Great video explanation. I have several cruwear knives including the mini and regular adamas and adamas fixed blade. The performance explanation of the stropping response is accurate. I've been watching Larrin's videos and yours came up in my feed.
M4’s wear resistance is a bit higher, but these days, I’m preferring the higher toughness and especially the better corrosion resistance of CruWear. It’s not stainless, but it doesn’t start to patina nearly as readily as M4 does. I’ve got 5 CruWear knives so far, (all Spyderco), and will almost certainly get more in the future.
i just got a Manix in M4 (already had one in Rex 45) but CruWear is my absolute favourite non-stainless. It's tough as nails, holds its edge _very_ well and it's crazy easy to sharpen our just strop back.

Glad you enjoyed the video I also have a carry of Cruwear I did comparing it at different Rockwells you might enjoy that
A really nice assessment based on your experience. I've kind of experienced the same as you - especially the deep patina with M4. 🤙

Hey, do you think DLC of m4 would totally negate M4s corrosion? Ofc just keeping it wiped off if gets wet.

Great video! Thanks! I have the Spyderco PM2 in both Cruwear & M4. Both have the black blades. Which would you recommend for hard use EDC? Thanks!
Cruwear for sure
Thanks! Looking forward to more great reviews!
Recently picked me up a knife from Spyderco that uses m4. I have an old fallkniven diamond stone, should that be adequate to upkeep it for awhile?
Any diamond or CBN Abrasive
Cruwear is slightly better than M4.I've got SPyderco Manix XL in M4 and Benchmade in Cruwear and PM2 in Cruwear and in my opiniom Cruwear is better.
I hope cruwear doesn’t rust like D2. I’ve had 2 D2 knives rust so much I literally threw them away.
There’s sprays and oils that can used to maintain the steel should have a video on here for that
Nice what's the top fixed?
Javelin from BGM knives
Awesome thank you for the information
My thoughts exactly. M4 is an amazing steel, but Cruwear is just slightly amazinger. 😊
I need a Cruwear native
@@allthingsknives ooh, that sounds like fun. It looks like there was a knifecenter exclusive Native 5 (non-LW) with Cruwear and smooth black G10.
@@ZPositive yeah forever ago I’m waiting for the black blade to come out
@@allthingsknives eek! The one that can't be reground without it looking weird? Sorry, the hobby of regrinding has made me a black blade hater. 😎
@@ZPositive I just want the steel, idc about the looks I have a few black blades I’ve had reground
That Benchmade was probably stupid expensive. They're prices are absurd.
