Exactly!!! This is why I said purity teaching has hurt so many marriages in the church!! We spent years rebuking urges and “sinful” thoughts then when we get married, we can’t make the mental switch that s*x is now okay.
The day after I got married I awoke my husband by hitting him and he was like why are you hitting me, lol. I yelled we’re married and it’s legal to have s*x without regrets. I didn’t have to ask God for forgiveness in this area🙌🏽😂 and we didn’t shy away from the bedroom. Thank God I was not afraid to do what I had the right to do with my husband and not a boyfriend. It’s unfortunate for those who can’t make the switch 😢
I'm 14 years old and I like watching this with my mom. She is addicted to this. I'm glad they ask my question about love is blind. I told my girlfriend that I was right. Thanks Laterris
I love when a DFW episode drops! Excellent discussion and panelists. My top 3 take aways: 1. Communicate your boundaries. 2. Define and envision what a healthy relationship looks like. 3. Pray for the strength to steward sexual desire well! Rebuke enemy motivated lust! This episode blessed me today.
Thank you for another great episode. I absolutely love the last question about how to bring a new partner into a family with the children. Me and my husband not only dated each other when we were dating but we also went on family date and children day. He would date my children and I would date his once we felt it was safe to do so. The theme of our marriage was the perfect plan because we truly try to work out all the laughs before we said I do. Both of us felt that it was a nonnegotiable if our children didn’t like the other person because although we loved each other, we understood that our children were our first ministry. I would love to come on the podcast to share how we navigated dating with children.
The wanting to wait till financially settled to marry and the panelist’s testimony reflects my own experience. From when my husband made up his mind to propose, it took him 5yrs cuz he wanted to reach a certain place financially. Finally, he just went with it. We got married in April. He got a job offer with his degrees, after 13years, in July. He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.
I remember when I went to change my little cousin’s diaper and the diaper had pennies in it. She couldn’t talk much because she was only a little over a year old, but when I look confused, she pointed at her diaper, laughed and said, “POCKETBOOK”! She was putting the pennies in her diaper because her mother taught her that area was called “pocketbook”. 🤦🏽♀️😂 We’re going to do better y’all.
I’m never disappointed when watching the dear future wifey podcast it’s definitely helping me to be a better human wife mother and friend. Now I understand fully submitting patience and to just be still and listen more …. Always something to take away from this podcast

Happy Anniversary... You have broke the mold and blessed me so very much with the wisdom God has given you on this platform and podcast. Continue spreading your gift. ❤❤❤
This was amazing! The caregiver question at the end really resonated with me. It would be great to see a conversation with someone who is a caregiver trying to navigate dating! 😊❤
I learned about Dr. D and Brittany through the Love Hour Podcast with Kevin and Melissa Fredericks. I absolutely love these ladies and glad to have come across their platforms.
Mr. Whitfield, thanks for sharing this convo, appreciate the transparency and professional advice from your panel. Your questions and angle on this subject were spot on, kudos.
@TheChristianSexologist Girl, I already found you and followed you on Instagram! Lol. I meant every word of it! You are so relevant! Especially with the confusions going on today. I never hear this talk in church but I praise God for how you presented in such a relatable and revelatory, non- condemning way! I love it! I know God poured His wisdom in you in this area. So glad you had this conversation, especially about men who make less than their partner. After people came afterTyler Perry , I hope those same people listen to this and understand that a man making less doesn’t mean he can not still provide and be your helpmate! This was soooo good! So much confirmation!
I was in the audience for this episode and I thoroughly enjoyed the conversation. It was good to meet you Laterras! Keep being a blessing to others through DFW. I've been a subscriber since 2020 and DFW has been a blessing to me . # Hearne 🙂

This was one of the best episodes EVER. It's time to have open communication about relational coupled with financial issues with married or single men and woman and how we are to communicate as God's creation and what He created in us and how to apply with God centeredness. Thank you, Laterras and panel
Now that may be true for some but if I can be transparent, when I made my vow to wait until I get married. My mindset has not been negative to shift my focus. I just know what I want and I know that my future husband is worth the wait.
The “average” man will wait for you if he wants you. However, he will have sex and please his needs elsewhere until you’re married. Men don’t wait for sex. It isn’t naturally part of their nature. Especially if he is attracted to you. Ask 10 men who have no reason to lie to you. You will be surprised at the revelation.

First Happy Marriage to all those who said they had been married for a long period of time. This was one of the best podcasts because it really spoke to me!! I loved the panel and their transparency about everything! Wow this was awesome ❤❤

Man! This was good. Being raised and taught desires are bad and wrong and praying them away is a mindset that i am heavily struggling with unlearning 😭
Nothing wrong with getting to the bag. But never wrap your identity in your career but in Christ. Never let your seif worth be tired into your net worth.
Great Panel discussion, 👏🏽👏🏽 thanks to everyone’s participation. It’s interesting that Single, Father & “Good Man” Tyler Perry has advice for Women not Men. 🧐
This is so good, when we were growing up we were taught as kids that sex is something to be ashamed of , women were considered dirty if they were having sex, so much so that when I got married I had shame and this man was my husband, I wish I would have been educated instead of taught that sex was shameful
Come onnnnnnnnnnnnnn !!!!!!!! That part about Adam ! Could've ran me out the door ! He was already set and "settled" She was to elevate!!!! A WORD ! People love the throw the Proverbs 31 woman but baby it says her man is known at the city gates ! stop going to build a nigga workshop and allow GOD to do the work ! Gods work is preparing the woman to handle what is already done. To favor what has already been established. The same with the man whos' wife made more then him. He found his wife and he was favored but his Garden was the knowledge on how to maintain and run a household. His knowledge and relationship with GOD was the Garden. That goes DEEP !
I believe there's no I in commitment but us.....even if a Woman makes more. Come on Queen's we have the ability to birth out a good thing and favor concerning our King👑
Can you do a episode on widow And how to let your first spouse go. To let someone else be their company keeper. Plus how to blend the family together if you decide to get married again
The sexologist missed me on the discussion on hormones vs lust. I found it to be a disingenuous word salad. Arousal and lust are synonymous. If your hormones are "doing what they do", you're horny, and you're lusting after someone, lust being strong sexual desire. No one gets horny and doesn't have a person or fantasy in mind. So to call lust a perversion is strange, when if we're being honest, it's the foundation of man and woman even wanting to deal with each other. Then she very slickly tried to label lust as some consent violation (which everything seems to be a consent violation these days) just because you didn't have permission to fantasize about them? Then to say that it makes us think we're God trying to control God's children? Common man. If I have to worry about violating consent and being labeled a predator just because I know as a man what I wanna do with you is wild. Modern consent culture in general is good, but pushes too far in a lot of ways to make being human unnatural. Words matter, and labeling what everyone feels as something akin to what a sexual predator would do, force and manipulate, just for doing something as natural as fantasizing, just causes more mental health problems in sex for men and women. I hope for the day when Christians can have a truly free discussion about sex, graphic and dirty and honest. And I say this as a Christian.
I really think love has various angles to it, and we can't really point to how someone should or will fall in love. Love is blind show may be manipulated by the producers or whatever, but we cannot rule out that it is a way of finding love. Technology has brought about online dating which in a way could be like love is blind. Back in the day, (and probably currently), there was a lot of arranged marriages and some couples actually met on their wedding day. And they managed to navigate through marriage and lived together on mutual respect and then love was established. We cannot rule out every way of finding love out there. I dare to say, God chose us and loves us, even though we have not seen HIM, we do love HIM. He gives us that free will to love HIM and we have loved HIM sooo. So our hearts can actually fall in love with what we have not seen in the physical. I hate to compare God in this but it's what came to mind.
🤣🤣 yes don't hug me it may be a trigger, just look at me from the side and nod your head😂 I'm celibate over here but at the end of the day it's a beautiful thing
Being raised in church, my mom didnt tell me abt my body parts....when i had my child i totally taught her vagina and penis...its important as a parent to teach our children abt sex not their friends, school, etc.
Oh my!!! I just had this conversation with my 7 yr old nephew about the word penis. He said it was inappropriate. I had to explain it is the actual name.
Dear Future Wifey idk if you know Apostle Chaun and Kadesh Jenkins but they would be great for your podcast they are pastors of NBOMI Church in Columbia SC 😊🙂 but just a mention..have a great day God Bless 😊
REMIND YOU CHILDREN THIS SPOUSE WILL BE AN ADDED BLESSING THIS PERSON LIKE US ISN'T PERFECT BUT TOGETHER WE'LL GET TO EXPERIENCE MORE LOVE, MORE OF WHAT WE ALREADY HAVE, NO ONE IS TAKING ANYONE'S PLACE WERE JUST MAKING SPACE FOR MORE OF OUR BLESSINGS I.E. AS A MOM THIS IS WHAT I'D TELL MY SON ETC. SCRIPTURE SAYS ADDED BLESSINGS SHOULDN'T ADD ANY SORRY THE BOOK OF PROVERBS 10:22 Your children should have nothing to fear but if you are blind then maybe they should.
Vagina and penis are ALL my family calls out anatomy! My Momma showed me pictures of my body and let me know the TRUTH about sex, pregnancy, menstruation and also a mans body. I was so uncomfortable I was young and she made me pay attention. I'm so grateful. I dated a man who's a widow and told me him and his wife never talked about sex beyond were they having any. He told me he talked more about sex and pleasure and anatomical correctness with me then the woman he was married to for 40 years 😮. I just find that astounding.
When I became a man I put away childish things. It’s childish to believe you deserve access to a woman’s body, womb for kids, and lifespan if you don’t have the money to take care of the family you asked God for. Men are built to handle more than us physically. If a man loves you he will not allow you to work yourself to death to take care of his survival needs. Or yours. Sex and respect are two of their primary needs. If you’re giving him that but he isn’t honoring your primary needs of financial stability etc how is the relationship fair and God honoring? Why do some men think it’s okay to take advantage of us and try to use scripture to justify that? It’s as simple as that. Even if I make more, you should be able to handle the financial burden. I have other burdens to handle. I shldnt have to do both. If someone is ill or incapable at some point then that’s different. But if not, the man shld be able to fully provide. Instead of telling women to marry men who can’t provide what wld be wrong with encouraging men to use the capabilities God gave them to be high earners? If we can do it can’t they do it times two or three? Y’all are stronger. You can work longer hrs ,more OT etc. the suitable helper comes to multiply but he still needs to have a PROPER foundation built.
I agree. My dad made $130K yearly but my mom wanted to be a schoolteacher so she worked, reared us, picked us up from school, took us to and from practice, work, etc. Dad took care of all the bills, food, gassed up every week, saved and INVESTED while my mom picked up the miscellaneous stuff, our clothing, school/sports fees, whatever little things we needed like everyday stuff that came up. When Daddy’s budget got tight to cover major maintenance expenses like new roof, foundational issues, save even more for college for 4 girls, new cars for 4 girls. She had his back, she was resourceful, picked up extra small jobs so we didn’t have to feel the budget changes. Whenever we went out to eat, Daddy paid but he made sure we thanked Momma along with him because even though he was the provider- Momma contributed in her own way as well. He made sure we didn’t forget that. Because of my Dad’s good stewardship and my Mom’s assistance they retire with a couple million saved. He plans for them to travel and live off half and reinvest the rest for his children/grandchildren’s inheritance. My granddad’s story is similar. He was less educated than my Granny. He let her get her degree as schoolteacher while he learned a trade in carpentry and welding. But he worked hard, he invested enough to pay for 24 hr care at home for my Granny when she was on a feeding tube for 4 years until her death so she could die at home in peace and dignity instead of a nursing home. He went to college and got his Bachelor’s degree with me and went back for his Masters degree with my cousin in his 70’s! I come from strong men that took care of their women and supported their families. That kinda legacy just prevents me from accepting a light bill man.
And men shldnt even accept that from themselves. You are better than that, men you are better than being a light bill man or leaning on a woman for survival. You are made in Gods image for greatness. Being a light bill man is beneath you!!
Laterras MEN are the ones who MADE THE MANS IDENTITY relegated to his finances. Women just followed suit. I appreciate the CPA for speaking about leadership one question that should have also been asked is “ even though his wife made more how did they handle the money?” I’m sure he still made sufficient enough money to be like babe ima do and handle. And for the most part broke men are also broke in spirit. The accountant and his wife are good. He’s truly a man after Gods own heart and he’s done the spiritual work on self amen 🙏🏾 he’s seeking to BE THE BEST MAN HE CAN BE. He mentioned that if that’s the best you can do ( a lot of issues is folks aren’t going after THE BEST they can do) God also sees and know it. There’s a curse on the land that’s why folks aren’t going after marriage because people don’t READ THEIR BIBLE.

Now that may be true for some but if I can be transparent, when I made my vow to wait until I get married. My mindset has not been negative to shift my focus. I just know what I want and I know that my future husband is worth the wait.
If any man you're dating, doesn't respect or Honor your decision. He is definitely not God sent❤
Yes, so true ✨
You’re so beautiful and the lord strengthen you. You’re in the right.

The Biblical story of Tamar being violated by her half brother illustrates the "danger" of lust. Perhaps she's using that as a reference.

SCRIPTURE SAYS ADDED BLESSINGS SHOULDN'T ADD ANY SORRY THE BOOK OF PROVERBS 10:22
Your children should have nothing to fear but if you are blind then maybe they should.
LTW, 3 days this week 🎉. I’m grateful for the worthy content. Keep soaring!
They be like “wee wee”…this is actually sad..
I LOVE THAT YASSSSS!!!
And men shldnt even accept that from themselves. You are better than that, men you are better than being a light bill man or leaning on a woman for survival. You are made in Gods image for greatness. Being a light bill man is beneath you!!
The older man was about to say something on the bonus dad topic.
Oh my… “we” have the same name 🤣🤣
There's nothing more sexy than A Praying Man of God❤ God has to be the head.. Kingdom Principal❤
