for the immortal ability, i think it actually resets aging back to the start every day I play with aging on and have this perk for multiple werewolves and they have been young adults for a while so your also immune to aging :) i didn't know about the other perks of the ability tho

Anon! Thank you so much for commenting. A few people have mentioned so I did more testing and you are right! At 2am my werewolf would age, and then at 7am they would reverse age. Thank you so much for flagging! And apologies for the incorrect info in the video.

    • @bloodwolfgaming9269

That's pretty cool. But I found you gotta be careful about the raw meat your werewolf Sim brings back if you are living with non-werewolves. My werewolf sim would go hunting and come back with a couple pieces of raw meat. He'd eat one and I'd have him put the rest in the fridge so it wouldn't spoil. But then like immediately after, my other Sim who isn't a werewolf would go to the fridge to get a snack when they are hungry and they always tend to grab the raw meat then get upset/sick for eating raw meat.

The raw meat has "interesting" effects if non-werewolves eat it. They'll get angry and go all Gordon Ramsay with a moodlet that says "IT'S RAWWWWWWW!!!!" So funny! Also, werewolf toddlers and children can eat the raw meat with no problems so it is an easy way to feed kiddos when money is tight. I like the hunting perk, tbh and a lot of my werewolves have developed the carnivore temperment which means they have to eat it.

    • @jayemover_16

It also pairs well with the Simple Living lot trait since it provides a source of meat besides the grocery store or needing to sacrifice and wait for livestock meat. We'll just pretend the mystery steaks are venison.
The downside is that it counts it as both an ingredient and a complete dish, so human Sims will regularly pull raw steaks out as "leftovers".
When paired with wolf nap, grooming and marking territory, hunting allows a werewolf to live entirely off the land in a very animal-like fashion.

Worth noting with cursed bite just biting someone is usually seen as a negative. But if you are friends with a sim you can ask them if they want to be a werewolf and they will hold out their arm and let you bite them for the curse. Its just a neat little extra way to play if you don't want to be some crazy werewolf that bites everyone but you still want to expand your werewolf family. Also you cannot bite other occults for obvious reasons.

Natural Healing will come in handy with Snowy Escape. Not only will it let your sim do mountain activities sooner, but it also helps to prevent death by falling and death by vending machine.
Lunar Epiphany also lets your sim read the parts in werewolf books that were previously unreadable. While these are mostly lore, your sim might also discover the cure, how to make grilled luna fish, gives you secrets about the tunnels (which can lead to more discoveries) etc.

I'm just so glad Werewolves have Legacy of the Lycan that allows simmers to dump power points into it. Really wish Spellcasters and Vampires will be updated soon with perks like this. The Spellcaster ability panel literally has a gaping hole for at least 2 more perks already. The only thing left is to expand the Vampires' ability panel and let them have a new ability to turn extra Power Point into satisfaction point. I recognize that Mermaids, Aliens, Plant Sims and Ghosts are getting kicked in the head here, but it'd be so cool to see the top 3 occults get updates to be more well-rounded. Extra power points should be turned into something beneficial.
Also I notice a funny thing: With Lunar Howl, you can change your wolf's temperament and stop Fury from increasing, like at all (with the addition of the Refined Lupine trait in my case). It's like your Werewolf becomes almost unable to rampage. With Vampires, you can let them have Deadened Emotions. It feels like leveling up your Vampire & Werewolf allow them to attain nirvana & be free of extreme negative moodlets. Pretty cool of the teams to think of this. When you've achieved power, you stop being influenced by emotion. I hope in future update there'll be a tome/diary that addresses this cool point. Like the Grand Master of a Vampire clan and the Apex of a opposite Werewolf pack turned out to be just super mild-mannered & relaxed sims that want nothing to do with fighting, and just want to work on some ancient totem/artifact together to end the feud between the Vamps and the Spellcasters/Werewolves.

22:32 I have to disagree and think werewolf mastery should be an unlockable power, especially for sims who became werewolves by being bitten. When You have the beast inside of you whether through a bite or being born with it, the beast will always be wild and vicious. That being said it will obviously be hard to control at first. Especially if you were bitten, having an uncontrollable wild entity inside of You fighting for dominance of your body. But within time you'll learn to control it and work with it. Kinda like the relationship between Eddie and Venom. Also like in the underworld movies. Newborn or recently bitten Lycans can only transform during a full moon and it's slow and painful, while elder lycans can transform at will and it's painless for them. Also in some cases if you don't learn how to take control of the beast, the beast will take control of you and you'll go feral and be stuck in werewolf form forever

I want to add that, while I can't 100% confirm this, I'm pretty sure that when you attempt to unlock transformation mastery that it includes not scaring any pets in addition to not scaring people. I lock my werewolf either outside or in a certain room when he starts to have high fury. You cant lock doors on the actual rampage but I usually take care of some of his simple need and if I have enough time I lock him in a room with nothing to break or just outside and outside he just territory marks and scavenges over and over again. Pretty effective 👍. Also when I got the territory mark he just spontaneously peed randomly and it was hilarious

One thing that wasn't addressed is whether the Natural Healing power affects injuries from other packs, like the Dazed moodlet from getting zapped on Robotics Workbench, the injuries you can get from the woodworking bench, or injuries and poisons from exploring the Jungle. the Robotics one happens way too often, even at high skill, and lasts a ridiculous 3 hours. It would be great if that power could knock it down to an hour.

  • @HeatherNickless-vt8zr

If you want to fulfill your werewolf's social achievements you need to have him or her start out as a tame wolf which is a lot harder done than said and it will be hard enough without actually trying to build them up to environmentally dangerous beasts first.
I like werewolves, but spellcasters get more benefits from gems than werewolves do when not selling them off for money.
Eating Raw meat does replenish a werewolf's hunger better than simply devouring objects despite the devouring action being more fun to watch.

  • @VelkanKiador
    @VelkanKiador ปีที่แล้ว +2

Here are a few thoughts on some of these werewolf abilities I have.
    Ferocity:
This has been a really helpful power in my sims paranormal investigator pack in one regard. Scaring away a particularly bothersome ghost on expert gigs named Temperance. Which does make the job a hell of a lot easier.
    Scavenger:
Didn't know this lowered the anger. I willl definetively put this to good use now.
    Voracious Hunger:
Also helpful on the paranormal gigs, as werewolves can eat spectres. Does this advance the meter? No. But you can eat all the ghosts, clean their mess, and what remains of the meter you can finish with rituals now that the spectres aren't there to interupt.
    Tunneler:
I wish there was a switch like "Always be Tunnneling" that you could put on. Making your werewolf automatically tunnel everywhere whenever outside. Kinda how Superspeed works really. I'd also put it so you can have both Tunneler and Superspeed activated at the same time, meaning when outside the werewolf will tunnel and when inside the werewolf will run in superspeed... Well run on all fours at least (as I don't like superspeed).
    Superspeed:
I sincerely wish werewolves didn't have superspeed, as that feels like a very vampire ability. And it just looks sillly when werewolves do it as their running on all four animation is just sped up. I would have honestly changed this to be something more like "running on all fours" or something. In that the werewolf still runs faster than most sims when on all four, but it's not superspeed. Giving it more distinct vibe than the superspeed. And I'd be willing to take the L on that despite being team werewolf between werewolves and vampires.
    Immortality:
You know, this feels more like vampire immortality really. You can gain this ability in your teen years and never age from the point where you gain it. And vampires whole thing is that they are frozen in whatever age they got turned into a vampire. How would I change this to add a more werewolf flare? I'd make it so this ability only keeps a werewolf aging half of the month, aka the month where the lunar cycle is closer to the full moon than not. And I'd keep the "can't be killed by anything" aspect of it too, only it's also tied to half of the month when it's closer to the full moon. It creates a scenario where the werewolf has to be more careful and keep an eye on the lunar cycle, and only pick fights with Vampires when the time is right. I do like that Vampires, Werewolves and Witches all have different variation of immortality, and wish more occults did that. Vampires don't age at all, witches don't die of old age but can die in other ways if they drink a potion, ghosts are stuck being the way they were when they died, servos are machines etc.Just wish more occults had this, and the werewolf variation felt more werewolf than vampire. And here are ideas for what kind of immortality a few other occults could have. Aliens could have mastered medical technology to keep things like age and illnesses at bay, but it's a active kind of immortality where you do need to regularly take a science fiction medicine to maintain that eternal youth and immunity to illnesses. And it can't reset your current aging. Mermaids could work a bit like succubuses, they need to lure others into the ocean to feed on their life force. And when they do their current aging resets. The plant sims could plant plant sim babies, that turn out to be idendical clones of their plant sim parent when they grow up. And fairies could age normally, but whenever they return to the fae realm they reset their current aging.
    Lunar Howl:
Kinda useless as I pick whatever traits I want anyway with cheats. I am honestly just not a fan of how the perks are asigned randomly. Like I have had things like my vegetarian werewolf got the trait carnivore, and my spoiled rich kid werewolf became anti-capitalist. Both kinda interesting concepts, but neither one I chose for myself. I think it would have simply been better to let players choose, ditch this ability entirely and come up with one extra ability. Like did you know that pre Wolfman werewolves were people who fell asleep and their dream selves became regular wolves in the waking world while their body is still asleep? That seems like it could have been fun to toy around with instead.
    Werewolf Diplomacy:
No notes, this is just perfect. Wish other occults had this, like wouldn't it be cool if we could have werewolves that are vampire allies to counteract the initial negative feelings werewolves have towards vampires?
    Transformation Mastery:
... Sigh. I do have a lot of feelings on the werewolf transformation. Not a fan of how you transform when losing control of your rage, or how you can learn to master it. I think it would have been more special to have the werewolves only transform during the full moon, as that makes it more rare that we see them transformed and builds up anticipation. Also the full moon thing is what separates werewolves from other shapeshifters. I am not a fan of how you can regain control and transform back during the full moon. As it makes full moons even less special when you don't have to spend that night as a rage monster. And lastly I am not a fan of how the werewolves still talk like humas even when transformed. Also while I learned to like the werewolf design there are still aspects I'd like to see changed. But no single change could have fixed the design, and the werewolf honestly would need a complete overhaul to work for me.

  • @lilhedgehog8576

I think it should be a lockable ability because in werewolf movies, they have to learn to take control of when they transform, and when they don’t.

one thing I'll add is that it explicitly does not appear to count if you rampage during a full moon. as in, you need to rampage due to normal fury gain, not the full moon.
Where ways to ensure you don't scare someone accidentally:
      - Keep them locked in a room or house with no one else there
      - Try to get the rampage on a lot that sees very little traffic and preferably at night (I recommend going to Moonwood Mills at night, since it tends to be fairly abandoned, just as long as you don't hop into the bar which sees a lot of traffic)
      - Focus your werewolf's rage into productive things away from anyone else--savagely go *here*, scavenge, smell, tunnel, and don't let them howl (pack howl is fine) because then they'll run back to where they started to howl there too, which isn't always an issue, but if you were, say, keeping them around the lake and then they run back to the bar ... yeah

Ooh I may have an answer for you Darchy. I think this relates to the scent they give off, and the general smell interaction will reveal this. For example I found that flirty sims often gave off a pink scent, and angry sims a red scent. So I think this is what the description was pointing to.
