    Great review! After being out of the Corps for 9 yrs, decided to re-up (army guard). I tend to buy my own gear and have been experimenting on some packs at the moment. Been eyeing this one for a while but there hasn't been a lot of reviews on this specific one. Was gonna get an Alice style pack(it's what I used in boot & MCT) but I think I might go for this one. Thanks. Semper Fi!

    Nice review, fast, informative and no fluff talk like in many german reviews ;-) Just one thing to add: Wisport is a polish army supplier who makes the backpacks for the polish armed forces (so no Swedes or Danes here ;-)). But they produce really good packs. I actually wanted to get an old ILBE from the states but these have gotten so expensive on eBay lately that I will go for this one, especially now that you say it was better than the ILBE. How bout the waist belt - is it as comfy as the ILBE's?
    Thanx! Greetings from Germany!

      Thanks! and good info about it being a Polish pack, my mistake! I have been pleased with the waist belt. It is much better then the FILBE waist belt and about the same as the ILBE waist belt. It is nothing fancy but it gets the job done and it gets small enough to fit my waist which the FILBE does not.

      Doc Fisher, I live in Poland, Wisport is a private company, has never been associated with the Polish army and especially Polish special forces. Wisport never had a contract with the Polish army for the supply of backpacks. For Polish special forces, the supplier is another private company called Callida. The fact is that Wisport does really goods and armor backpacks, for reasonable money. For regular Polish army, backpacks are sewing a completely unknown company, unfortunately I do not know her name.

      Doc Fisher, no problem buddy, here's the link to other company called Callida. They apparently make backpacks for Poland Special Forces, only. Not for regular army. Btw, pack looks like Tasmanian Tiger, lol. But the fact is that the making is perfect, the carrying system is very comfortable.

      Do you still have this pack, please? And if you do, how's it holding up?
      I've made up for years with a Czech made JUBO Zalesak - it is very comfortable, 25 litres with many attachment points, but I'd like a pack without various crap tied to it. :)
      So, I'd like something about twice that size.
      I'm currently trying to decide which Wisport (Reindeer 55, Reindeer 75, perhaps Racoon 45) to buy.
      And regarding the volume - I plan to remove the Reindeer side pouches to make it more streamlined. Does removing the side pockets from the Reindeer 55 mean I'll end up with a smaller pack? That the Racoon 45 would be 45L, Reindeer 55 would be 37L and the Reindeer 75 would be 57L?

    About how much are these on avg? Do they make ones with MOLLE all round? I like to add whatever I want, where I want. I prefer my ILBE with assault pack attached, but want a backup in case something happens to my ILBE, as they are getting bought up here in the states and I pack gear heavy, meds heavy, weapons heavy, and ammo heavy. I see places on that ruck I can attach the assault pack (or a MOLLE assault pack of similar kind and dimensions) and I can add MOLLE to the top zipper pouch (which I do use. I also prefer the zipper on the outside because I often carry extra meds meds and pre loaded mags in there, plus in the ruck. I wear my tac vest/plate carrier, helmet, and carry enough extra rounds [in mylar bags made with a food vacuum sealer] to reload each mag at least once). I lash my sleep system in a compression sack (especially since they modified the black middle layer to a gray one that's good to 10 below 0 degrees F. I can roll my foam sleep pad up with that, my 1 man tunnel tent and rain fly, woobie, put that in a compression sack lashed to the bottom MOLLE of my ILBE or straps on the bottoms of various rucks, and I'm good). I make extensive use of MOLLE pouches both on the webbing on the ruck, my vest, and inside the bag where I MOLLE bags together, label them, and put them in compression sacks. I do like the extra pouch on the bottom. Seems like a good ruck. Better than the ILBE? Not IMO, but to each their own and it does seem really nice. Does it have heavy duty stitching all on the ruck and box an x at stress points like on the straps attachment points? Is there internal organization on the main compartments? If not, I can buy a MOLLE panel and use liquid stitching to add some zipper pockets inside

    Just saying this is not built or even used by Finnish military. I´m from Finland and I´m pretty sure even Swedish don´t use this. Wisport is Polish company and It's developed in collaboration with Polish Military forces.

    Hi !
    I was about to buy a Karrimor SF Sabre but then I saw this backpack, it looks more confortable but also lighter. I have a question though : could anybody tell me how waterproof the fabric of this backpack is please ? Has it been treated with some water repellent ?
    Thnaks in advance for the help !

    • @Creating4lpha

      Its a little bit water repellant, like most gear. but a good soaking will get through. You could spray it with water repellant i suppose, though I never have, if it rains I use a pack cover.

    • @MatthewASileo
      @MatthewASileo 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      No the actually main pack is 75L the two pouches are 9L each, bringing the total volume up to around 93L. Wisport does this with all of their higher end models such as the Racoon 65 and 85 and. Reindeer 55 and 75L. Each one of those comes with 2 9L pouches so add 18L to anyone of the those to get the total volume. For example the raccoon 85L is actually 103L with the two side pouches added

    • @joshhoppring5051
      @joshhoppring5051 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MatthewASileo just to confuse things, I asked Military 1st and Wisport themselves who confirmed that's not true. This 75L pack is 75L including the side pouches. It is the total capacity...
      So that's 57L main + 9L + 9L
      Same with the Wildcat, so I imagine it's the same with all

  • @ozdavemcgee2079
    @ozdavemcgee2079 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    These arent bad packs for the money. The back adjustment WILL work loose. But its easily rectified assinf some velcro to hold it in your setting.
    My only dislike is the side pouches. I like PLCE pouches like on Brit army issue or Karrimore packs. They have a seperate harness to turn them into daypacks. They are 12 litre capacity. The ones on this are 9 litre capacity. Plus on some versions they have a second sleeve that will hold a 3lt bladder.
    That being said good packs for the money. The padding is comfortable but seems to hold up well so far.

      Like I said, I bought this about 9 months ago and since then have done over two months with it in the field and it has done very well. I think it is a good pack and well made. Its alot more ergonomic then most military packs, but not as ergonomic as some civilian packs. It doesn't have alot of fancy features but it will get the job done. Best of luck on your decision!
