- What's it like on board the most expensive warship the Royal Navy has ever built?
After six months at sea, HMS Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the UK Carrier Strike Group 21 are homeward bound and hoping to arrive back in time for Christmas.
Hannah King (@FTVHan) and Sofie Cacoyannis (@sofiecacs) were treated to a tour below decks of the Navy's fleet flagship as she headed for one of her final stops before home.

Yeah, fantastic guy
he should get his own show
@Edward Longshanks 🙄 wow - Wouldn't want to think like you.

@Edward Longshanks Vile comment
People like auggy make the navy great. Need more like him
We need Auggy in charge of the F35 rain covers!!!
he used to work for my dad, hes now left queen elizabeth and is working as a recruitment officer
@@Jacky-so8gm funny how a rating can br a recruitment officer...
@@emmy9345 hes joined the recruitment divison
@@Jacky-so8gm i know what u meant just being cheeky
you'll be remember auggy, by everyone you made smile
There's always two types of shipmate you remember. The "Auggie" and the Arse!!!
What a great bunch. Auggy seems like a legend.
I’m proud to see our besties have two fantastic aircraft carriers again. Love to see our U.S. Marines embarked onboard Liz with y’all. Auggy is a wonderful representative for your Fleet.
I thought they were our US Marine Corps...the camera wasn't on them long. I spent 3 days aboard the HMS Amazon when it was in the States in 92. Great ship and crew !
@@baronedipiemonte3990 -Amazon! All I can picture is the Amazon logo on a ship!
Yup the USA closest allie and yet the USA is saying a trade deal is off the table until the UK puts the NHS on the cards. We fought side by side with the USA after 9/11 and stayed in Afghanistan until the very last day and top government officials turn around and demand the UK to give up its free health care system to go private like the USA where you go in a life time of debt for hospital bills and they even have the cheek to say they want a law to sue the UK government if if they try to step in and regulate the price if prescription drugs and amounts for hospital treatment.
The UK will never give up its nhs to have a system like the USA it got voted against 97% to not sell the NHS to private health care systems from the USA in the house of Lords and Parliament and yet the USA still won't give the UK a trade deal after promising to do so if we left the European Union. That's bad news!
@@baronedipiemonte3990 Yep, an F-35B squadron: VMFA-211, the Wake Island Avengers.
@@jonathanrice1070 Actually, it's a woman's head on the ships crest. And I don't know who "she" is...
Auggy is a legend, motivated me to get to work this morning through his energy!
@01:30 when a British sailor was cooler than the US Marines coming the other way.
What a great lad and what an attitude. BZ Auggy.
lol pretending that Africans are British 🤦♂️😂 yeah im sure if this guy did a 23 and me it would should that his ancestry is from the British isles
@@scottjohnstontheii9287 The guy is not 'African' he is from Grenada in the West Indies. It was in the film if you had paid attention. So he holds British Nationality.
You don't have to come from the British Isles to be a) British and b) serve in the Royal Navy.
@@1chish Thank you for pointing that out. Scott Johnston is clueless.
@@scottjohnstontheii9287 and typical thick scot has no idea where Grenada is and that he would hold duel nationality and therefore can joined royal navy
As an Airman, it's GREAT to see the cohesion of a perfectly well-oiled machine of top of the line sailors just doing their jobs with excellence. Really puts things in perspective and makes you appreciate the wonderful team you've got on your side, even from a different nation's perspective. Y'all are outstanding.
Auggy, What a character and a superb advert for anyone thinking of joining the modern navy. Give him a job with forces news, he'd be brilliant
OMG what an amazing young man Auggy is.. I'd be proud if he was my son.. The Royal Navy should be proud to have him and proud of the Royal Navy for training and giving these young people a fantastic career and future.. Well done to everyone xx 😊
Auggy is the kind of bloke that you seek out when you feel down or have a problem.
He’s just full of positivity! 👍
Auggy seems like the type of guy who makes your day alot better.
Reminds me, when I was in High School, had a lad from Grenada, Edgil! He was a quality lad and some good banter. Sadly he works in the merchant bank rather than onboard though!! What a character Auggy is need more like him on such a long tour!
Amazing work as always by the Senior Service!! Hoping and praying that all the ship's company will be home for Christmas
Should be in a retirement home.
Auggy...you are a joy to behold...have always loved people like you from the West Indies...so dedicated and committed to their work and who also bring a smile to everyone they come into contact with!

Forget about politics, war, any moral you may have, it is amazing the vibe, energy they spread. I admire soldiers from all countries that are willing to serve (or die) for whatever they will need to obey with no hesitation....
Still waiting for video of the amphibious F35... glad pilot got out. Give him a hug...
😅🤣
Sp Proud of You Guys and Gals And Great to see Such a Good Vibe Onboard
auggy is a cetified G. I'd love to be on deployment with a guy with that energy
He seems like a top lad. I like his attitude. We had a lad from Grenada on HMS Westminster, Kerry La Touche who had a similar positive personality. 👍
Our Navy and Personal looking vibrant and truly world class
Can only see good things for us 🇬🇧
Next Episode: Below the waves with an F35

"We're here in RAF Akrotiri, near where..."
Well if something ever happens to the queen elizabeth i'll damn sure be wondering if Auggy is allright!
I imagine the crew wakes up with a smile knowing Auggy is around somewhere ready to make cool comments.
Great video. Proud of all on board.
Auggy's great.
Shame about the F35 though. At least the pilot is safe. Bet they've got a right job cleaning that mess up though.
Love oggy.
No one has ever said "I like the morning watch" 🤣
That was great! Good to see some real characters without being sanitised too much
God Save The Queen. Long Live The Queen.

Auggy you are a credit to that uniform.
It seems all Augustines I've seen or met including myself have a good sense of humor.
Great stuff guys and girls, keep it up.
What the naval staff will learn with the technology on this ship alone. As well as seeing the world is worth serving on this ship.
Thank you for sharing great 👍
Brilliant fella
Bad Ass. Auggie is that dude with the vibe of a California Surfer. He's reppin the Royal Navy well!
At 2:11 - cue Jack Whitehall.
It is prouded that muilt-race environment able to work in a single army force👍
Nautical science on this ship is a very high standard.
I love this bloke
Are they those submersible jet fighters?
I’m not very good with aircraft recognition, so any help would great 👍🏻
Yes, these aircraft are able to remain underwater for years and years. It's a very advanced design.
I know of one particular F35 that's VERY below decks right now.....
blessings auggy 👊🏻
0:53 Our son. The Hit Man
Because when the on board Bar isn't enough you can Just stop of at you're local coffee Shop 😂😂
Auggy is the man and ive never even met him
Well now 1 less F-35
the meat on those pizza's looked a bit chunkier than Asda's own brand. I might join up.
So they just gonna ignore the fact that the ship just lost a $100m jet….
content was probably made before the jet was lost..
@@maxsuicide4767 Good point.
How about we also don't ignore the fact the F-35 had incredibility few losses compared to all previous aircraft programs, especially when compared with flight time.
The USN loses a few Hornets each year also. Attrition is normal. Wait for the official accident report.
@@FirstDagger US Marine Corps just lost another F-18 yesterday in California, and unfortunately the pilot didn't make it.
@@Gsmooth10455 ; Sad to hear. Thanks for the info.
Amazing!
This becomes an effective super carrier because of the F35. The UK's joint commitment to the development of the F35 was critical to the success of the Queen Elizabeth. The F-35 expanded the US carrier fleet by 8 ships. So there have been frequent questions about the F-35 it has greatly expanded the capabilities of non-catapult equipped carriers. The F-35 is a major upgrade to the Harrier given its stealth and supersonic capabilities and significant Electronic Warfare capabilities.
What happened to the F 35?
They lost a F35, hope every one is safe.
These planes can’t go against light weather how can they fight the Russians
@@r.p5380 Well they are operating at sea so your light weather statement is ridiculous
@@r.p5380 funny realizing now Russia can't actually go against much else either now can they.
Amazing proud to be British
I spent _a lot_ of my childhood on Invincible.
I've been really interested to see below decks on QE, to see whether the corridors were wider and higher.
They really are aren't they?
Jesus, I know _exactly_ what it smells like down there.
That's a really big NAAFI too.
I hope there's an open day one day, I wanna go poke around.
Jesus? Why do you call out his name?

Yes oggy..
oggy seems like a really nice guy
Make sure those F35s are BFd properly, and blanks are removed.
Commodore Auggy 😎😎
that starch shine on his uniform....cant beelive the forces are still obsessed with starch ironing
Auggy's a great lad
Below decks on a aircraft carrier. Also under a aircraft carrier an F35😂
When HMS QL was navigating through the Suez canal, was a local pilot allowed on board? As I think someone who isn't Royal Navy wouldn't be allowed on the bridge of such a ship?
I imagine a local pilot would be safer navigating through Suez than the oow!
They are absolute mandated. No pilot no transit through the canal - non negotiable.
@@normanboyes4983 Thanks :)
I don't know much about jet fighters but won't the one under water not be as good as the ones above water 😆
@Rob Wilton lol 😂
Home for Christmas minus 92 million quids worth of F35 😬
Thank goodness for the Commonwealth.
@Edward Longshanks then don’t play god and meddle with foreign nations and you won’t have to be associated with the
Best thing in the naffy is frute paste mentos and bisquits
Sadly 1 F35 is now in the Med, getting rather wet. Thankfully the pilot is safe!
@Rob Wilton The F-35 that crashed in the Mediterranean Sea was a British one however the cause for the crash is currently unknown. The pilot ejected safely tho.
I love aircraft carriers and F-35! So 😎
No UK F-35s - onboard?
i'm sure Auggy was in cool runnings
oggy is some boy
Auggy - from Augustine surname, not Oggy from Ozzytrailer...
Auggy what a gizza
Wonder how US Marines would rate the food and accommodation on Her Majesty’s aircraft carrier.
From what i have heard they like the fact that you can have beer on a RN ship.
Nutty from the NAAFI...! Oh the memories..... Bill Grooms MEM1 Ark Royal. LMEM Salisbury. LMEM Dundas.
So wait, warfare officers manoeuvre the ship?? I thought that was the seaman specialists?? did I get it wrong??
Does anyone know why US Marines are aboard a Royal Navy vessel?
6:09 Wait what do our F-35s have American flags on them?? I understand that their an American design as per Lockheed Martin but still. Or is that just footage of American aircraft in operation
Edit: nvm I paused the video again and notice American markings... They just recycled clips of other F-35s lol
There's a detachment of US Marine F-35Bs that have been on board the carrier during this deployment.
Out of the 18 F-35B's that were on board 10 of them were from the Marine Corps, and there was a total of 250 Marines on board.
we all need an Auggy in our lives.
40000 miles covered and only 1 100m dollar plane lost 😂
How do I drive a plane off the ramp?
soooooo, I guess the chicken coops are at the very bottom atop the keel ? ;)
Cool place to work
