Great question. All trailer manufacturers increase the weight rating of their trailers based on the estimated weight that the truck is carrying for the trailer. For example, Diamond C trailers like you see in the video comes standard with 2 X 7,000lbs axles. Add this up and it equals 14,000 (obviously). However, the trailer is rated at 14,900lbs because it is estimated that your truck will be handling some of the load of the trailer which is called "transfer weight." We hope this helps!
