    That was nice of you to do that for a viewer, and thanks for posting for the rest of us.
    And nice of that rooster for chiming in, though I'm not sure I agree with his thoughts on that Panamera's brake calipers. I think silver or black would class it up a bit..

    Looks great! That said, I avoid black cars since they show every dirty mark, especially with all the damn dust floating around here in AZ

    Everyone needs to own one black car. Learning how to detail it is easy with all the practice. Love my car but never planning to another one. I truly enjoy seeing a freshly detailed black car

    Eight stone chips on the bonnet, that's bloody crazy. The paint finish should be stronger!

      @billandyeng 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      1 stone even managed to chip away a bit of the headlight on my Cayenne a couple of weeks back. Never had such problem with other cars in my life (or I was just super lucky / unlucky).

      Because the car is so low it picks up everything. Corvettes are the only other cars that get it worse.

    Yep, another one! And about Porsche. Watching it right now. Thx Nick. 😎
    After viewing the vid: would never buy black . You see everything on it. Otherwise a great specimen. Love the steering wheel. Hood needs works though, and protective film afterwards.

      I can concur from personal experience. I have a black Macan and the swirl marks and dirt on the tailgate detracts from an otherwise great car. Pretty much any other color would be better I think.

  • @tbone1493

    Great example of why it is silly to spend that kind of cash on a car and not do paint protection film. Personally I wouldn't buy this car, paint is swirled and shows signs of poor care and those chips and that front plate would drive me nuts.

    • @bernardortiz7351
      @bernardortiz7351 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I'd have the hood resprayed as part of the deal, and then would send the car to a good detailer to fix the flaws in the paint, then have it ceramic coated. After that, I'd put some film on the front bits over the ceramic. The ceramic should help keep the black looking great long after the detail. I had a large black Mercedes and it took me 3 days to get it fully detailed by myself - something I"m not keen to do again!

    • @ItisBean
      @ItisBean 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      After market paint and clear coat isn't the same as the factory ones, they are much softer. They may have slightly different color in professional's eyes as well.

    • @bernardortiz7351
      @bernardortiz7351 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well, what matters is the buyer's eyes and eventually, the next buyer's eyes. Swirls and chips would drive me nuts (hence the steps above), but the main point of the car is the drive...

    • @nikster22
      @nikster22 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      100% agree. First thing I noticed was the swirling on that rear fender flare.

    • @mozillagenesis
      @mozillagenesis 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      It's black, so it's going to have paint issues. Worrying about swirls and dirt on a black car is going to have you working on the paint 85% of the time while only 15% of the time you're actually enjoying it.

  • @billandyeng

    Here in the UK every OPC has a few "best customers" who buy at least 1 to 2 brand new cars from them every year. I bought mine with 12k miles on the clock and the previous owner clearly didn't give a toss about "clear bra". It's still astonishing to me how much money these people have. But on second thoughts, the profiits they baged on their GT3 and GT4 almost certainly more than made up for the depreciation on their other cars. Let alone if they were lucky enough to get a 911 R or 918 at MSRP....

    • @Baerchenization
      @Baerchenization 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      But I don't want a clear bra, it looks shite as it ages. If I wanted this car, I would buy it as it is, give it a polish and spend 10 bucks on original Porsche paint at the dealership. Porsche paint is super soft, dunno why though, the industry can make paint that is easily three times harder for over 20 years now. Just wondering what the roads are like where this car had been driven. I have almost 20K on a Boxster and only had to fix 2 chips in the hood and one next to the head light. OK, maybe I would want a bra anyway if it was as bad as for this car...

  • @michaels3897
    @michaels3897 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That many rock chips on the hood--and the windscreen was ok? With some of the touch-up kits available there really is no excuse for letting it get that bad. And black is really an easy color to touch up. Makes you wonder how he took care of the car mechanically.

    The bonnet needs a new coating or a very good smart repair expert. This should be done by the Porsche dealer, as they can get the get the factory sun-resistant Porsche coat fom BASF. With a third party coat, the bonnet will become a other color in the next years as the age diffrently..

    IMO, I'd rather pony up the difference and buy NEW. Id bet that like most 911's, it was "rode hard and put away wet". Buy new; why would you want someones 911 that they thrashed and dumped back off at the dealer....If you cant afford new, wait until you can and buy something in your true budget.

    On a car with this paint condition, would you push for less than asking price? If so, how much would you expect to lower it? I've been eyeing one somehwhat local to you in Wallingford for weeks, any chance you want to come help me get a good deal? :)

    I'd walk away from that car, lots of holograms on the left front quarter, too many rock chips. They left it dirty for a reason to hide the defects. That car was rode hard and put away wet if you ask me.

    Who in their right mind would spend near $100k on a 911 and not wrap the front end, at a minimum? I'm not a fan of black cars anymore, but I'd consider making a low-ball offer, given the obviously poor care the car has received.
