In the guitar solo its like he took all the great phrases of the original and pushed them even greater and added even better notes to the licks that were already amazing!! god damn!
Jeremy Colson is a drummer. He used to play with Marty Friedman and actually he's on Steve Vai's Band. For me, he's a really technical rock-drummer. Maybe not a virtuoso but he has quite an interesting style.
This is Jeremy Colson singing. He plays drums for Vai, Marty and others. I agree the vocals aren't quite there, but Jeremy is a cool dude none the less, so lay of haters! Their just having fun!
I would also like to point out that it sounds to me that Martys gotten a little faster since his days with Megadeth. Maybe the recording for the leads in this song are a higher quality or something but i dont know i thought for awhile chris broderick might have been a little better but after hearing some of those extra leads he worked into the song im not at all sure. It sounds like Martys still a top notch guitarist. Badass i love this guy.
who wouldve thought the amazing tornado of souls solo would be surpassed by marty himself in a remake of the same solo XD this solo imo is much improved. anyone know if marty is using any effects to get that subtle wah sound? that tone is amazing. I really like this version. you have to forget this is a megadeth song and see it as what it is, a punk metal song. you might enjoy it more then. the vocals are good punk vocals and fits the songs new style.
i actually like this version as much as the original (but they are in no way equal), well mainly because i'm open to most genres of music, this version has a punk edge and i respect that, the singer blows but i kinda like how he sang the last few words, the guitar solo is orgasmic
Even after all these years... Even if this "cover" is shit, Marty is and will eternally stay the only fuckin one able to play correctly this awesome solo.
You couldn't have said it better...I thought it was a totally different song 'cos of the riff in the beginning. Dave is rolling around in his grave, and the freakin' guy isn't even dead yet.
im glad he did something diff with it - makes the album worth buying instead of just being just cheap covers - intro is proper heavy! :D Not a great fan of the vox, but as always, the guitar is AWESOME! come back to england marty!!!!! :D:D
Fuck its a bummer that he had to take this song in the direction he did rather than possibly heavier. BUT this version of the guitar solo, unbelievably, is actually BETTER than the Megadeth version !! HOLY CRAP!
There's a lesson in this: It takes more than just great guitar solos to make something worth listening to. Sure, I love Megadeth's guitar solos, but I love Megadeth because they create *songs* but remain heavy for the most part.
@PanosGuitarHero idk about vai, but hes been Marty's drummer for a few years. As far as I know his vocals are the only thing bad about this song. Its pretty badass if you think about rock and not think about the original. And in my OPINION this solo is more polished and a bit better than then original.
i cant say i like this version at all. tho i respect you if u do and marty very much. despite i dont like the vocal and guitar riffs i think he could atleast have made another version of the solo since he basicly changed the whole song. that could have been very interesting:)
He's the drummer for Steve Vai. I know the person underneath this comment already mentioned it, but you should always look up someone ur not familiar with.
no, thats why i dont try to sing during the time i listened to megadeth daves voice grew on me but it was due to the guitar awesomeness that i kept listening. seriously, his voice, especially on the earlier albums and live, is technically bad and only rabid megadeth fans would argue that it isnt
Well, the song approach is a "fiasco" but the SOLO is a genuine Jewel; Marty is one of the rare guitarists who still have inspiration & I think he's THE ONLY ONE to play his own solos in that inimitable Exotic style with explosive licks!
What the fuck!!!! This guy is Steve Vai's drummer! I can't fuckin belive these people... kow is it possible to have so much talent in so many different areas? these guys aint fuckin humans man...
amazing song, with best guitar solo of all times!!!! congratulations Friedman!!!
His solo stuff is FANTASTIC. So many more styles covered than in Megadeth.
THIS IS AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!
i like listening to this sometimes to change
Go 3:04 direct !!
thank me later.
Thanks to the solo, I don't really regret watching this .
This solo gives me such a huge eargasm.
This is the best fucking solo ever.
Holy shit! I can't understand how a human can compose something like that...
He plays that solo so flawless. I mean I know he created it but damn.
Badass solo!!!
5/5
this solo gives me chills however I listen to it 100 times!
i've had my share of solos but this is probebly the best one ver writen
You know what? Without those shockin vocals this is a sick version of TOS, 4 stars for that
My bowels just voided out of sheer repulsion
holy crap that solo.... just wow
My fuckin eardrums just emploded!!!!!
Marty Friedman's latest album Future Addict... I'm still in shock, I just got the album, I want to cry!!! fucking bad
i think it sound pretty sickkk!
Marty has defended his throne.
the vocalist is also the drummer,Jeremy Colson.he is also drumming for Steve Vai.
hahahhaha i died when i read the hay fever part so true
This is Jeremy Colson singing. He plays drums for Vai, Marty and others. I agree the vocals aren't quite there, but Jeremy is a cool dude none the less, so lay of haters! Their just having fun!
this is the best solo written by marty friedman and megadeth and METAL !!
I don't know if it's Marty or not playing.... But the solo was done to perfection.
Omg... Dave is desperately needed here... i cant believe Marty would actually go through with this...
*Blows brains out after listening to this*
no, this is in fact a cover by marty friedman off of his future addict album that came out last year. look it up
Future Addict
Jeremy Colson = Tha assassin of good megadeth songs.
This is what Rust in peace would have sounded like if Marty was in charge
marty always loved pop music..
my boys wicked smart.
Marty actually improved the solo even further, i did not think that could be done.
damn im kinda speechless
i like it. i dont care what other think. a bit different but wtf music will always be music in someones heart who truly appreciates music.
i came for the solo 3:04
so did you
BLACKS4BBB give this guy a medal!
@joeperry666 its Jeremy Colson, it says in the description...
I think this is kinda fun I love metal but punk is nice too. I find this cover much funnier to listen than most covers made.
exelent solo...
Martys tastes changed. So now its his music. Accept it, hi is still a fckng genius!!!!
YES!!!!!!!!
@ThatTastyJuiceBox Sorry, I don't post pics of myself.
@doctorbenjiphd Yes he is. Playing drums on this track here too. He now plays for Billy Idol funnily enough.
LOL think why there are no megadeth tribute album, the vocal can't be replicate. btw, appreciate the creative aspect of this song.
I would also like to point out that it sounds to me that Martys gotten a little faster since his days with Megadeth. Maybe the recording for the leads in this song are a higher quality or something but i dont know i thought for awhile chris broderick might have been a little better but after hearing some of those extra leads he worked into the song im not at all sure. right from the "1, 2, 3, GO!" i knew this was gonna blow... except the solo, of course :-/
who wouldve thought the amazing tornado of souls solo would be surpassed by marty himself in a remake of the same solo XD this solo imo is much improved. anyone know if marty is using any effects to get that subtle wah sound? that tone is amazing.
I really like this version. you have to forget this is a megadeth song and see it as what it is, a punk metal song. you might enjoy it more then. the vocals are good punk vocals and fits the songs new style.
@DethShrike He knows how to write a solo. Fuck yes.
i actually like this version as much as the original (but they are in no way equal), well mainly because i'm open to most genres of music, this version has a punk edge and i respect that, the singer blows but i kinda like how he sang the last few words, the guitar solo is orgasmic
oh well at least he know the ALMIGHTYNESS of the original solo
Even after all these years... Even if this "cover" is shit, Marty is and will eternally stay the only fuckin one able to play correctly this awesome solo.
You couldn't have said it better...I thought it was a totally different song 'cos of the riff in the beginning. Dave is rolling around in his grave, and the freakin' guy isn't even dead yet.
Marty s best solo
im glad he did something diff with it - makes the album worth buying instead of just being just cheap covers - intro is proper heavy! :D Not a great fan of the vox, but as always, the guitar is AWESOME! come back to england marty!!!!! :D:D
gotta be 5 stars just for that solo! fuck me that was kick-ass!!
holy crap...
so true.
jeremy colson is 100% happy punk =P
this fucking rocks!
I like both versions
Fuck its a bummer that he had to take this song in the direction he did rather than possibly heavier. BUT this version of the guitar solo, unbelievably, is actually BETTER than the Megadeth version !! HOLY CRAP!
@mingebag851 Dave has great solos mixed with incredible rhythm playing is the thing.
Absolutely
There's a lesson in this: It takes more than just great guitar solos to make something worth listening to.
Sure, I love Megadeth's guitar solos, but I love Megadeth because they create *songs* but remain heavy for the most part.
no one and i mean no one except for maybe Broderick comes close to playing the solo like Friedman........way to go Marty!!
Chorus part is really good
I've got to be honest, this punkier version is refreshing.
@COBofMari ty :)
world domination begins @3:05
Marty, Marty...Marty, please don´t fuck our great musical anthems.
the singer is in the description, jeremy colson.....
HAHAHAHAHA that was funny, and maybe true :O
Only Colson could make this song sound bad. Freidman still rocks.
@COBofMari amazing solo by marty
@PanosGuitarHero idk about vai, but hes been Marty's drummer for a few years.
As far as I know his vocals are the only thing bad about this song. Its pretty badass if you think about rock and not think about the original. And in my OPINION this solo is more polished and a bit better than then original.
@Lambofgod9904 lol, is that a threat?
jeremy colson is a drummer in steve vai´s band, and pretty good.
Wh-wh-WHAT?!
00:20.
That's when I knew something had gone horribly wrong.
HAHA I thought the Vocals said Jeremy Clarkson at first, ......In the world/.
i cant say i like this version at all. tho i respect you if u do and marty very much. despite i dont like the vocal and guitar riffs i think he could atleast have made another version of the solo since he basicly changed the whole song. that could have been very interesting:)
He's the drummer for Steve Vai. I know the person underneath this comment already mentioned it, but you should always look up someone ur not familiar with.
No one does this solo like Marty
I love Chris, but nobody plays the solo like Marty does. It is HIS solo.
guys shut up just because its not how you like it and it's not the original doesnt mean its horrible some people might think it's pretty good
ahhhhhhh mommy make the bad go away its scaryy
no, thats why i dont try to sing
during the time i listened to megadeth daves voice grew on me but it was due to the guitar awesomeness that i kept listening. seriously, his voice, especially on the earlier albums and live, is technically bad and only rabid megadeth fans would argue that it isnt
@psalvacion Me too !!!!! one m00:0re time !!!!
@gnrcr And... If he needs any help kicking the chair... :-)
fuck yeah 😎
@Lambofgod9904 lol, an empty threat.
his tone is smoking
Well, the song approach is a "fiasco" but the SOLO is a genuine Jewel; Marty is one of the rare guitarists who still have inspiration & I think he's THE ONLY ONE to play his own solos in that inimitable Exotic style with explosive licks!
What the fuck!!!! This guy is Steve Vai's drummer! I can't fuckin belive these people... kow is it possible to have so much talent in so many different areas? these guys aint fuckin humans man...
Vocals sound like it's Anti-Nowhere League's Animal singing xD
If nathan gale was a fan of megadeth, I wonder if marty would have lived today...
The vocals blow. Sounds like a teenager!
now that i hear (painfully) this song again, i think marty improved the solo... thats the only good thing i can draw from this
Right ! U_U
@YanchamaruTaiketsu Yes
lol i didn´t even recognize the song at first
