Happy Wednesday Everyone!! I hope this gives you some clever budget friendly ideas you can use to spruce up your bathrooms!🏡👏 Would you try any of these in your home??
The ceiling idea is nice, but I would avoid wallpaper at all costs because of moisture’s ability to permeate the surface and cause peeling. It looks beautiful, but personally I would opt for a pop of color using paint 😊 Love your content!
@@madzabinga8382we just remodeled our old bathroom that had wallpaper on it from 50 years ago and it was not coming down anywhere. It definitely stays if done right.
I own a cleaning business and have many clients who have wallpaper. It is installed properly and removed properly. I've never seen an issue in all the times I helped remove it.
I bought two shower curtains and hung them higher per another video you did suggesting this. It changed the look of my bathroom majority. It made it look so much larger and lux.
Thank you for your great content and company Kristen! I am watching this as I sit with my sister while she receives her chemo treatment. She’s napping now so this was such a nice distraction for me. I’m sure you provide a ray of sunshine for many here. ❤
We painted our bathtub and shower tiles when we first moved in. It lasted around 7 yrs! Shower tiles we replaced but we had to repaint the bathtub. Still holding strong and cheaper than ripping out a bathtub.
I just got a regular runner, doesn't get moldy 🤷🏻♀️ you can still use a cotton bath mat when you shower and hang up over the tub if you're worried about getting the rug wet.
I love the idea of matching shampoo, conditioner, body wash bottles. I ordered a set off of Etsy - can't wait to use them! Thanks for all of these great upgrade ideas!
I was impressed by the creative ideas shared in the video, showcasing how simple changes can make a big difference in transforming the look and feel of a bathroom.
Its really game-changer for me in terms of sprucing up my bathroom on a budget. The DIY projects, such as painting cabinets or installing peel-and-stick tiles, were beginner-friendly
It's really smart! Many years ago we stayed in a hotel where the towels were white but they had 2 black hand towels, with a card saying to please use them for makeup removal. Just so clever.
I had no idea you could paint tile! Mind blown! The one change I'm going to make very soon is to switch out my individual rugs for a runner. Wow what a difference that makes.
Stumbled upon this video and found it incredibly practical. It offers easy-to-follow tips that anyone can use to upgrade their bathroom without breaking the bank. I'm excited to try out some of these budget-friendly hacks in my own home.
You look beautiful in your thrifted clothing, especially the black and white off-shoulder tailored top. Have to respond to the clothing portion since it was a big chunk (3 minutes) of the video.
Wow!!!! Thank you Kristen!!! Why have I never thought to put a large rug in my bathroom?!?! I have a fairly large bathroom and I never wanted to put bath mat rugs because I think they look tacky, but I never thought to put a rug in the bathroom in the same way I would another room. I can't wait to go shopping and see how it level ups the bathroom!!!! Thanks so much! I always get tips from you that I don't get on other channels. Love ya!❤
Grout Refresh is one of the most cost effective ways to make your tile bathroom floors look new again. Sold on Amazon and big box stores. I just did this, turned out great!!!
Thanks Kristen for the variety and quality of of your videos! They are not redundant like what is on some channels and that's why I keep watching yours. Best to you from San Diego County! ❤
I just wandered onto your channel. Im obsessed with it. So much is DYI. I love how down to earth you are. Simplicity with class. Thank you Kristen. P.S. Im a KRISTIN as well. You do an amazing job. Thanks for all the help!!!
Hi Kristen, I love your videos and everything about you! Thank you for this video. We are currently planning a budget friendly makeover of our small first floor guest bathroom/laundry room. We will be painting the walls, and now I am considering painting the floor. It is black granite tile and shows every speck of lint. We also want to wallpaper an accent wall. This video has given a lot of ideas and inspiration-great timing!!!
Thank you Kristen for these good tips. I’m going to change the grout color in my bathroom this season from a dark gray to a creamy off white, the floor tiles are creamy beige. It’s too much contrast.
These are all great ideas but I would love a video where you give tips that involve color. Or maybe a video about how to incorporate bold colors? So many of your videos are essentially telling people to neutralize their entire home and stay away from all color. You tend to use the word "colorful" in a negative connotation; and there are just so many creative ways to make your space beautiful while also being colorful and patterned and not having to make everything white, beige, and/or generally desaturated.
I just painted my ceiling white, walls dust bunny, cabinet stone‘s throw (these are the 2024 colors). New vinyl plank wood floor. New bathroom rugs and shower curtain. The bathroom looks great. It cost in total about $200
Hanging your shower curtains from the ceiling is not a good idea. There needs to be a gap between a curtain and a ceiling so that vapor doesn't condensate on the ceiling.
Another good thing about white towels/washcloths/hand towels? You can bleach them or use OxyClean to get them back to pristine white, no matter what happens to them. But the suggestion to use dark colored/black washcloths or hand towels when removing makeup is also brilliant because of the ability to hide stains.
I bought all white towels when I moved to Oklahoma. A fresh new start. I wasn’t prepared for the daily assault of red clay dirt! It’s so hard to wash out. I’ve somehow made it work but I shudder at the thought of buying white again.
I've been thinking of framing out my mirrors. I don't know how they're attached and am afraid of damaging the drywall. In addition, I've found changing out cabinet hardware is an inexpensive way to make a difference.
I'm just about to re-decorate my bathroom and going for a black and white theme. I love the idea of a black ceiling so having watched your vlog I think I'm going to go with that. Thanks for the tips Kristen!
I'm just so sick of white everything. I can't have a normal life if every speck of dust creates me cleaning that area nonstop. I changed to other neutrals and got an air cleaner for my apt. Much better now. I chose grey/black accents with some wood. Looks so much better to me. To each their own this is just me.😊 oh, definitely trying the matching bottles!
I love the look of white towels as a decorative item in my guest bathroom but I always have coloured towels for them and us to use, I just think using white towels all the time you really need to wash them daily to keep them looking nice and white looking in your bathroom, it’s just not a practical colour to use every day when showering, I keep a a basket of white towels in my guest bathroom with some blue hydrangeas in amongst the white to give a pop of colour and then I have pretty blue towels for guests to actually use.. I love the idea of a runner in the bathroom, I might have to look for something like that and not just a long bath mat, something with a bit of colour to it, my main guest bathroom is grey toned with tiles that go right to the ceiling, the only paint in there is the ceiling and it’s white and I have shutters on the window. Love your decor ideas, but I wish influencers wouldn’t say that Thred Up is the worlds biggest second hand online store, it might be in the USA 🇺🇸 but they’re not world wide…they don’t ship to Australia unfortunately..❤️❤️
Happy Wednesday Everyone!! I hope this gives you some clever budget friendly ideas you can use to spruce up your bathrooms!🏡👏 Would you try any of these in your home??
Help, tdup link does not work.
I’ve had wallpaper in bathrooms for years, with no peeling.
install a towel warmer or bidet it makes a huge difference, so does a shower tower and ambient lighting
@kristenmcgowen, what type of paint works on cultured marble?
The ceiling idea is nice, but I would avoid wallpaper at all costs because of moisture’s ability to permeate the surface and cause peeling. It looks beautiful, but personally I would opt for a pop of color using paint 😊 Love your content!
I think it depends on how you prep beforehand, and if there is adequate ventilation.
@@madzabinga8382we just remodeled our old bathroom that had wallpaper on it from 50 years ago and it was not coming down anywhere. It definitely stays if done right.
@@tonyaatteberryit never comes off easily when you want it to, right?!
Also, I have a vent and two potights in my bathroom ceiling. I'm not sure how good that would look with wallpaper around it.
I own a cleaning business and have many clients who have wallpaper. It is installed properly and removed properly. I've never seen an issue in all the times I helped remove it.
Ditching the typical bathroom rugs for a runner was a game changer, looks so much better!
I was not ready for a full on gut of the bathroom so I painted the cabinets and changed out the fixtures. Man, what a difference.
I bought two shower curtains and hung them higher per another video you did suggesting this. It changed the look of my bathroom majority. It made it look so much larger and lux.
The clear liner rod was in the middle, further down
Kind of made me go huh 🤔 and I think the curtain had those silver rings on them
Is it hard to open and close? I thought of it but I think it’s not as functional as regular height
@@rainacherienne1010 It's actually way more functional. It's easier to spread it open through the middle, Just part it with your hands.
I love the runner in the bathroom! Don’t know why I didn’t think of that. Great idea!
Thank you for your great content and company Kristen! I am watching this as I sit with my sister while she receives her chemo treatment. She’s napping now so this was such a nice distraction for me. I’m sure you provide a ray of sunshine for many here. ❤
Prayers for your sister 🙏🏼🙏🏼❤
Awwww thank you so much ❤️

Hihi, may I know what paint did u use for your shower tiles? I’m thinking of painting my kitchen tiles if possible. TIA
@@Joy-kg4iv I don't remember exactly. It was just tile and tub paint from Home Depot. Don't expect perfection but it did a really nice job
@@cs9134 thank you
The ceiling idea is brilliant. This is why I watch every vid ❤
Right, she gives such great ideas!!
Kristen that blue dress was STUNNING on you!
I love the idea of a rug in the bathroom. What material would be best so that it won't get moldy?
I just got a regular runner, doesn't get moldy 🤷🏻♀️ you can still use a cotton bath mat when you shower and hang up over the tub if you're worried about getting the rug wet.
Get one of those outside rugs. Think they're polypropylene, easily cleaned and choice of patterns.
Congrats on your upcoming wedding.
Really LOVE the bathroom refresh you did for your parents. Small space, big style!
Definitely adopting the coordinating bottles for shampoos, etc, runner for the bath and shower curtains ideas!
Its really game-changer for me in terms of sprucing up my bathroom on a budget. The DIY projects, such as painting cabinets or installing peel-and-stick tiles, were beginner-friendly
I love the darker towel idea 👍
It's really smart! Many years ago we stayed in a hotel where the towels were white but they had 2 black hand towels, with a card saying to please use them for makeup removal. Just so clever.
I had no idea you could paint tile! Mind blown! The one change I'm going to make very soon is to switch out my individual rugs for a runner. Wow what a difference that makes.
In my bed and breakfast I wallpapered the ceiling to several bathrooms. No problems with a good exhaust.

Your style is unique and elegant.
The tips and tricks shared were so easy to follow, and I love how affordable the upgrades are.
I'm not upgrading, but building new... thanks for so many great ideas to get me started out right. Appreciate all your videos!
I added a blue and white runner that spans the double sink vanity in the master bathroom. It looks great!
I love using white towels in the bathroom, and I use laundry detergent and bleach to wash them. They come out nicely.
I could really get my head around that ceiling idea, great idea!
I have a small turkish style rug in front of the bathroom sink and it adds so much to our builder grade bathroom 😊
As always, you offer fresh and useful ideas!
I like the double shower curtain idea
That shower curtain idea. Omg. ❤
You look beautiful in your thrifted clothing, especially the black and white off-shoulder tailored top. Have to respond to the clothing portion since it was a big chunk (3 minutes) of the video.
