Ive been on etsy as a hobbyist gor over a decade. At some stage i got the hang of SEO n stuff and my etsy was at a point where the cost and income were equal and i was able to switch from metal to sterling etc… then they changed the algorithm and since my seller base was abroad and etsy shows items per country first even if they are not a perfect match i lost all my momentum… now its not doing anything for me anymore and i hear the same from other european sellers… i want to renain a hobbyist and i feel etsy focus point changed too much… :(
This is seriously concerning because I’m about to open up my Etsy shop and I will rely more on international buyers than local ones. I live in Asia. Does the new Etsy SEO still prioritise country first in 2022? Has anyone with more international buyers experienced this?
@@lenanana8 the algorithm hasnt changed since. So anerican shoppers will see american shops first, german shoppers see german sellers first as long as their search matches those items. Etsy also has really good features. I would say give it a go. Just dont expect miracles and try to deive your own traffic as much as possible
Hope you enjoyed the video! What surprised you most about opening an Etsy shop? Tell us in the comments below 👇 🚩 P.S. Baby brain moment 😆 please note this quick edit! According to Statista.com, in 2020 Etsy had 81.9 _million_ active buyers - up from 46.3 million in 2019 (!). 81.9 million is _huge_ - that means that your products could be put in front of a LOT of potential customers who are searching for products that you might be selling.
Etsy is a joke! In one week I made a modest $67.00. After Fees, Taxes and Postage, I cleared $26.00 bucks. Meanwhile the stock is trading at $102.00. At least investors are happy.
Thank You..great info.. for now, want to focus on pinterest to drive traffic to.my website
Glad it was helpful, Norm! Keep us posted on how your Pinterest journey goes :) - L
Another thoughtful video. Thanks Deb. It's called "Selling" not "Solding"! It takes work.
Thank you 😊

Do you think etsy is still a good idea for new business owners in 2022?
Thanks for the comment, Dan! Totally depends on you/the shop owner, what you need, how much time you have, etc. :) - L
