I did be curious if you can do a follow-up with Clifford Sosin in 2023. His portfolio got decimated in 2022 and one of his investments in Party city went to 0. It would be great to hear how Clifford is handling this reversal of fortune and whether he still has strong conviction in his portfolio of stocks.

Cliff is criminally under-followed for how thoughtful and how deep he thinks. Not to mention astronomic returns but those are just the product of the depths of his thinking about businesses.

Excellent interviews. Love that you have the investors give their detailed thesis on companies. And your questions are excellent. I think this separates you from being just another value channel

Unreal. _"There's no one more knowledgable on Carvana."_ Umm, NO. Just NO. This guy is a TERRIBLE investor. His returns are NOT "world beating." Please do your homework. This guy has vaporized more than 50% of all capital ever placed with him. His "knowledge" of Carvana is nothing more than him regurgitating the sales pitch Ernie Garcia gave him. Check the history of the Garcias (the father, Ernie II is the guy that really pulls the strings and calls the shots). Ernie II is a life-long fraudster. Yes, he pled guilty to a host of charges. Carvana was set up as an enrichment scheme for the Garcias sucking money out of uninformed investors without the capacity for critical analysis of a business model and financials. Ernie Garcia has sucked more than $4 billion out of the company -- he could buy the company more than twice over with what he schemed and scammed. But he won't. Because the plan is to run it through bankruptcy, then buy the assets he wants from the creditors for pennies on the dollar. Equity-holders are going to be wiped. And if a person does even basic research, they'd find out this will be the third time Garcia has pulled this scam. He pulled the first round-trip with Ugly Duckling (UGLY) which he pumped in the market bubble of 2000.

BTW, Q1 2020, Sosin had more than 78% of his fund's assets in two companies: CDLX and CVNA. They are down 95% in the last 18 months. Honestly, if I told you to go out and find the biggest 2 POSes you could find and forced you to put 100% of your net worth in a short on them, you literally couldn't have done much better than these two. This guy is the ultimate example of failing up, and that a large swath of the investment business is still about sales and connections, not ability, performance or results.

@@SohrabAlborzian Lol, Q2 results and a new CEO. Pretty much the same thing, in line for a great future. Imagine judging someone by how much they changed in a month's/year's time. Now imagine judging someone on the basis of what other people think happened, not even looking at what actually happened. That's pretty much what looking at the price is.
You should take a look at crypto though, tooooons of opportunities there. Especially when the intrinsic value of almost anything with proof of stake is 0. All the fancy forks and marketing, it's all makes a lot of sense (if you want to lose everything you put in).
Quality comment on your side though, keep up the good work.
