In Greek Mythology Sirens had the body of a bird and the head of a woman, they aren’t the same as mermaids. Mermaids were mainly painted as evil a long time ago, but due to the misunderstanding between sirens and mermaids, the mermaid’s reputation got better.

Mermaids aren't paranormal since they're not ghosts/spirits, but I do agree that they're unfortunately underrated and I wish that they'd refresh the Island Living EP and completely revamp mermaids! 🙂

To make merpeople more supernatural, I have started to set the males as able to get pregnant and the females as getting others pregnant, inspired by seahorses
I may add one! - The feral mermaid The feral mermaid is my favorite to play as! I make a mermaid sim, give myself 0 simoleons, and run away to the sea, and ONLY the sea! And if you have the Expanded Mermaids mod, that makes it oh so much more fun, because you can eat kelp and sleep underwater!

When it comes to mermaid lore, good/benevolent mermaids like Andersen's Little Mermaid seem to be the exception rather than the rule.
I had an pregnant merman one day, and I let him in the ocean living under the siren's call. When he gives birth, it was triplets because he never feels sad or stressed 👌
Until today I didn`t really liked playing as a mermaid in The Sims 4, especially the fact that I regularly had to take care of the hydration and stuff like that - but, well, now I`m really thrilled to do so once more. ;) Thank you very much! ♥
Hydration is not so harsh in 4 like it was in 3, if you want to put your sim doing some activities, summon the rain and they'll be slowing hydrated. I've doing it often with my painter merman
I made an off the grid mermaid living in an island, and used the pirate ship from get famous to make it look like she’s living in it😼 added seashells and treasure and it was complete
Great video, Petey, but you missed a mermaid type: Siren! Their skills could include Singing, various Instruments, Media Production, Dancing, and maybe DJ Mixing. You could also have them be Good or Evil and make use of their Siren's Lullaby powers.
I made an off the grid mermaid who gets her own power and water. Finding collectibles and fishing and selling as I go to make my money. Its a pretty nice way to live having a lot of free time to relax on the island. Plus I get to have a dolphin! :D

She sells seashells down by the sea shore... then you remember that ancient peoples used to use seashells as currency. In other words, they may have spent sand dollars as actual dollars.
I really like the big aquarium you showed. Are there any of those as rooms premade on the gallery or do you have a video showing how to build and place the various objects inside once the glass walls are up?

I've created two weresalmon that are spies. Sans actual marine saboteur gameplay mechanics. If I could make them jump higher, fight sailors, or carry weapons (like a harpoon,) I'd be that much closer to having a decent Anarteq game pack. I also made one a were-shark, so I can have Kamohoalii in the game. Still working on Merrows. They're a bit harder to get right.
There is a mod for a Siren trait (extremly seductiv) and a Siren aspiration that includes seducing many sims. I love to combine that with evil traits and make an evil seducing siren
How come it's so hard to find a content creator who has male mer-people? After all, *someone* has to keep the mer-bloodlines intact over time... I've thought about this a couple of times but still haven't made a merman yet...I kinda chalk that up to "personal aesthetics" in my game & leave it at that.

I have decided to make my merman an inventor. My ultimate goal for him is to create a servo and attend a university. Unfortunately, in order to do this, he must train himself to level 8 of the robotics skill, and create more robot parts in order to create his robot.
That's funny, I just made a mermaid yoga instructor, basically for the exact reasons you said. He and his roomies live in Tartosa*. I kicked out all the starter families there and made a bunch of mermaids. I specifically made a spa for him to go work at. Now that I think on it, his roommates are a flirty mermaid and an evil mermaid. Hmm... we had a few of the same ideas! I wanna try an off the grid mermaid now. *I know people hate that pack, and I understand why, but I think it was worth the price, just for the world it came with. Wedding town? Nah. Mermaid town! They're living their best Mediterranean life!

Mermaids are the most underrated paranormal sim in TS4. After watching your last video about them, I made one on that island and had SO much fun!

I think mermaids get sad moodlets when they eat fish, but I can’t remember for sure. It’s been a while since I played one.
