Hello ya all I'm 702x owner. Bike is very comfy in touring, light off road no problem and it's very slik in heavy city traffic. Light weight. Good engine punch. Very tasty sound. No vibrations. Perfect tourer and daily commuter.
    Quality for money. It's a bargain :)

Just picked up my 702x yesterday... currently on 170 miles... Great handling bike . Good brakes ....shame the engine vibrates really bad below 4k rpms...no idea how you haven't noticed this because it is a known issue ...I also think there is little to no torque below 4 rpm ...my old 502x would pull in 6th even from 30 mph with no issues...the 702x despite supposedly having more power and torque just can't do it..I tried it many times today and it struggled to pull from 40 in 6th ..I think the bike gears are just too long for the engine...
If you use the gears for longer it's no problem but roll on power isn't great

    • @ontheroadadventure
      @ontheroadadventure  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@peter58murray I did comment on this, the bike likes to be in the mid rev range, that’s where its power is found, it does feel lumpy at low revs I agree. You’ll find the vibrations will improve as the engine beds in and you get the first service done

@@ontheroadadventure after my 140 mile ride today im currently on 300 miles and unfortunately my engine has developed what appears to be a cam chain rattle, the engine is derived from the Kawasaki ER6f engine which suffered badly from this issue and is well known,im also in communication with 2 other owners on Facebook, both now have the same engine rattle as myself, not impressed at all and neither are both of them.
the dealer has told me to take it back for inspection but if the history of the old ER6F unit is anything to go by this fault was never fixed by Kawasaki so i doubt Benelli will either.
have you got this same issue?
the rattle only happens between 3k and 4.5k rpms with my bike under load not stationary, after that it disappears but it can be heard even with earplugs

Great review Rich. I picked my 702x up on the 1st of march. I took my local dealers demo out very much thinking I wouldn't enjoy it due to the lower power and being a budget chinese built bike. How wrong I was, I didn't want to give it back! I've got and had some lovely premium bikes, but no lie, I enjoy this more than anything else. The finish is as good as anything else on the market, I cannot find fault in any of the welds or paint finish, it rides amazingly well and I think this bike will be what makes Benelli a brand everyone knows and trusts. Many people including my dealer say the engine is a very proven unit from Kawasaki.

It’s like the big main brands are so comfortable where they are at the top, they are squeezing the customer at both ends, charging more and giving as little as possible, it’s greed… Look at what happened to brands like BSA before the jap bikes came… They got complacent and then left behind. The Jap crap became the market leaders

I just collected mine yesterday, Took the plunge and ordered without having done a test ride, Initially I was a little unsure but after the 35 mile ride home I can honestly say I love it, The ONLY gripe I have is that the screen seems to be a bit small and I was getting some wind buffering, However I had already heard this in lots of reviews, so had gone ahead and purchased a larger GIVI screen which i'll install today.
Other than that, I found it really comfortable to ride and really gave me confidence on the twisties.

I have had 2 Benelli trk502x .The first one was a phase 1 back in 2018 and was a really good bike for a middle weight . Did some touring up to Scotland and performed really well albeit it lacked the extra horses for the long motorway work . My second one was a phase 2 and was completely the opposite . I bought it as a 6 month old Ex Demonstrator with 700 miles on the clock and it was awful . Within a month I had paint peeling off the centre stand , rear swinging arm , rust stains on every single weld on the frame . Corroded fasteners . The motor was as sweet as they come however build quality just wasn,t there. Maybe I had a bad one or it hadn,t really been looked after as a demonstrator . The first one I had no issues at all . I did contact the importers however got the answer “ you must be washing it wrong “ consequently really reluctant to buy another just in case .
I think if I had another I would have to powder coat a few of the ancillary parts that get the weather and be a little more liberal with the ACF50 . I think the 702 is what the 502 should have been from the start . Great down to earth review ,keep them coming

Great review as always. I really enjoy your commentary. I’ve owned the 702X for about 2 months now. I bought the bike unable to take a test ride because all the dealers near me were selling them as soon as one came available and didn’t have any demo bikes. I thought they must be good if that’s the case so I just pulled the trigger and went ahead and bought one. It was risky but I can honestly say it’s an amazing bike. Exceptional value for money and I just love the way it sounds and rides. Done about 1000 miles so far and the bike hasn’t missed a beat. Really informative review. I had an 1130 Amazonas trek.. It's probably the best looking big traillie i have ever seen.. It was let down by penny pinching on components. Indicator relays and starter solenoids were soluble. Unforgivable on a bike with off road pretentions. I don't like the beak on the newer models. Is causes the lights to be squashed into a smaller space and serves no function. I was put off of the 502 TRK because of the weight. The 502 was roughly the same kerb weight as the 1130. Why? I love that Benelli is still avoiding the useless crap modern bikes get by default. No Traction control, rider modes, cruise control or heated grips is a bonus in my eyes. If only we could permanently switch off ABS it'd be perfect. My present bike is the first one I've owned with TC and ABS. A waste of money imo. Just learn to brake properly folks. That motor sounds lovely and is much more bearable than the din from the triple in the Amazonas.

I was looking at the Benelli TRK 502 but after finding and recovering a stolen one, they weigh a tone. And there isn't any extra modes or traction control so for me, I'm saving for the BMW F 750 GS or F 800 GS, as they weigh less and they have all the fun gadets but that just means I'm paying an extra £4k+.

The Exhaust looks lower than the sump guard, in this World you get what you pay for, time will tell.

Yes, It would be good to see and hear from real people who have taken these and actually put real miles on it and had full adventures and see how it pans out for the Benelli
