I'm gonna be real, I have no idea how I originally ended up subscribed, and UFC/MMA is something I have approximately zero interest in, but your videos are informative, easy to digest, and show a genuine passion for the things you discuss. The comedy videos I can relate to but I end up watching everything anyway.
The idea that Dana planned for this to happen is ridiculously comical. Dana would never want to be in a position where Nate Diaz would have all the power over him on top of having to pay him him even more money. On top of that, when does the UFC ever give the fans the fights they want? They constantly feed older vets on their way out like Nate to young big shots. They wanted to feed Nate’s last fight to Khamzat, and the scale made the UFC make the fight that they should have done in the first place.
Yeah, I highly doubt it was planned. I could buy that the UFC knew a little before hand that Khamzat was not going to make weight so they staged the Chimaev/Holland brawl and canceled the presser to create some quick hype for the last minute change up. But that is as far as I'd be willing to go. Personally I think this was just Khamzat completely fucking things up and making everybody else scramble to pick up the pieces.

Well it depends how you look at it. The UFC definitely made more waves promoting Khamzat Diaz fight than a Ferguson Diaz fight. I think they made more money doing it this way and while quietly giving Nate Diaz the only fight he would have agreed to. Sure Nate Diaz made more money but so did the UFC.

Hey Beige, keep up the good work. Always love seeing you upload. MMA media has become so obsessed with being the first to break a story recently. These longer, retrospective, more detailed videos really stand out from the bland masses.
"Shouting Allahu Akbar and threatening to kill everybody on the morning of 911" is the most incredible trash talk that has ever taken place. No one has that kind of creativity, intensity, or sheer viciousness on the mic. All these other dudes don't even come close.

@jeff edwards if I had to guess, I would say that as time moved on, the UFC morphed more and more into pro wrestling, not in the in ring action (well, maybe in the pre and post fight interviews sounding like WWE promos) but the backstage/FO politics. Dana has his favorites and he has his moods, and the fighters that deserve it are the ones that feel the brunt of it, be it in pay or promotion
Love to see it Beige, just one correction: Nate made over $11MM for the Conor rematch, as evidenced by the lawsuit by his former management over unpaid commissions of $500K+. He made $2M for his show money alone.

I have no doubt his OG mentality and lifestyle makes business negotiations a pain in the ass to work out. Dana said in a press conference that Chimaev was the only guy Nate wanted to fight other than Adedanya and Ngannou. Nate said the same thing in an interview.
