There's a perfectly good reason why the warning labels are on there: every 75 minutes a child shows up at an A&E (Emergency room here in the US) with a battery related injury; 85% of them are button cells. A child swallowing a button cell has killed a kid in under 20 minutes, and not from choking. Most people have no idea how very dangerous they are when ingested, they turn into little blowtorches and the results are awful, especially for a small child. Keep those button cells away from the littles.
Thanks for highlighting this. It had never occurred to me... but thinking about it I can imagine just how dangerous this could be - really doesn't bear thinking about the consequences.

If your kid breaks your watch open to get that battery, you have real problems with your child. My kids don't get anywhere near my watches, let alone a battery. This generation needing told what not to stick it in their gob climate change is the least of their problems.

I love the design of the Velocity. Great unboxing mate!
Apparently I am the dissenting opinion round here 😂. I think the diver style watch is cool, I do like the tropic style strap, and the quirkiness of the dial reminds me slightly of the Bulova devil diver. The only thing I don't like too much is the price 🤣. The Chronograph is cool too but not as much as the desk diver.

On a side note, the Timex EU store is having a 25% discount day today (19/4). Does not apply on all watches though.
The Marlin chronograph is a nice piece.
I like the overall design of the Marlin Chronograph, but I think the design was off in one area: the chronograph minute sub-dial should have a minute marker every minute, while the second sub-dial doesn't need it (people can track seconds with the chronograph function anyway). If they swap the 2 sub dials it will make more sense, in my opinion!

The jury was out for me on the 1971 Velocity, I think I quite like it but couldn't make up my mind, until you revealed the price, made up my mind for me, hundred quid max for a quartz Timex with an acrylic mega dome!
I love the case on the reissue, don’t mind the friction bezel (although may have preferred the original countdown over elapsed time), but the chapter ring, the crosshairs, and maybe even the hands aren’t really my style. I hope they have other colorways eventually, like how they had some assorted other Timex Q designs.

I have the Marlin Chrono Panda and it's very nice.
The Velocity without the rotating bezel would be nice to keep it slimmer. The dial is more of a racing than diver style and was available as such originally.
I like funky and i saw the velocity watch on timex's site and it caught my eye and i looked for a review and no one had a video on it. Thanks for doing cheaper watches like this i like more expensive watches as well but a cheap funky watch is hard to beat! The smooth bezel kinda kills it for me tho....i would much prefer no bezel action to this but i understand its probably period correct. I just feel like it will move as i wear it or bump my arm on stuff.
Dome crystals will always be the coolest, soon I just want a giant bubble on my wrist
62 years ago my father when I was 9 he gave a Timex watch child size and something may not know at that time in 1962 Timex was made in England and that's on the face of the watch not nowadays for awhile and maybe still today there made in China.i still have that watch I keep it because it's a memory I enjoy made in England hey .

I really like the new designs. But, they really need to focus on making their watches more durable. Seems like every one I've ever owned was broken in no time.

I have about 200 vintage Timex and Timex has yet to send me anything for free LOL.
Never thought I'll say this but I'm very excited about Timex's future. These watches may not be my cup of tea but their recent lineup is quite impressive. In my opinion they're at the verge of replacing Seiko for producing good quality watches for cheap.
Timex is squeezing every penny they can get out of the name Marlin.
They just need to make a smart watch at this point
