I did the whole playthrough in about 3-4 hours in one sitting. It was fun. I had some random Sim interruptions, like making the mistake of allowing like 6 Sims to come stay overnight at my MICROhome! Then, I tried to convince Erwin to give me the keycard, but he wouldn't give it up. Instead he just fell in love with me and spontaneously proposed. We eloped after defeating the Mother Plant.
I hopped into the strangerville world completely unaware there was a whole storyline. My sim was a vampire, and there’s actually an option to become infected by drinking an infected sim’s blood. I did this (not knowing what it would do) and I made a lot of mistakes in my play through of the pack, but it was definitely a lot of fun! One my my favorite packs by far.
I wish this guide was out when I was doing this story quest I had such a hard time didn't know what I was doing didn't know where I was going didn't know how to do anything. Thank you Petey! You are the best! Cya later!
StrangerVile is one my favorit packs, from the world (minus the builds), to the cas and build buy, to the awsome story. I don't know why it seems to be unpopular but seeing this walk through makes me reminis on playing through the story line. Honestly, I think I might have to go play it agian
I agree, definitely underrated. I'd love to see more storyline packs, like a medieval theme or futuristic. I even think the Batuu pack would have been better if we could have played through a Starwars themed story.
I know. I just started a career legacy. I hope to do all the careers (in packs I have) in the game eventually. I started with the military because I haven't done Strangerville since it came out. I started him as a teen. I rolled a dice and he will have 5 kids with whoever he goes for. One of his (non heir) kids will do the second military branch, so that career will be complete, then the heir can move on. Not sure which one yet though.
I just finished the mystery this past weekend! I deliberately didn't read anything about how to do it, and so had so discover everything myself, and that was really fun. It took me three tries to figure out how to defeat the mother plant. I had to keep increasing the number of compatriots and also the amount of vaccine ( I ended up with 3 extra doses to throw at her, which really helped.) I also had trouble keeping my compatriots in a group (they wanted to leave), so I ended up creating a club. I never knew about the options that would pop up if you revive her!
I am doing this with a vampire and I am a bit annoyed but I love how the possessed emotion fills my thirst need. I was heading out to get a bite (pun intended) when suddenly possessed and I was happy because I want this sim to be good
I didn't know the mother could kill you need to add that to my death list I love to add stories to my run throughs and I have several variations so far 1) the Scooby Doo variation- So I befriend the curio vendor and start a club with a paranoid sim that has a requirement and open registration for any other paranoid sim. While searching for like minded Sims my main character does the parts of the aspirations they can. As soon as there is at least one other member they meet at least once a week at the library or bar to research/recruit personnel with knowledge to be connections and once a week in a basement because...paranoid. Anytime we go to the lab we also go as a club and you can't start going ot the lab until you have at least 4 club members including your main aspiration sim. This makes fighting the final fight more interesting because your alien fighting team has been together the whole time. I also use something like this for paranormal stuff to have a club/ghostbusters for haunted houses. 2) the Whistle Blower variation- This is if you are a scientist career and you find out that the other "lab" has had an outbreak so you try to find other scientist to help you save the world - again its along the lines of like-minded people 3) teh Secret Service Variation. - For this one I turn one of the lots in strangerville into a military base or a secret service safe house and use the military career and enlist nothing but soliders. My character has to be the top rank and have the authority to put together a " response team" first. These guys rent the "base of operations" and get as much done as they can before they have to "report back to washington" for a week to get more funding 4) the Hacker - this is for my sims with high computer programming skills. They only use hacking for the information gathering and bug plants. when they need more people they can only approach people they have blackmailed with bug planted information to simulate bxeing able to hack their personal information and for every person they must hack the mainframe to get information as well. 5) the Mother worshipper- This person is smitten with mother and loves her and after finding her becomes a disiple out to spread her seed to the world and is attempting to get every NPC in the world infected. ( they typically do not live in strangerville and leave it at max chaos ( if they are on the aspioration they never take the vaccine themselves or they purposely reinfect themselves and revive the mother) they must have max relationship with the mother so spam those socials 6) the drug dealer/ drug addict - This goes into playing with infection trait refill effect. The addict is just interested in ingesting fruit for their own "buzz" and only work on building skills to job objectives while they are "high" and they do not eat or sleep besides drinking more strangefruit juice. Drug dealers create strange fruit fizzy drinks and sell them for profit. A shady looking back alley like type community market lot is great for this storyline and also using someone in the criminal career and their "gang" 7) pandemic Doctor- This is a dr who lives in a world of mostly infected people. They live at the lab making vaccines to try and cure the world one sim at a time (between shifts at the hospital)
Omg thank you for this awesome comment Elaina! I absolutely love the different playthroughs you have, especially the worshipper and the pandemic doctor. Both so cool! Thank you again for sharing and I hope you're going well!

Off topic kinda but if Aliens didn’t come out in Get To Work, they would have probably come out in the Strangervile pack. I mean, it would kinda explain how Mother Plant came to strangervile. She and the other plants might have been a plant group or something on sixam and some spores ended up in strangervile while Aliens were on Earth in the area. The aesthetics are even similar! Mother plant has a similar color scheme to the Sixam planet, and the bizarre plants would definitely fit the alien planet. I could see an issue if that happened though, as aliens in the sims 4 wouldn’t be as fleshed out, and Strangervile might’ve been an expansion pack instead if aliens were in it. The storyline might have been more complex though and we would maybe have more clothes and build items, which isn’t actually a bad trade. It would be an interesting contrast to the retro movie vibe with the futuristic vibe of the Aliens. (Small detail by the way but the curio shop had an alien painted on it, so it would be good foreshadowing to the fact aliens were involved).
I play rotationally and in the initial save file, I had a sim doing the quest, but got distracted after the first spore release and when we returned the house was empty except for the Roswells. Story progression is starting to repopulate - thanks for giving me the insight to encourage me on!!
I've done this one. Was really hard to get the mother plant but after making 25 vaccines which was probably too much I defeated her. I got my Sim back and got her to eat the bizarre Fruit. But I was nice and gave her the vaccine. I think if you got a whole town to eat fruits you could recreate anywhere. I love your vids and always looking forward to more
I had my witch copy the vaccines like 20 times, handed 5 to each of my other 3 sims for the final fight. I had 2 wizards 1 werewolf and 1 vampire. Only the wizards made it. The other 2 passed out 😂
Oh bless you for this comment. I bought the pack ages ago but only installed it today, and when Petey started talking about the grind of collecting stuff for the vaccines I started glazing over. I'm not a collectable person at all in TS4... I am however always a max rank all spells Spellcaster. My scientist sim, his Servo, and his aimless, unemployed spellcaster brother just started the storyline tonight. So far most of my progress has come from the spellcaster flirting with every townie he meets to acquire information, which he then gives to the brother. Spellcaster just wants into that secret lab to befriend the Mother, and because he loves weird occult plants. I can't wait to have him copypasto the one vaccine I bother to make lol. Thank you again!

Interesting discovery while doing this quest, if your Sim has a college degree that allows them to advance in military...You can impress your fellow military personnel by doing push-ups. Witnessed it in my game.
This means that only one sim per save file can complete this aspiration, right? Since you can control only one sim doing this aspiration and unlocking its reward.
You can do it multiple times per save you just have to revive the mother between each attempt. I play a long legacy save file where it may be a few generations between mother encounters so when you get to the point of discovering the mother you can revive her then or immediately after you kill her. The military career can request the keycard without hte aspiration and i have had secret agents complete the storyline without the aspiration as their work from home task

I had my sim buy two. He gave the first to his spouse then went back the next day for the second. When he got the spore filters, he asked two different scientists (already his friends) for them at the same time, and they both came together in the mail. He gave one to his spouse (not her aspiration) so they both had hazmat suits. The other two team members were not in the household so I have no idea how to give them suits.

Ok, its a small thing but it really bothers me. So. I start the quest. I do all them things. One of my friends is George, the airplane guy. He is an unemployed elder, and meanwhile, at the beginning of the mission, he asks if he should take a career challenge. Go for it, GEORGE! I say. So we reach the "vaccinate thy three friends and go to the lab together" part. We go. Through the door, down to the lab, even lower, next to Monther's entrance. Counting my team. One, two, three... ? Where is George?? GEORGE?! George is an elder, and I thought he would take a while longer to go down the stairs. But NO. GEORGE LEFT TO GO TO WORK!!!!!!! GEORGE considered that his level 2 job in programming is more important than saving the whole damn town. So we had to sit for 7 sim hours for him to get back home. FU George!

FU George!
