- The Snapdragon X Elite platform for Windows PCs is looking really promising! Qualcomm brought me out for some demos and to experience the new chips in action -- and when you have me playing Baldur's Gate 3 comfortably on a laptop that could potentially go for a while of gameplay, I definitely pay attention. Not to mention the NPU in the Snapdragon X Elite that could handle some demanding video editing tasks. I'm excited to try out more of the platform in upcoming products!

the marketing budget for this chip is insane
nothing compared to apple over 10 billion dollars annually in recent years.
I hope they don't mess this golden opportunity by adding a mere 64whr battery just so they could make slimmest windows laptop. A slightly thick laptop with beefy 90whr battery is thousand times better than a slim laptop with just 48 or 64whr battery

I'd happily trade some battery life for a slimmer laptop. Your use case & preferences don't apply to everyone. 64 whr is fine for me.
@@Lee.S321 I don't get the argument for slimness, I think it makes the device more susceptible to breaking... Macbook Air is already slim enough
A large battery is useful when travelling. But going too large will increase the weight. This is not good for travelling.
They should balance between weight and battery life.
@@EverRusting I don't mean MB Air slim, but laptops like the HP Spectre, Lenovo Z13 etc, tend to have a smaller 64 whr battery. That's the kind of 13"-14" portable laptop that I like.

"smoothly" - shows 30 fps. Dont get elme wrong, its impressive considering that it's apu and probably 35W one but maybe that wasnt the right word
Native games for ARM for windows don't exists yet. What you were experiencing was just basic emulation.
23W plus it's not running natively but has to go over emulation layers.
@@petermikus2363 yes, I know, and I know it is impressive. Just saying that maybe the word "smooth" wasn't the best in this case. Hope it will get proper Linux support for both cpu and gpu
@@petermikus2363this igpu have only 4.63 tflops power but amd apus with 86x architecture can achieve 12 tflops. Even intel igpu are more powerful. In ai intel promise that the new intel core ultra cpus can achieve 100 tops but this cpu cant.

Done right it could be an Intel killer for everyday laptop users and non gamers! I’m stuck using a Mac, which I hate, for the battery life when meeting clients. Windows just doesn’t last with Intel or AMD but now this could be a game changer! I don’t require the Macs performance and it can’t game at all. Just give me 14 hour battery life with Windows 11 😂
It doesn't have to perform above 1080p because the of the screen size

I've been waiting for the things in snapdragon X since snapdragon 865. especially no big.little for real power in laptops alongside much better battery life and light gaming.
I like there's basically new player entering the Windows market, but these gaming results would be great if the laptops coming with these new chips would be priced well, bit given it will be the new and shiny, I'd be very surprised seeing them priced accordingly. Bit I'll be happily proved wrong
Hmmm we should pair this with a dedicated graphics card desktop computer and I would get in this arm race. Will x86 just drop off in the consumer market?

1080p at medium settings from a SoC is good, I’m sure discreet graphics will be in some machines as well. Plus in a Few years, these SoC will have much better graphics capabilities that a discreet card won’t be necessary

control is not a demanding game...a gtx 1650 can produce 60 fps on that game
Yes but it is not made for ARM which means it has to run trough a emulation layer which just makes it much more demanding.

Gaming on a MB is still pretty awful. If Qualcomm powered laptop become popular game devs will have no choice but to port to ARM.

It's better than the m2 pro but worser than the m3 in single core performance but better than the m3 and m3 pro in multi-core performance

Hi you should still install android on it not windows, then it will be super android gaming, we don't want more windows, just ad android latest version and a good nvidia gpu on it, we would love to see a device like nintendo console but android based and capable
