I'm from New Zealand, and it wasn't until I flew across Australia to Western Australia, that I appreciated just how amazing the Australian Aboriginal peoples are. That country is huge, inhospitable to most people in the world, flat, with very few landmarks, covered in poisonous insects and snakes, and yet its original people are peace loving, thrived when they could move around the land, and have a sensitivity that most city dwellers wouldn't even recognise. They need to be our teachers.

The Aztecs taught you Neanderthals how to crop. You have this distorted idea that the world has always been like it is now.
When I visited Australia, in sydney city i saw the aboriginal Australians playing their traditional music instruments. When I further studied their history i was very fascinated to understand that these people are quiet simar to our people in south India, particularly those living in traditional tribal areas of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The appearance of the people with their traditional "bhasmam '" (white paste applied on face and body), some of the tunes of their music, rytham and particular way of wearing (mundu) loin cloth to mention a few. Even type of fish they caught (seen in Parramatta inscription )is similar... We have to study our past more and more. Best wishes to all those who are trying their best to presrve our common herditory...
The DNA of aboriginal Australians diverged from all other people 50 000 years ago. There is a greater separation in their heritage than between Indian and European genetics. The didgeridoo was used only in the far north of Australia and was introduced to the people around Sydney only through contact with European colonists. Many tribal people paint their bodies Africans, Maoris, Papuans, Aztecs and ancient Celts all painted themselves with white clay it is a fairly obvious way to portray the pale skin of dead ancestors. Certainly not particular to the Indian race.

Ever wonder a culture and language that had no connection with the rest of the world exist?? That's how the modern experts differentiated tamil language. Very similar to aboriginals, Tamil people were always massacred everywhere around the world because of their very innocent and soft characteristics. @@somethingaboutyeverything8708 there is a lot of evidence that indicates some migration from India to northern Australia occurred around 6-4 000 years ago. Genetics language new tool making techniques and the introduction of the dingoes. What this indicates is a very small number of people arrived here. These people did not contribute any significant genetic change. They did introduce cultural change in the form of new stone working technologies. Also the dingo which had a significant impact on hunting and mythological stories. Similarities in language and appearance are possiblely inherited from more distant ancestry related to the early human migrations out of Africa 60 000 years ago. Isolated populations had less genetic exchange with outside influence and retained a smaller gene pool. Aboriginals are not "soft". They are a violently murderous and warlike people. Men carried clubs and shields and could throw spears with devastating accuracy and power.
that's because 7000 years ago Dravidian peoples from South India replaced the original population of Aborigines. Todays Aborigines are more closely related to Indians than anyone else.
My grandfather was from Australia. He died when I was 6. An autopsy proved he was over 100 years old. Orphaned by his parents as an infant. Raised by his grandparents until thier death when he was 10 years old. He stowed away on a ship to america when he was 11 years old. He did not remember his BIRTHDAY or year. He lied about his age to get jobs. He was a rancher, a church decon and most famous to me a sheriff who chased Billy the Kid and other outlaws. Linda Ransome, I enjoyed reading your story and sharing your sentiments. many of us South Indians are very dark skinned and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference with an Australian aboriginese - recently i had the pleasure of watching a video clip of an Australian aboriginal Junior class lesson - it sounded very Tamil - it was a lesson on the alphabet - Tamils have their own script but the Aboriginese lesson used the English alphabet - so i assume they do not have a script of their own - so you are absolutely spot on with your observation - there is a link with Indians and the Australian aboriginese -
@@turkeyneck5310 I agree with you about them having Indian and more likely Sri Lankan blood. If you look at old photos of native Sri Lankans they look almost exactly the same.
Nah Australia is the name given to the country made by white westerners. So don't go down that ignorant victimhood root.
Beautiful people that know how to live and prosper, in peace and in harmony with nature. A shame that their culture, the literature, the music, the technological achievements, are not appreciated more.
Frank Lesser you are deluded you need to pull your head out of your ass. " prosper in peace and harmony with nature" if spearing to death any one you don't know, violently abducting young girls from neighbouring tribes, is peace. And setting fire to thousands of acres of bush leading to the extinction of mega fauna is harmony with nature. " the literature, the music, the technical achievement " WTF they were (and largely still are) a paleolithic culture, they had no written language, no system of counting. Music ??? There is plenty of indigenous bands out there, didgeridoo has featured on many songs and movie soundtracks. But technical achievement seriously you are delusional, this kind of statement makes a mockery of common sense. Your ridiculous SJW bullshit has no basis in reality. Pick up a book and read some facts before you make idiotic crap comments
@Faye Flower the only "ridiculous generalization" here is the post I was replying to. Your statement is the usual SJW propaganda, subterfuge, misinformation, hypocrisy mixed with a good dose of bullshit. There is no evidence of trade with Asian fishermen before European settlement, this is a myth from 1930s anthropologists, based on the racist assumption that the tribal people of the far north are more intelligent and attractive (than other aboriginals) because they had " mixed blood". Tribal violence is still seen today both here and in native communities throughout Oceana and the Pacific, the ancient practice of "payback" killings has generated cultural violence right up to the present day. The same can be said in regard to violence against women with evidence of this behavior still persistent in the present day. There are also records of Europeans being attacked for no apparent reason, the story of the first governor Aurther Phillip who was speared in the shoulder when attempting friendly discourse is a well known reliable account from the very early days of contact. Modern aboriginals who still live in the traditional way are still burning the bush today, also it can be seen to have been burned every year at the same time every year in archeology, lightening does not strike every year. They extinction of the mega fauna coincides precisely with the first human incursions, if this is coincidence then it is a huge one. Genetic mapping shows people spread out across the continent very quickly, under 10 000 years, then became isolated in small tribal groups without much exchange of DNA or language up until European colonization.
@Faye Flower hahaha All your comments are lies and nonsense. Are you saying that a paeolithic society wasn't more barbaric. Go and live your traditional life, there is nothing stopping you. Knock your front tooth out, or cut your foreskin of with a piece of oyster shell or spear a wild animal to death and cook it by simply throwing straight into the fire or spend a few cold nights in a bark hut wrapped in stinking untreated animal skins and tell me how uncivilized we are. Rape murder and pillage were, and sadly still are, far more common amongst indigenous people than the settlers native law recognized abduction and rape as normal and not a crime, murder in the form of payback killing continues for generations and could continue in a cycle of violent revenge potentially indefinitely. Europeans outlawed these things as crimes punishable to the full extent of the law, these were all punishable by execution under British law at the time of colonization. As a percent of population indigenous represent less than 5% but in jail for violent crime over 30% so statistically way more likely to commit violent crime than Caucasian or Asian people. There is also some evidence that the people who got here 80 000 years ago were not aboriginals but, like the mega fauna, were driven to extinction by the more recent "invaders".
@Faye Flower no there is a big difference. Pedophiles have to go to Asia because our culture considers that to be abhorrent and won't tolerate child abuse recently as a society we have addressed the problem of pedophile priests. Within the indigenous society this behavior has not been adressed, in fact activists have fought hard to stop the law entering these remote towns and interfering with the abuse going on in their communities. The rate of abuse in aboriginal populations is 200 times that of the mainstream. Yet rather than have the courage to confront these issues you continue on a campaign of misery and blame over events that happened hundreds of years ago and involved no relatives of the people you are blaming but most probably involved your own white ancestors. Sad and pathetic.
@Faye Flower not to mention nuclear testing and eugenics. There is a lot of effort to help the aboriginal people by the community at large but segragation often occurs in more rural areas and homeswest housing does the same. These are poor low investment areas to begin with so the criminal stats are thru the roof for these areas, the victims of this are aboriginal children and other impoverished people at the end of the day, coming from dysfunctional families and ending up in the foster care system. This is usually a environment where they are living in houses with 6-12 other children all in the same situation this is essentially and extension of the stolen gen. Saying that the other guy has a point in that aboriginal culture isn't all flowers and love hearts. It often conflicts with the law and is understandably trying to preserve or rediscover their culture and do not like being interfered with or dictated to. Many I've met are really kind people and are stuck between there culture and the nation, they face a lot of pregidous from their own community, for even trying to make it and live "like a white person" which is pretty hurtful when they are trying to help there family and end the cycle. Also Australia has likely been terraformed by the aboriginals as the environment has adapted to reproduce when it is burnt down and it is likely because it was the method of hunting and also changing the area to flat grass land, which was easier to hunt certain animals on. Thankyou for reading that wall of text.

There wasn't a country to steal. There was a land mass that some ppl lived on. No sense of nationhood. Not even an awareness of anyone other than themselves and no real sense of property or ownership. The aborigines were treated badly, yes. But to right the wrong we need to stop fetishising their culture and wittering on about their supposedly rich, sophisticated culture and give them access to high quality education and training so they have the best chance of working to support themselves instead of the demoralising life on the dole so many have. Their connection to the land and ability to survive in its hostile environment is impressive but most do not wish to live in loin clothes and hunt snakes and turtles any more. Let's help them survive in this environment and move the fuck on for blaming white ppl for all their ills. If we hadn't arrived yes they'd be happy, but they would also have half the life expectancy, die in agony from bites from venomous animals and be eating each other. Nothing is perfect. Their way or ours. But if you think theirs is better, feel free to tear off your clothes, sharpen a stick and live in the wilderness eating snakes and turtles.
@Gort Newton I think you misunderstood. I said If they want to live as they had been before we arrived, they would have their life expectancy halved. They would live harsh, short lives, dying of snake bites and untreated injuries and fighting each other over petty tribal quarrels. I was making the point that this fetishising of their supposedly rich culture by some, (it's never was rich, how could it be with no writing or technology or even basic tools,) is unhelpful to the very people the profess to want to help. As to whether the aborigines were treated shabbily, there certainly were things done to them that were not good by today's standards but judging the past by today's moral standards is silly and fruitless. This idea that somehow they are purer in heart and more peaceful is flawed. Too often we look at peoples and think that they are good, simply by virtue of being victims. The fact is that had they the ability to be the victimiser instead of the victimised, they would have done so.

Melanesians are the natives of the Fiji and Solomon Islands who are a very isolated group meaning that they tend to only intermix with their own people (melanesians)… so therefore their bloodlines are purer and thus they are able to keep their traits. I strongly believe that this is because of the lost continent Lemuria( Kumari kandam in Tamil). If you look at the map of Lemuria, you can see that it connected today's Africa, Tamil Nadu(India) and Australia. And it is strongly believed by many scientists that Lemuria was a continent of Tamils. Even in our Tamil kings Chola and Pandya's history, they said that kumari kandam existed and was sunken. In Africa, most of the country's names are in Tamil. The names were the words related to heat in Tamil. Even in Australia, there are many cities named in Tamil. Also, just so you know the myth that we're all dead is a part of a strategic plan to wipe us out. There are many of us who are still very much alive and still have major claims to land in countries who's democracy would crumble if the world found out they were illegitimate. Canada and USA were founded under illegal practices and their claim to North America could be challenged on an international level.

@Faye Flower hahaha
All your comments are lies and nonsense.

So much racism and ignorance in Australia still today in the year 2018 these types of people say get over it and move on with it but its not that easy what if we tell you to stop your way of life your parents told you how to live and practice your way of living . why don't use get over it and except the truth We WAS HERE FIRST . we can't forget our falling warrior's our soldier's who fought for our land like you say least we forget for your falling soldiers who fought for a country they stole . always was and always will be the first people of this country. PEACE TO ALL

fortnite boys man they should teach so much more about aboriginal culture and history in schools the more people know the less ignorant they will be.
Cookie 123 no bro, people should get to know about there own culture not aboriginal culture there own because many people aren’t aboriginal and why should they have to learn it? White people dont get benefits
Such beautiful ppl so knowledgeable I love it ....I respect them to the fullest

Asians, Europeans, Middle Easterners, and Africans got to learn from each other's civilisation for most of history. On the other hand, aboriginal civilisations in Australia were isolated until recently so they had to figure out everything by themselves.
I love that is a documentary of these people looking at the world, and not the world at these people.
American here, I am deeply fascinated by the Australian aborigines, especially their culture and language (which I cannot find any sources to learn from), and it is a deep emotional hurt having learned how the aborigines lived for thousands of years uninterrupted, until settlers found their way to the continent.
It would be a dream of mine to actually spend time with the aborigines to speak with them to hear their stories and learn more about their history, and, maybe even hear the yidaki be played in person.
I want to feel connected through the language and the traditional song of the original inhabitants of such land with the oldest continuous culture on earth.

Yep, racism is a daily thing in Australia - from the shops, post office, chain stores, food stores, public transport, hospitals, corner stores! EVERYWHERE!
And wyt people still complain they have it tough!
Every year the government give out trillions to white organisations!
And they still complain about their roads, their schools, their rights in Aboriginal Country!
Melanesians are not African, melanesians are an entirely different ethnic group of their own. Melanesians are of the Pacific Islander ethnic group. Melanesians are the natives of the Fiji and Solomon Islands who are a very isolated group meaning that they tend to only intermix with their own people (melanesians)… so therefore their bloodlines are purer and thus they are able to keep their traits. Their blonde hair is solely due to the result of a genetic mutation, that they often pass on to their offspring and since they are an isolated people, they are able to preserve that genetic mutation. Melanesians are the only ethnic group/race that has natural blonde hair besides the Europeans/Caucasians.
There's a small group in a region in the south of China with a completely different genetic marker leading to blonde hair as well
However they have african blood they left african during non-African populations are descended from the same single wave of migrants, who left Africa around 72,000 years ago such as ab originals so yes thier native australian with some african
All humans come from Africa soooo technically they're African 🤷🏾♀

Ok
sorry to burst your bubble but your ancestors are the same as the whites you so despise. Both arrived by boat and both loved the country so much they decided to stay. You have been here far longer. Longer than all of the civilisations on this planet but other civilisations were born, learned, developed, built some magnificent structures, learned art, sculpture , medicine and developed the technology we all enjoy today. The people of your past did none of this.... they did not even develop the bow and arrow. They were at the same stage of development when 'the whites' arrived as when they first crossed from Indonesia. The same social structure and lifestyle as the Neanderthals. Your isolation did not promote the exchange of ideas and when the isolation was removed you were forced to play catch up, this new world moves so fast and is getting faster. Good or bad? I do not know but I do know there is no going back to a time where you could spend 70,000 years sitting on your bum and not work out how build a waterproof shelter.

Then I can prove beyond any shadow of a doubt that they cannot be any more than 3500 yeas On this continent. If you believe there dreaming, Stories. Only the aboriginal dreaming stories. My mother worked tirelessly, As well As thousands of White Australians. To give the aboriginal people Equal rights in Australia. My children play with aboriginal people. We had sleepovers and theyWent and stayed and had sleepovers. At our place we treat everyone as equal. If we have all the facts on the table. Then the young people Can make A correct Assessment Of the situation. Some white people and some black people are so racist that the truth may never come out. Unfortunately Laws are even being changed. To stop information. I wonder what people are scared of, Hiding behind superstition, Or realisingThat they have made a mistake. The cost is still the same embarrassment. Truth can only come at a price. Some people will fight to the death for pride. If only We can sit down and talk peacefully, Rationally, And responsibly, Only then Will the future young generations make the right decisions, Remember, If we only go by the aboriginal dreaming, And history. And I am talking about, Nothing before, The year BC, If I was givenThe opportunity to make a documentary on this . It would Shock the white people more than the black.
Often Wrong what can I say with that reply. Ignorance and stupidity, are substituted for truth. I like this man's nameI. In this case he is really wrong. I got all my information directly from the aboriginal elders. Obviously this man is not.

Facts are more incredible than conspiracies. If you get rid of philosophy and just go with fact and history. Then you have a great story. But remember most young aboriginal people have not even looked at an eighth of there Heritage. I have worked with many young aboriginal people when I talk young I'm talking 20 years old, and I am staggered at what they don't know. @@brianholloway1451 Yeah man I am myself a Tamilan from Tamil Nadu, India.
It's nice to hear that you want to make a documentary on the aboriginal people. Go ahead and try that.
Me being a Tamilan, saw the aboriginal people and instantly thought them as my own people. The similarity between Tamils and the aboriginal people is very high. Some Africans look similar to us also.
The recent excavation in keezhadi proved that Tamil is first language on the Earth.
The genes of Tamils, Africans and Aboriginal Australians are exactly the same. You must come to Tamil Nadu some time to explore some of the first people of the world.
All the best for your documentary.

There are many of us who are still very much alive and still have major claims to land in countries who's democracy would crumble if the world found out they were illegitimate. Canada and USA were founded under illegal practices and their claim to North America could be challenged on an international level. They often got the tribesmen drunk or they read different to them than what was on the legal document to get them to sign.
