    Ok, your Suzuki advertisements are torture!!!!! I am on 6 months of back order for my new DF-140s....get sponsorship from a beer company or something I can get my hands on please! But that custom refit was pretty bad ass, so that's cool. Good segment!

    You should have brought an artist in to paint the hydrastep like an old mahogany boat. That would be sick.

    Does the "cost of the dream boat" include the outboards? I'm thinkin not, but still wanted to ask. BTW, I can watch these restos all day long

    • @zacpearson1878
      @zacpearson1878 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, they were used engines and they did the work themselves so it wasn’t like they had to pay a shop labor

    I would not use a full mahogany built Hacker Craft as a reference for a fiberglass faux painted boat. A Hacker Craft is the real thing.

    • @deepseevisuals
      @deepseevisuals 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is a reference to what look they are trying to achieve with the faux :)

    Beautiful but so impractical, one sinker ding or gaff scratch will cost $3k to fix. Painting Gemlux hinges why? Something else to eventually maintain.

      @@deepseevisuals I'm going to compare apples to apples and then go big picture to explain myself. For them apples, I've watched every episode of,project steamboat, and it really jumps out at me this season (so far) that it's being slowed rolled on the same boats, where as only a few big builds used to carry over episodes. Now, big picture. Its "project dreamboat", and you are doing hokey crap like changing oil in an outboard over multiple episodes. Leave that to the iPhone toting TH-camrs that crank out a billion examples of mundane stuff like that. As far as I'm concerned, the magic is in the stuff you don't see every day. Spend 10 minutes on that guy from wildfire making those fiberglass boxes, use the footage. I know the golden rule is to "never fall in love with your footage", but damn, could barely tell what was going on there and that was real custom,work going on there. We aren't tuning in to some jackass Saturday morning hot rod show peppered with sponsors and mind numbing build mediocrity, these are DREAM. BOATS. Show us why custom IS custom. Not goofy foot oil changing B roll that gets the same play time as real interesting custom work.

      @deepseevisuals 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@growlith6969 Thank you for your feedback! Unfortunately, boat building in real world scenarios on real budgets, takes a long, long time, most of the time. Many of these very custom projects get drawn out overs years and years. This year, especially, due to many setbacks in the marine (and all industries) with gathering parts, outboards, etc. has meant the toughest year yet to work on building and filming these dreamboats, it sucks! For the oil change, you must realize, that just because we know how to do it, many new boaters and people that LOVE this show, really do appreciate that type of job being shown, so they have the confidence to do it themselves. It being done on a high-level of production, not just some guy holding is phone, is what makes it even better and also, fun to watch and learn. We are very knowledgeable boaters and boat builders here at DSV and Florida Sportsman and we realize we have to put ourselves in the novices shoes from time to time, to really appreciate all we have learned and continue to learn. We will we absolutely seize every opportunity to showcase the highest end work we can, whether something for a novice or something truly custom, left for the professionals!
