I remember my Great-Grandfather restoring a 1961 Plymouth Fury, he passed away in 2018 and never finished the project and I promised that I will continue the car and hopefully make him happy and proud.
Good luck man. I'm trying to find a project car to restore with my dad. Something for both of us to be proud of. We've had a lot of awesome old cars but we always ended up having to sell them. We've never had the money to keep them. Maybe one day I'll be able to get his old mustang back. I'm pretty sure he only got to drive it a few times. It sat half taken apart in the garage for years. He never had the time or energy to finish it. Eventually we hit a rough spot and had to sell it. I'm going to try to do everything I can to get it back. But first I need to find out who currently owns it. And I need to get a job. And my license.
That deep rumble, the fins, the double headlights. I am truly jealous of this guy, that car is a work of fine art that will never cease to turn heads. I would love to own that piece of pure terror and beauty.
Christine was just misunderstood . With the proper amount of love and attention , she absolutely sparkled with joy and excitement ! I could be that guy .
Hey, Christine , rid the town of those losers who hated her owner. Any one like my self.who had bullies back in high school and such cheered her on when the car killed the car owners bane on the screen!.😜😜😜😜I can't believe the movie is from.1983. Where did time go?. A true hero/ villain car!.
After seeing the film Christine in the theatre many years ago in winter time Alberta, Canada my wife and I got into our car but it was better than 40 below that night and of course it wouldn't start. Indeed, it would hardly turn over. As a joke to my wife I spoke to the car and caressed the dashboard (not my Mrs.) asking her to not let me down as I loved her and saying I knew she'd start for me. My wife quite horrified by the film thought my humour unfunny but when I turned the key again the car started right up. My wife and I looked and each other wide eyed... I was very, very nice to that car after that. After all, "Hell hath no fury like a Plymouth scorned."
I always named my rides. Old faithful. Betsy. And many more. But never Christine. I love the movie. And I also loved vanishing point. Both dodge. And at the time I was rockin out in a javelin. 401. 4 speed. She was slick. Lol
I remember when we were young me and a friend were sometimes talking to our cars, also thouching the dash and say "come on girl you can do this"... when she didnt start, and plenty of times it then did start... we firmly believed our cars had a soul and feelings... and we had to treat her right.... not speeding when the motor was cold, etc... we sure had more feeling with our cars then, it was much more then transportation... it was more like a girlfriend...

How could anyone put a "thumbs down" to this video? What a lovely man who has unique history paralleling that of the film character - a fitting pair I would say. And the best bit... Christine is having seat belts fitted so he can share the car with his kids. Awesome.
I couldn’t agree with you more!! People can be so cruel and mean! Why? This man had a passion. Loved cars and now embracing it with his son. He even cries when he talks about his father. Nothing but true, good hearted person.

The '69 Dodge Challenger as a countryside muscle car So on and so forth. Hope future generations will love and appreciate the time you put into preserving your car. Christine needs to be admired.
Yea you're right on that, but lets say Christine was a villain. There aren't too many movies out there where I pull for the villain to get revenge on those shitters. =)
This video is one in a million. i cannot believe how much this parallels my own story. i always wanted a classic car, since i was young. After many summers and odd jobs, when i was 15 i bought my first car... a 4 door 1959 Plymouth Fury. I towed the car back from Ohio home to western Massachusetts. Good from far, but far from good. so many nights i spent in my garage, countless hours, stacks of service manuals, and a box of craftsman wrenches. I used to come home from school and no matter how terrible my day was, she was always happy to see me. Ive had my first date in that car, drive in movies, fishing trips, you name it. my senior pictures for the high school yearbook were taken with my car, and i wrote my college application essay about her, and i was accepted to my dream school with help from it. You can't drag me away from that car.
Lucky man you are I wish I had came from that generation that remembers their beautiful brand new muscle cars and just beautiful cars in general in high school and took care of them and got to be apart of the people who got a car that they knew would look beautiful when it’s fixed and work on it then show it to their friends but I’m stuck with the crappie modern cars and not till recently I saw a modern that looked somewhat decent but thankfully instead of a 1970 comaro going to my older brother I get it and is working to gain the right of driving it to school everyday and when I get some money work on the interior that had been redone cheaply and make it how it use to
By the way you worded this I would assume you kept your car. That is incredible, never let it go. I sold my first love many years ago and have no idea where she is now. 72 Chevelle I got for two hundred bucks in the early 90s. I put every last penny I had into that car and countless hours, but she got me where I needed to go and one day I figured it was time to sell it and move on to bigger and better things. I had some great Vehicles over the years, but I regret selling that car every single day of my life. Honestly, selling that car is the one thing I would change if I can go back in time. Hang on to her forever my friend, pass it on to the family when you're done
3 on the tree wasn't that uncommon in those days. A lot of people saved money by not ordering things like power assists and automatic transmission. Many cars had radio delete plates too.
Martin is a very lucky man. Not only for having perhaps one of the most desirable and hardest to find movie cars out there, but for having such an amazing story that is reflective of the book/movie to go with it. All that hard work, all that deserved praise, and moments that wouldn't even think possible, from meeting the cast to receiving so much filming pieces.
I fell in love with this car the 1st time I watched the movie. I was the kid in school who was picked on and nobody liked.. maybe some day I'll get to ride in one of these beautiful cars!
Seeing this car made up of all the spares from the ones they destroyed is weirdly beautiful. So glad this fan dedicated his life to preservation. The autographs are the icing on the cake. Stunning restoration.

I have wanted one of these ever since i saw the movie. Sadly i live in the UK and im flat broke so it remains just a dream. But thats a beautifull car. This guy did a great job.
hahahahahahah Frankly, as an auto mechanic for 40 years, I see all '58 Plymouths as fine machines built 60 years ago, and not as Freaks that are used to create Hollywood bull snot.
Those 2 stroke hemi conversions drive me insane:th-cam.com/video/1xjz1wwaNeI/w-d-xo.html. do this with a hemi and you will brab with insane power. the hemi is a 2 stroke potential motor
When you are just starting out from neutral, put it in 2nd gear (which has a synchronizer) which won't grind and will stop the input shaft, then go to low gear (it won't grind then) and then lift the clutch.
Almost EVERYTHING was pretty in the 1950's, from fashion to cars to homes to furniture. All of my furniture is Mid Century modern, sometimes I rock rolled up denim jeans with Penny loafers and I hope to someday own a '57 Bel Air or '58 Plymouth. Just say NO to the bland Wal Mart culture being pushed on us. PS: Your "Christine" is absolutely GORGEOUS!
I am a true fan of the movie, I find the car so beautiful!, and I want to say that I'm glad the car is in hands of a true fan who really appreciate!, take care of her, as Christine takes care of you!. Thanks for share!
Beautiful history... Beautiful Christine ! I love when people love their classics as much as Martin loves his Plymouth :) It's the same with my Chevy !
That is one of the best car stories I've ever heard in a long time.. very nice and super clean restoration i Luv it!!!!✌🏾..One Of the coolest iconic cars from the 70s✌🏾 Christine Lives!!
thomas allen no she doesn't, she's a poor quality union built piece of shit. The Honda Accord and Toyota Camry are two examples that are far superior to her.
Not in 1963. The 1957 that I had was a race car from New York that I bought in N.C.. I had to connect the two 4 barrel carbs and put new spark plugs in and a new left rear spring. After tuning it up it would just float down the road in the high 140s. It had a 150 speedo and the needle would go flat to the right and just quiver there. Smooth ride on 900x14s on the back and 700 -14s on the front. It was the ultimate go to the beach car. I took a hammer and an 8 inch metal screwdriver and chiselled through the top in front and the two posts in the back and I could stand up behind the front seat and pick up the roof and walk it off and sit it down leaning against a tree. Then I would go to the beach in a convertible.
I say that both Christine and Imports (though we shouldn’t be arguing over this, they’re completely different, one is a specific car with a specific model year, and one is just a name for any non-domestic car) are good in their own rights.
Just wanted to say, beautiful car beautiful guy, I hope she gives you and your family many years of enjoyment. We here in the UK used to watch all your tv shows mainly to see amazing automobiles, all gone now, please preserve what you can so future generations can marvel those wonderful vehicles.
This was really nice, and ended up being a very sweet and tender video. I love the fact that Martin is the exact opposite of the character in the book, despite having been treated in a similar fashion. If anything, it should be a hopeful message to people out there who deal with bullies. Just because you're bullied or made fun of, doesn't mean it has to define who and what you are. I love the fact that someone with such a kind heart got this car, and that she lives, and loves instead of hates..call me a romantic, call me sappy, but this is the way every great movie car story should end. Wow..between this, and the Back to the Future original time machine restoration project, two of my all time favorite cars now have good homes. ^_^
Ever since I saw the movie at 8, the belvedere and the fury (since both of the early models were practically the same) have always been one of my dream cars. Seeing this does two things. One, makes me jealous cuz man I wish I had that car. But two it inspires me to keep searching and thinking maybe I might find one after all, and shortly after seeing this I found an ad for one for sale. I just wanted to say it's an honor to see Christine back on the road again and thanks for taking your time restoring it.
6:11 I can tell how realistic this car is and it really is from the movie, remember when Arnie flew out the windshield crashing into Darrel’s little shack that opened the garage door?
The "Movie" had nothing to do with the actual car, a 1958 Plymouth with 350 cubic inch V8 and 2 Carter WCFB carburetors that were the heart and soul of the vehicle. The beautiful car stands on it's own merits, and is above the stupidity of Hollywood horse shit mind altering crap
The 1958 Plymouth Fury is awesome! I might buy one, of course not the exact one, but you can still buy these as they are still being sold to either be restored or to collectors. I love classics, and even more people who restore them!
Man, that car is so fine! Back in the days when you felt like you were really driving a work of art and craft. I mean, who really gets into their jelly mold of a car nowadays and get the same feeling we had with the glint of chrome and gazing out over a huge hood reflecting the world going by?
Mind you, in modern cars you have a much greater chance of emerging from a crash alive and even maybe uninjured. In the '50s, cars were death traps. Beautiful, but death traps.
@@DCM8828 but when your alive is great, it's like would you rather live for 100 years driving boring cars or drive a 50s cars and only live for 40 years
WOW what an amazing story. Thank you so much to the owner for saving her and for sharing his story, and to the AFICIONAUTO for making this and sharing it with everyone.
Touched my heart., I've loved Christine (Read the book and watched the movie around 8 years old, always have loved classic american and muscle cars) for years and years. I hope one day I will be able to have my own Christine and cruise around. I would take care of her so well.
Having watched this, being the third episode I watched on your channel, I must say you got just everything right. Please, please, PLEASE keep up your great work you do here. There is art, style, passion, love to be felt and experienced from everyone involved here, it is just so enjoyable. Just perfect storytelling in only about 7 min. Great Camera, great narration, great editing... And there are few to get me, draw me in and even make me shed a tear or two with a piece of film. You mentioned people often call you honoured and that you do not really like being called that. Maybe you can live with people calling you blessed. I would call you that, even me being not religious at all. Keep on keepin' on!
I would substitute the straight steering column with a safety steering system. Refurbish the push button automatic transmission. Install disc power brakes. Reinforce the cabin, floor, doors, pillars and roof. Add seat belts. Then, install analog air bags. You'll have a modern safety equipped version of the iconic Christine classic car.
The 1958 fury is the most beautiful and strong running lady on the on the roads. That is a very fortunate man but he deserves her. He brought her to life.
when he said "yes you're getting seatbelts" I honestly expected a wrech to fly up from the back of the garage and hit him in the back of the head, killing him.

Loved the movie and the star Christine. As I'm watching this video I recognize the scenery, this is Riverside Calif which is where I live. They are cruising beautiful Victoria Ave. and some of the shots are at the famous Mission Inn. Great story!
I had that dream too. but I was too choosey I wanted all of them until I met my husband and got engaged. He had a 1967 Chevy Malibu and I said to myself. "That's it! If any car was to be my most favorite in the whole wide world. It's going to be a Chevy Chevelle or a 1967 Chevy Malibu" and now I share a classic car that I love so much that I could almost promise myself that I'm living the same story as "The Love Bug" (i used to watch that movie over and over because it was my favorite movie as a kid)
Evil or not I don't care what anyone says about that car. To me that is a beautiful old Plymouth and every time it got crushed in the movie just about made me cry. To the man that now owns this fine old ride my hat is off to you sir! She is a beauty beyond compare.
I grew up watching this movie and going to car shows. Even though I'm an Oldsmobile aficionado I always thought Christine was one of the best looking cars in history.
This is my dream.I have that movie complete in my head.I was born 55 in 59 my parents traded in their 55 buick special 2 door hardtop for a new 59 fury. They kept it to 68.So I grew up in it learned to drive in it.

You're just appreciative to go along for the ride...👍👍

All of my furniture is Mid Century modern, sometimes I rock rolled up denim jeans with Penny loafers and I hope to someday own a '57 Bel Air or '58 Plymouth. Just say NO to the bland Wal Mart culture being pushed on us. PS: Your "Christine" is absolutely GORGEOUS!
It will come back
Your right , sir your bloody right. The 50s they had real cars , now of days it crap cars made out of toilet paper.
Elvis Presley there made out of damn plastic those cars were made to stand up to a crash they were 1/4 inch thick steel
Cars now all looke like electrict shavers.
Yes "Almost EVERYTHING was pretty in the 1950's
"Pretty Heavy" too!
97 shitters...Christine has some work to do..Great vid amazing car. She definitely went to the right owner!!
The most beautiful car ever made 👍. Saw this movie as a kid. Never loved any car so much.
Gorgeous car and a STICK to boot! I love stories like this, uplifting, proud!
That engine sound omg
Phil Williams 50s mopar

Christine blows all cars away
thomas allen no she doesn't, she's a poor quality union built piece of shit.
Then I would go to the beach in a convertible.
lol I'll guess "she doesn't, she's a poor quality union built piece of shit" equals your self
NUMBER 1 for me is General Lee. Christine is up there though.
I say that both Christine and Imports (though we shouldn’t be arguing over this, they’re completely different, one is a specific car with a specific model year, and one is just a name for any non-domestic car) are good in their own rights.
Christine: The Original Transformer. 😎

Chevy guys always hated the Mopars , because they couldn't ever beat them !!

Just wanted to say, beautiful car beautiful guy, I hope she gives you and your family many years of enjoyment.
We here in the UK used to watch all your tv shows mainly to see amazing automobiles, all gone now, please preserve what you can so future generations can marvel those wonderful vehicles.
I love this Car.
I agree. Imagine a crossover of the two! Christene with all of the time travel stuff!
Matthew Caughey True...
Beautiful car
Beautiful history
and a beautiful passion
That car is not only beautiful, it is literally a work of art.
I love 50's American cars and she's a beautiful example, the owner seems such a nice chap
6:11 I can tell how realistic this car is and it really is from the movie, remember when Arnie flew out the windshield crashing into Darrel’s little shack that opened the garage door?
Great Video, and beautiful restoration. I love that Movie
Rick Nethery part 2 the revenge next year
Charles Kerr well its next year WHEN WILL IT COME OUT
The "Movie" had nothing to do with the actual car, a 1958 Plymouth with 350 cubic inch V8 and 2 Carter WCFB carburetors that were the heart and soul of the vehicle. The beautiful car stands on it's own merits, and is above the stupidity of Hollywood horse shit mind altering crap
God I wish I had Christine....such a beautiful car, yet so cunning....
The 1958 Plymouth Fury is awesome! I might buy one, of course not the exact one, but you can still buy these as they are still being sold to either be restored or to collectors. I love classics, and even more people who restore them!
What a beautiful car . it's one of my favourite movies l saw it at the theatre when it first came out.
When I was younger, I wanted to read Christine. When I finally got my hands on the book I couldn't put it down.
"Yes your getting seatbelts..." LOL!
Not surprised after what happened to Arnie.....
I bet Christine is saying "just try me....."
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
@@DCM8828 but when your alive is great, it's like would you rather live for 100 years driving boring cars or drive a 50s cars and only live for 40 years
@@DCM8828 well...beauty comes with a price, no?
pinkfreud62 cars had class back then
My mom had a 1958 Plymouth Belvedere, same color of this Fury but it had a push button transmission. Wish I had that beauty today!
My favorite car of all time I love you Christine!
Alan Ladd seine Katze thank you so much for your truly kind and encouraging words. Comments like this really keep me going
These cars were just a whole level of beauty their own
i work at a luxury car dealer and i get asked all the time what car i would get if i could have any car and i always say 58 plymouth fury!
omg christine is my all time favorite movie ...thanx for restoreing her once again ..."i hear ya knockin but ya cant come in" "darlin forever"
This is one of the best videos on youtube that I've seen. Maybe it's just because I have a soft spot for that film.
Nice nice car. Really nice car.
Awesome story
The 1958 fury is the most beautiful and strong running lady on the on the roads. That is a very fortunate man but he deserves her. He brought her to life.
indeed
when he said "yes you're getting seatbelts" I honestly expected a wrech to fly up from the back of the garage and hit him in the back of the head, killing him.
Ah no. Christine love the gentleman.
No because Christine loves him and they have been through a lot through the years. Tho if someone else would have said it then they would have died.

Can't put a price on those memories...That's a very nice story thanks for sharing..
very cool....LOVED the movie and LOVE the car!!!! good job!!!!
Beautiful work :) You did a wonderful job keeping an important car on the road :) I hope it stays in your family for years and years to come.
When he mentions how proud
his Father was, It got to me,
I love this video.
It should've been longer.🤘🏼
Loved the movie and the star Christine. As I'm watching this video I recognize the scenery, this is Riverside Calif which is where I live. They are cruising beautiful Victoria Ave. and some of the
shots are at the famous Mission Inn. Great story!
An exceptional car. A true testament to determination to restore that beauty.
Props to the man. He had a dream and he followed it. And the result is a beautiful girl from a age long past. Really a treasure on wheels.
Bad ass! Love the car, love the movie, and the soundtrack rules.
This is an INCREDIBLE video... thanks for uploading it!
I always dream of having a classic car!
Agreed
You're mine and we belong together.
I grew up watching this movie and going to car shows. Even though I'm an Oldsmobile aficionado I always thought Christine was one of the best looking cars in history.
They need to remake this car. It's so beautiful. 🤗
This is my dream.I have that movie complete in my head.I was born 55 in 59 my parents traded in their 55 buick special 2 door hardtop for a new 59 fury. They kept it to 68.So I grew up in it learned to drive in it.
Believe me, I'm not even all that into old cars from the 50's but this is one of the most gorgeous cars I've ever seen.
57-58 Plymouth Furys were gorgeous cars. Beautifully styled. Most late 50s Chrysler products were beautiful. Particularly 57-58 Chrysler 300s
Sweet sweet ride man, beautiful.
Has any shiters ever came in between you and Christine
+Johnny Law :D
Lol good one.
Are you still the rescue pug lady?
Well, if they did.........WATCH OUT!
Only in San Francisco.
What a heart warming story. Awesome car. Glad Christine will live on
YES!!! The video I've been waiting for, for such a long time; I KNEW it was out there and I can now check THAT box!! Thank you!! And while some might say your life is defined by this car, I still see you as a caretaker of a piece of history you realize is so VERY important to a huge movie-going public. You're just appreciative to go along for the ride...👍👍
Great vid i've seen before but love seeing again. I especially love the "I'd probably say no" to a million dollar offer on Christine. He seems 'set' so what would the money buy he dosen't already have? Money isn't everything.
