You must be a new fan who is also very young. Pantera aggressively hid those albums for YEARS! There are even interviews from headbangers ball where Phil is asked during the CFH era if the band will ever do updated versions of Power Metal songs, and he’s like “Nooooooo!”. The Pantera website back, when they were still together before the break up made no mention of those albums. It always said the CFH was their first album. They used get a lot of crap about the glam years back in the 90s. After Dimes death is when they started opening up because it couldn’t be hidden anymore with the major development of the internet, TH-cam and the behind the music documentary. So yeah, they were ashamed of their past, so they lied and hid it for years. I’m 40 years old man…all this crazy stuff was going on in my teen years so I remember very vividly/clearly what went down.
I remember playing the Sandpiper in Shreveport. It was half rock half stripper club...lol.. thanks for posting...my entire youth was spent with Pantera, every weekend almost from 84 until 92.
@@mikepatterson437 yep...met them in Plano in 84 and later played bass in Defcon and Stormbringer..many drunk nights at the Basement, Joe's Garage, the Ranch in Muenster, DCL and my first experience was when my Mom dropped me off at Six Flags with Jerry Abbott and they tore that little theater to pieces 🤘🤘
So true and as a guitar player myself, that song is an intense workout of your abilities. Most players (like myself) can't play it. And to think how effortlessly he did it while banging his head - never making a mistake - and just being a metal god onstage . . he was one of a kind, man
@@mikepatterson437 What surprises me is how tight and skilled they already are. I mean they wrote way more songs after that, but the musical skills and stage presence were already at prime - and super high - level.
Absolutely- fuck to this DAY if you can show me a more intense player, shred machine and writer, that you cannot take your eyes off of, please tell me. I have to change my underwear every time I watch this
We want and society needs 80s bands, music, glamour rock, all of it back. 21st century pansy sicko world. Imagine this were new and the standard nowadays
I really don't think they were. They acknowledged it but just moved on from it. There's an interview out there on YT with Dime and Vinnie at Dimes house and they ask them about this era. They didn't seem embarrassed by it at all. Even Dime said, "Man I wouldn't trade my gold spandex for nothing!"
Man, it was 1988 and I was at LSU. Got a cassette of "Power Metal", fell in love with these guys, and one day someone told me they had a bootleg VHS of a couple of shows. I asked if I could borrow it and check it out, and for the life of me, I cannot remember who it was . . They never asked for it back, I know that much! I would have at LEAST made a copy of it for myself to keep, obviously it was fucking AWESOME - especially at that time. But the reason I know it is the original copy is the handwritten stuff on the tape itself. Not my handwriting by a long shot. Almost looks like a girl wrote the locations and band name. But I always wanted to put this out there and I finally learned how to do TH-cam stuff and got some cool software, it was time . . . glad everyone is enjoying it. Yes more to come and also for anyone into Acid Bath, I myself filmed a show of theirs and want to upload it soon too. The sound quality on it is much better than this one
Power metal was a great album so underrated
i love power metal
Yes, truly. "We'll meet again" - one of the best Pantera's song.
Definitely!!
It didnt take them noticed very long when they were on a major label
It's my favourite album next to cowboys.dont get me wrong they have a great catalogue but something about those first two albums does it for me
Vinnie's like a fucking metronome!
Но с душой!!!😊
Diamond is such a shred machine. I really love this era of Pantera.
NOTHING TO BE ASHAMED OF AS LONG AS PHIL IS ON VOCALS...THIS IS GOLD👹
I Am The Night is excellent too
I don't think they were ever ashamed of it. They acknowledged it. They just moved on.

So much hair on Dime

@@aarontrainor9918I think he js stopped perming it
Whatever hairspray jokes... This is actually awesome!
I love this era of Pantera, thanks for uploading this!! 🍻🤘
Those first 4 records are gems, some of Darrell's best solos and riffs are there .
underrated song!!!

One of the most devastating riffs in metal, it causes an indescribable sensation when you hear it.
Incredible!! This is my favorite era of dime playing!!!🤘🏼😎🎸
No doubt
Great video! Should be somehow legally broadcast of tv regularly along with every Beatles and Zeppelin song.
Awesome footage, if you got more unreleased videos please put them out
When Phil had hella a lot of hair
This is so good as so precious. Thank you so much and God bless you a million times for posting this.
Dude, thank you thank you thank you for uploading these!!!
My pleasure dude - so glad the finished product turned out great
I love finding more footage before cowboys from hell!
dimebag's hair is beautiful here
It's a better album than Cowboys From Hell, I don't care what anyone says haha!!
OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep em coming Mike Patterson and thank you.
Awesome shit dude!
Great except for focusing on a guy not even playing when the solo was going on. WTF?
Dude you are so correct . . not knowing what that cameraman was smoking, right? And right smack where Darrell's soloing

Not for Dime it wasn’t

They were having a past before far beyond. They didnt come out of nowhere.

Metallica has kill em' all, and they proud of it.

Mike petterson is a true hero!
Glamtera is the best Pantera... period..
Shread city! Real intent has no boundrys! Love the abbotts!!
It's weird that none of this old stuff is in their discography at least on spotify
Yeah I happened to get a cassette of power metal first, and then I got it on cd. Still have it today
omfggggggggggggggggggggg POWER METAL
Phil is the invisible singer
Fuck ya love this old shit I have never seen thus stuff!!!
Awesome
Why didn't Ozzy, Dio, or even David Coverdale snag Dimebag in 1987???
Mustaine tried for Megadeth
@virusinsideus A shredding extraordinaire -- he could have been up for grabs.
Fuck yes!
🤘🔥🤘
This was their best album. Was all downhill after this.
cold
yes! pantera was the best with terry on 3 albums and phil on this album
All y'all r tripping
Yea put old videos.
Ya tenían la base, Dimebag ya era grande
Mustaine did right before So Far So Good So What . .
Their looks were glam thats for sure. But their music really wasnt. Too dark and aggressive for true glam. Especially this album! IMO.
You know vicious rumors and bands like destruction or Bathory looked the same then ?
Its classic heavy meta' look then , not glam
