- 'The Queen Visits Aircraft on Board HMS Queen Elizabeth Ahead of Carrier's First Deployment'
The Queen has met with crew on board HMS Queen Elizabeth to wish them well as they prepare for the aircraft carrier's first operational deployment.
Her Royal Highness was welcomed on board the ship at Portsmouth Naval Base by commanding officer Captain Angus Essenhigh, and Commodore Stephen Moorhouse, commander of the UK Carrier Strike Group (CSG).
The Queen was briefed on the ship’s 28-week deployment speaking with some of the 1,700 personnel on board the carrier which include Royal Navy sailors, Royal Air Force airmen and women, Royal Marines, and 250 United States personnel.

@@viorelgalan7913 Her Majesty is not 'paid', (have a look who's face is on the money) . Most of Her income is private, She and Charles even pay their taxes to themselves and donate that income to charity.
The 'income' is there to maintain our heritage and infrastructure, the Royal Forces, MI5, Mi6, etc Supporting the the Commonwealth, and places including Tower of London, Hampton Court, The Royal Collections, Cathedrals and some of the Royal Homes, but Her Majesty pays a great deal of the costs, when Windsor Castle was burned down, Her Majesty paid for the reconstruction out of Her own pocket, having turned down the government's offers of public funding .
The Royal Family has no say in Government dispensing of public funds. However, this may be subject to change, hence the hate campaigns to stall the next in line to the Throne, known to be outspoken on parliamentary decisions
All health professionals have Royal Patronage by choice. Royal College of Surgeons, Royal College of Psychiatrists, Royal college of Veterinary Surgeons, Physiotherapists and so on. The Royal College of Nursing hold the Royal Family in great esteem, it is a few years since I was part of the organisation, but I doubt they have lost their integrity.
Then there are the multiple charities, RSPC, WRVS, RSPCA, RNLI, RSPB, Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme ...
Other than in lockdown, the income to our own country far exceeds the personal income allocated to Senior Royals. The rest have private work the same as most of us.
Just sharing so criticisms can be more authentic, they have more impact that way. All the best!

@@Deebz270 you realise that the French, American and Germany republic offices of president/ chancellor cost between 7x and 30x times more. Before making assumptions on cost, do a little research. The treasury on average pocket £100m more from the crown estate (including estimated security costs) than the RF costs. So as a tax payer you’re in net profit. The monarch doesn’t have to sign that over, only by convention have they done so. However Charles maybe not take any funding from tax payers and choose to use the crown revenue as he has suggested in the past. Moan,moan, moan!!

Then you had the Romans who did the same on the other end of the same land mass. Most of costal Europe was settled by the vikings all the way down to the Mediterranean. The vikings settled in Normandy their ancestors invaded England in 1066 and settled their families a mix of viking and French across the country. Basicly everyone has spent the last few thousand years moving around the map interbreeding with each other. Pick almost any country you want and historicaly the population isn't solely from that country. Do you think the zulus always lived in Natal, no they moved around much of sub-saharan Africa and mixed with for example the Swazi and Xhosa population. I could go on with example after example and certainly for all of Europe, Asia and America the same would be true for every country and it's population. so calling a British person german is just as accurate as calling them Norwegian or French or Dutch it's pointless, yes the Queen has German ancestors as does every European royal family, all the Royal families in Europe married into each other it's how they kept power in the family, how some types of deals were done and how quite a lot of politics was carried out. So trying to insult her by calling her German is about as pointless as calling a German a roman ( Germany was part of the holy roman empire not to be confused with the roman empire) or calling a Russian a Mongolian. And yes her family had a German name that they changed but families have been doing that for thousands of years. You only have to look around somewhere like America to see that in the 40's italian and German families changed their names in the 60's and 70's it was Russian and Cuban families. It's something many families do when their ancestral links aren't popular like having a German name when your at war with Germany. But the Queen regardless of her ancestral name was born in Britain ( Mayfair in London to be precise) to parents who were British subjects one of whom also happened to be the king of England which makes her British not German.

It was an honour to work on the construction of this aircraft carrier 😁💪 what a feeling to see it go from steel sheets to a complete vessel with a visit from the queen.
It’s a superb engineering achievement and a testament to all those skilled people.

@@Cdr_Mansfield_Cumming thanks interesting I have learnt, I knew she wasn’t named after the current Queen and assumed it was after then WW2 Battleship. Personally I think they should have named one Ark Royal as beside the Armada defeating flagship there is long long tradition of an aircraft carrier called that going back to the first ‘carrier’ in WW1, the one with tremendous fighting record in WW2, the much loved IV which of course starred in Sailor and V who served the Royal Navy as Flagship for many years.
Prince of Wales struck me as a really odd choice in view of the rather unfortunate WW2 associations. There must have been a reason the Navy wanted to break the Ark tradition, don’t know what that was about? Association with cuts and lean times for the navy maybe as IV was used till she was knackered and not properly replaced and the V was part of the compromise through deck cruiser concept which fortunately with HMS Invincible proved just about big enough in the Falklands, but wasn’t the fleet carrier which the Navy really wanted and needed.

So happy to see Her Majesty being well and fully back in her duties. She understands well that millions of people experienced grief in much more difficult circumstances and that, at the end, she was very fortunate to have her husband by her side for 72 years ... even if the pain is still very deep and fresh.

I saw the Queen in Windhoek in 1991 or 92 when she came to welcome Namibia into the Commonwealth. I was part of a crowd that cheered her as she came past. It was a nice experience for an Englishman abroad.

She was a naval wife before being Queen. She describes the time she was the wife of a Royal Navy officer in Malta as the best days of her long life. The time when a young couple could be just in love and getting on with their lives.

Red and brilliant pink colors of clothing look particularly good on Her Majesty! (I don't know who designed the outfit, if it was Angela Kelly or not, but kudos to the designer of the dress and the hat. The queen looked lovely! The brooch she wore is quite distinctive, too.) It's nice to see the Queen out and about, in spite of still being in personal mourning. I know official mourning ended, but life goes on, she knows that, and she has had the life-long habit of putting duty and service to her kingdom above all else. That must take incredible mental and emotional fortitude (I don't know that many of us have the strength to do the same), and I admire her devotion and commitment to the vow of service she made to her people all those years ago. Three Cheers to Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, indeed...!

I think to reach the full potential of the ship - you'll see for a long time a US Marine F-35 squadron deploy with the RN. And that's awesome on multiple fronts. Anything that happens to that ship - and those Marines will serve as a tripwire to the wrath of the US.
It's a deployment of 250 US marines and 10 of their F35 fighters to go on the whole 6 month deployment with the ship as part of her crew. Literally shoulder to shoulder this time.
I think there's around 300 US service personnel on that ship. It's the first real joint task ship.

All this is what was taken away from her grandson, he lived this as he was in the forces. I liked him but unfortunately this life was taken from him by a conniving individual who doesn't give two hoots about anyone. Yes he was taken, he is not the first but he must take responsibility for his actions. Frankly since he left never seen him so miserable. No longer the smiling joking young man we were all use to seeing.

Sadly, in our declining years this is something we all go through. When she made a television address after Prince Philip had died my wife and I were shocked at just how much weight she had lost. Its not as if she had any to lose, she's always been a slim lady.
I just wish her the very best of health for the remaining years and pray they remain long!
I hope the weight loss isn’t something indicative of a decline, she’s been through a lot lately, between the loss of her husband and that ungrateful brat.
She is an inspirational role-model for us all. She has coped with so much but does not fall apart in public. God Bless her.
