aren't willing to provide that color (because they're plastic, I assume they aren't painted on site with the cars. It might be that BMW's European plants have extended/ hand painted facilities for the individual neon greens and Ferrari reds customers can order their sedans in... Maybe the paint mix or QC isn't ready to deal with that at Spartanburg. I've been to the performance center and Spartanburg factory twice. Incredible experience to see a facility that produces 1,300+ cars daily
As a GLS AMG owner: price, features, & performance of the XB7 is directly matched to the GLS63. The Maybach is more precisely aimed at the Bentayga & Cullinan.
@@officesuperhero9611 I use it for kids, canoes, and fishing. It's the fastest shuttle car I could figure out. Solving old logging roads one downshift at a time. At 16, I was thankful for any car--I still feel that way.
@@DrChristopherAnthony Haha. I feel the same way. My GLE cost $82,000 for me, wife, and 7 year old daughter to go shopping. When I was 16, I was happy to get a 10-speed bicycle. LOL.
Mercedes still has best vents a/c. These 4 vents will not do it if you have a passenger. 2 ofthem are blocked by the steering wheel. Think someone else in the last 100 years would figure that out especially considering the hefty price tag.
There’s nothing odd about the color !...and how many BMWs do we see that are snooze fest silver, gray, white, black or blue 🥱😴? If the seats are getting stained, clean them 🤷🏽♂️! Who wants a basic economy box black interior when paying this amount of money 🤔
Those wheels are absolutely gorgeous
Literally, timeless. 🤭
Classic.
I remember when 0 -60 in 4 seconds was considered supercar territory
Even Kumo remembers that.
Alpina is a very underrated manufacturer
They indeed are.
I do not believe that they are underrated. Alpinas tend to fly under the radar, but they do have a very solid fan base.

Alpina colours are such amazing

I ordered one of these in Tanzanite Blue a few weeks ago. Very excited about it. Unique truck for sure. Mine came in at $151k MSRP.
I love my X7. We took it on the "Tail of the dragon" and was hauling ass, with the optional staggered 22" wheels. Excellent review!
I had to remove my 22s for 20 inch snow tires. I can't wait for it to heat up again. I have dhp and it makes the suv so much fun.
Always prefer sedans to SUVs, but I'm prepared to make an exception in the case of the XB7. Heck, I even like the color (though would prefer the classic Alpina green)!
Oh come on George, that purple is gorgeous!
👏🏽 It really is ! Every BMW that I see is always black, gray, silver, white or blue !
yes add a screen in the central console in the rear seats like the gls and the massage and ventilated seats in the rear seats.
Beautifull machine. Enjoyed the review.
p.s. Alpina is not a tunning company. It is considered a car manufacturer.

Great Job on this video. I learned allot.
You are giving us 3 reviews this week? How fast can you produce them, that's great :) what a treat.
No wishes to the wishlist from my side.
Yep.
Just love your narrative pal!! Excellent JOB!
Thank you, Francis.

Alpina engineering the cooling to run 150mph autobahn as standard without problems.
Hey pal, I just thumbed you up and subscribed too. Your analysis is very sharp, IMPECCABLE!! Outstanding job!!!
Honestly this animal has been trained for autobahn, not US highways! Great review!
All of that glorious bmw engine plastic
The green is a better fit, but I like the pseudo-purple
Looks brown on my cellphone, and as you know, seeing it in person changes everything. I have seen them in brown and white.

Excellent review as usual
MotoMan, when you make a suggestion . . . Everybody Listens! Thank you for your excellent presentation and knowledgeable commentary.
If that were the case, we'd all be driving 911 GT3 Tourings:)
I'd like my Alpina X B7 in Alpina Green, Thanks...I'm hoping you get to review a B5 Estate
Kumo agrees.
Last time I was on the Alpina car configuration tool I was not able to choose the Alpina green for the XB7. Only the Alpina blue was an option.
My favorite part of the Alpina XB7 is that it has real exhaust tips rather than the new imitation exhaust tips manufacturers have adopted lately.
Great, in-depth review Moto....thank you! Perfect suv in my opinion, outside of the Culinan....
I would definitely consider buying the XB7 over a GLS600. Beautiful design and much more exclusive.

In love with this
Great review. Hopefully, they'll keep physical buttons and knobs instead of completely touch screen.
Alpina green or bust
I'd take it in the classic blue. But I do like the green with the saddle tan interior
What’s the till ( cost ) on the Alpina. Looks bombs
339 miles to empty...my X7 shows 480 lol. Wish I had the Alpina tho!

4s for 2600kg is witchcraft.
I’m waiting for the new Alpina B8
This is the best and most in-depth review of the XB7 to date. Watch it for insight into the design and enhancements Alpina made to the base X7.
Pretty nice for a suv.
Little pricey
But the poiple looks nice.
I call this one the "Giant purple people eater".
Can you send it to me in Kenya
In terms of comparison to Mercedes, would this be comparable to the GLS AMG or Maybach GLS 600?
Maybach GLS. AMG is comparative to M models.

@@DrChristopherAnthony nice. Congratulations. I just bought a 2020 gle 450. Non AMG version. Yours must be super powerful.

Alpina is not a tuner, but its own manufacturer.
Respectfully disagree. Look at the what they do compared to the a full OEM. Not a dig, rather a statement of fact.
@@MotoManTV en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpina#:~:text=Alpina%20works%20closely%20with%20BMW,specialists%20which%20are%20aftermarket%20tuners.
They are just “registered” as a manufacturer, what they are doing makes them a tuner.
I would suggest less talking in the studio and more on the road about the vehicle.
Why would you not go over 155 mph? You just have to live in Germany;-) The Alpina sedans exceed 200mph these days. And they can.
$156,345 or 156 large

How can dios have a madre?
If this is very large, just wait until you learn what a suburban is.
lets be real, no one is taking this thing to the track. just get a corvette and a Chrysler Pacifica for the family.
Kinda what I would do - but it wouldn't be a Pacifica. Probably a Tahoe and a 992. Who knows, C8 instead. That episode coming very soon.
I will take mine once just for shits and giggles!
Looks like a Chinese knock off.
so eggplant color
Great information as usual but it’s a silly fast ugly vehicle in my opinion

horrendous color it is just discusting
