Perhaps an unpopular opinion, but I much prefer the dial design of the 2100 series. I'm not a fan of that chunky 'X' shape in the center, and the two digital displays at 3 o'clock and 6 o'clock look even less legible in this all-black colour variant than those in the all-black GA- and GAB2100 series. But those NATO straps are really cool! Cheers, //Rick

Appreciate the option to change straps, but I believe the 24mm lug width doesn’t compliment the design of the smaller dial.
This is super cool, I would buy a dw5600 with these lugs in 22mm. Nato on a g-shock without having to cut them to a custom fit is pretty cool

I actually like the curved strap on g-shocks. It pitch the sides of your wrist so the bottom and the top feels slightly looser. Considering that everything that is moving is under the wrist, it feels way more comfy like this. This one is not for me.
I was sort of keen on this watch and I am a stapaholic but 24 mm non-tapered straps are not for me.😢

24mm lug width looks too wide for a 41mm case... When you had the 22mm strap on it looked much better proportioned.

The GA2000 had 24mm standard lugs about 5 years ago. It was followed by the 2100 which completely overshadowed it and relegated it to obscurity.
I have the 2100, now I want the 2300 after seeing all these great straps! nice video, thank you.

yeah.. I kinda like that shape but I don't think it's gonna fit my slim wrist. (I usually wear 37-39mm dial size watches)

The original strap is awful. Way too stiff.really spoils the watch.

Thanks for the mini-review! I like that they've incorporated standard lugs into the watch, but I agree, they should have gone with 20mm or 22mm lugs so they could make them a little narrower so the lugs wouldn't flare out that far (in addition to being able to use straps in our current collecttions). Looks a little weird to me. My eyesight sucks, and these are unreadable for me. And I'm not a fan of that giant X on the dial. Nice watch, but I'll probably stick with my GA-2100.

Love the watch and it’s big brother BUT CASIOAK IS SUCH A STUPID NAME!!!! Everyone says it like it’s the actual name !!!
FWIW the CNS ribbed straps can be "broken in" quickly, or rather made to conform to the watch case geometry and wrist very easily and quickly : wearing the watch, soak the band with cold or lukewarm water under the tap, and leave it to dry out completely on your wrist. Et voilà.
I almost thought those lugs were flexible. I still think positive displays are the way to go, and I'm betting a solar / Bluetooth model will follow next year.
I’m not sure about this watch, love the size, two minds about the lug bits and the X but I do like it overall, I’d definitely leave it on the strap it was born with but if I did swap then it would be the first black one you put it on, great vid 👍🏻
I've got a couple square Gs and I got single ballistic straps for both. I REALLY don't like how these ones you have go on. My 5610 and 5610U look so much cleaner with that single strap buckled UNDER your wrist.
I'm on my second G-Shock G2900...10 year battery life,data-bank etc...Quality watch...Ha!!
What the actual fk? looks even more ridiculous than my grandmothers microscopic watch from the 60s. This looks like a 20c gumball mickey mouse watch I got in the 90s 😂.

The shape of the GA-2300 is not octagonal, just to a small extent. This is a new design.
It's just a terrible oak followup and straps don't help it , nice to see you can change them tho

My casioak pulls on my hair, I just can’t use it. The rubber padding at the quick release is a culprit I think. Hope this one is more wearable for me
Designs alright I suppose but where's the multiband these days!? Tough solar!? Old school models are so much more feature rich.

Thanks for sharing Dave. In my opinion tiny negative display is a no go for me , the indices color should match with the hands as it's increase the legibility. So i still stick to my old rangeman👌

This looks terrible and it doesn't have solar, as a positive it will make the solar 2100 cheaper and make it easier to get 24mm straps for my other watches.
Not my style at all. I can see it on a uniform in a syfy movie.

The design is kinda all over the place. Digital screens are too small and the color scheme kinda blends into itself, making it harder to read the hands. X pattern doesn't help it either...
love most casios but this design just dont work for me wont call it ugly but its very very special

24mm seems too wide for the watch case. The 22mm looks better a tad bit.
The khaki brown strap fits the look the best.

Lots of people hate Temu but they have a crap ton of 24mm straps (most with black hardware) for $5 or less. Just saying.
Suunto does 24mm straps for their watches.
A seatbelt fabric is the way to go on a NATO strap.
