I saw Madonna live twice on her homecoming concerts in Detroit at Cobo Arena. Those concert were magical and so much energy. The audiences went crazy over Madonna! Her father & aunts/uncles were in the audience. Thousands of little girls dressed up like Madonna. Incredible concerts!
Omg😳😳😳U got to see Madonna in concert? Damn that was my dream to be able to see her in Concert lol but every halloween I dressed up as the one and only Madonna😍
That is SOOOOO cool! I have been to Cobo Arena several times, but not for a Madonna concert. That would have been fun. My college graduation ceremony (Wayne State, C/O 1998) was there.
I lived through that 80s era when Madonna was huge. This song is one of my favorites... Looking at her stage presence back then, she was just awesome...
Look at the enormous joyful smile on her face as she comes down the stairs around 0:35. Have you ever seen such a smile? Her hard work had paid off. Her dreams were being realized before her eyes. She knew she had arrived.
My favourite moment. It says/speaks, (i have made it),(with a lot of hard work, belief, dedication, and support.). Thank you Madonna. An awesome inspiration to everybody /everyone. ❤️❤️❤️. Derek x. P.s, madonna made me believe that dreams can become true. 🙏.
Madonna did so many different things along the way, but this was my favorite period. She just had the Madonna look and energy. Her first tour was a total greatest hits compilation, even though she was practically a brand new artist. She was a phenomenon!
Yes!..We took it all in, so to speak!..I look back to the 80s and have very fond memories of all the great times, music and the people we loved!..God bless!
So true about the 80's. 58 now and I have vivid images of the 80's culturally. Have no such images of the 90's and each decade since. The 70's were awesome also. First image that comes to mind is Travolta Saturday Night Fever

I still get goose bumps watching this, her smile, clothes, jewelry, dancing, singing, charisma...I still remember people running to the dance floor when one of her songs was played in the clubs...There was just never anyone like her, she was one of a kind.
Madonna blew up faster than anyone I’ve ever seen. She became a household name overnight. Sold out stadiums faster than the Beatles or Justin Bieber. Here’s the thing, there was no social media, text messages, cell phones, music to download. One badass girl back in the day. Every boy wanted her. Every girl either wanted to look like her or be with her. PS. so many have disagreed w me. In the 80’s, I had the privilege of working in this industry. I’ll say and I know so many others that agree w me, NO ONE worked harder or wanted it more than Madonna. She was amazing to work around and gave off such a presence, you damn well knew when she entered the room or the stadium for that matter. I just watched some of her older or first music videos, very proud and for the nay sayers, you might wanna Google her accomplishments and compare her to anyone anytime anyplace. ☮️.
I was born in 92, but I listen to 80s music, watch 80s movies, buy vinils and wear 80s clothes and shoes (some originally from the 80s). I am SURE I lived this decade in another life, cause I feel energies of true happiness and excitement when I listen to these music. It's incredible! The 80s culture makes me VERY HAPPY! I d give anything to go back and live the best decade ever! 💜✨
I do. I still remember which record shop I was in when I picked up Like A Virgin. I just gazed and gazed at her picture and knew she was going to be huge influence on me.
I agree. I was 9 when Madonna first appeared on the music scene....& I knew she'd be here to stay. My mom scoffed & said "Madonna is just a fad, she'll be gone in a year or two." LOL I love pointing out to her how wrong she was! She chuckles & admits she sure was. Madonna is incredible & always will be.
No internet ,No social media , No one will ever understand unless they lived the 80’s It’s was insane every corner every club every mall it was MADONNA & Michael Jackson. ❤️🎶we will never see this again ever.
The 8k dislikes of people that do not realize this woman changed the music industry and evolved videos of those that we now see today after her introduction into the music world. Talented, worked her ass off for everything she has today... she earned it, The Queen Of Pop Madonna !!!
I count myself very blessed to have been born in the 70's so I was a kid in the 80's. We (Gen-X) had the absolute best music, movies, cars, and fashion. Thank you.
The BabyBoomers had the best music-1960s-1970s. I was 7 years old when the Beatles came to the USA in Feb 1964, which was he most exciting and revolutionary cultural event. I listened to music daily. I was in high school in the early 70s-still hip. I am 2 years older than Madonna, so I remember her originality how she and Michael Jackson were the biggest musical stars. I love Madonna in this period. Energizing music with raw sexuality, confidence and passion. I only wish she didn't have plastic surgery early in life. This music still makes feel so good today in 2024.
@@Karen-dk1ecFresh doping front singers like Madonna, MJ even Prince unfortunately got a bit egomaniac and lost audience respect. I love Madonna there like MJ at the Motown show. But they later became shadows of themselves.
@@samanthadiaz2503 well, imagine Britney Spears in the 2000s or Tylor Swift in the 2010s, but with a bigger impact because she was the first female artist to be that big, she also at one point in 84-85 had every single teenage girl dressing like her nation wide, so go figure.
No one will ever truly understand the impact the 80s artists made, except those who were there and were drowned in the beauty and dynamics of the massive flow of the different styles of music, fashion and fun all in a huge explosive dynamic whirlwind. So glad I was able to experience all of this, where would the world be without it? If I could go back in time and relive anything, it would be the 80s. Best time of my life ❤️🇺🇸
Is it just me or do I think this is one of the most beautiful songs in the history of world pop/rock? It is full of nuances, with a very beautiful melody that encourages dancing... and there is the voice of the goddess, energetic, at times almost guttural... and generally harmonious and sweet with that strength that youth gave her at that time. time... wonderful song.
Honestly the music video made me love this song more! Her dance moves are so iconic! I never danced to this song til AFTER I saw the video and realized you could actually dance to it! Lol!

Huge Madonna fan since the very start of her career. I was around 15 when she really hit it big with this tour. I remember clearly how she was scrutinized for showing her bra as she does here. She was the first female artist to do this. Nobody even blinks an eye to this today. Madonna has paved many roads.

Anyone listening to this classic in 2025? ❤️
Hell ya!
Madonna, the look, the music, the fashion....THANK YOU
The EVERYTHING (Queen of everything 👑).
My everything since I discovered her in 1982, ever since I heard that name MADONNA, that’s been a Love ; Joy ; Emotions ; everything through her Videos; Movies 🎥 especially her 14+ Studio Albums ; Arsenal of Amazing Songs and unbelievable Musical Career.🎼🎶🎵🎼🎶🎵🎼🎶🎵my #1
I saw Madonna live twice on her homecoming concerts in Detroit at Cobo Arena.
You lucky lucky thing!!! Why I look for comments that were there. Thank you x
Lucky you
That is SOOOOO cool! I have been to Cobo Arena several times, but not for a Madonna concert. That would have been fun. My college graduation ceremony (Wayne State, C/O 1998) was there.
Jealous!
When MTV was huge and Madonna Prince and Michael were the faces of music
All the icons are gone, icons has become a dead word
So no Whitney Houston or Janet Jackson? Yeah right

The Epitome of 80s Music and Performance!! Better Than The Studio Recording!
I lived through that 80s era when Madonna was huge. This song is one of my favorites... Looking at her stage presence back then, she was just awesome...
One of my fav's too!I actually seen this tour and i heard this song on the airwaves the other night in Feb/23.It seems its coming back!!
she had quite abit of money stolen from her
40 Years later and it still makes you feel good!
Yes very good❤😂
Truly is no surprise why she is still the best selling female musical recording artist in history 👏
she would never do that to her body those people need to leave her alone
She is one of a kind and there will be nobody like her!
Look at the enormous joyful smile on her face as she comes down the stairs around 0:35. Have you ever seen such a smile? Her hard work had paid off. Her dreams were being realized before her eyes. She knew she had arrived.
❤️🇵🇹👍👍👍

My favourite moment. It says/speaks, (i have made it),(with a lot of hard work, belief, dedication, and support.). Thank you Madonna. An awesome inspiration to everybody /everyone. ❤️❤️❤️. Derek x.
P.s, madonna made me believe that dreams can become true. 🙏.
They don't make music like this anymore.. 😢
Sad but true. This was the song that made me a Madonna fan. 🌟

One thing I just realised: this is not the last hit song of hers in which she mentions satin sheets.
Madonna did so many different things along the way, but this was my favorite period. She just had the Madonna look and energy. Her first tour was a total greatest hits compilation, even though she was practically a brand new artist. She was a phenomenon!
and what was the madonna look? she was just starting so that image we all know was just the beginning of legendary status. ❌
this was the classic and timeless Madonna look, even vocally it was what defined Madonna's look in the 80s.

I was 20 years old in 1982 and had the full experience of that decade!.
No other time period can , or will compare to the 1980s...ever!
I was twenty one in ninety one. I totally understand what you mean by experiencing a decade in it's full entirety!

What I wouldn't give to have been coming of age in the early or mid 1980s.
No other woman singer will ever top Madonna's popularity and fame during her peak.

she acts amazing
whats making u say all of those bad words also why do u care so much about maddona if u hate her
to me it seems like ur really mad and into her
i did but i know u like her
Madonna blew up faster than anyone I’ve ever seen.
The Virgin Tour was the top-selling music video-cassette for 1986.
52 now...I never have seen a complete artist take over like Madonna did and has done! It's been an incredible run!!!
U gave me chills!...so true! @Mike Woodson
Ivanni gotta love good chills! I’m honored.
But she can't sing. Remember a few years ago, Eurosong festival in Israèl? Disgrace
So blessed to have come of age in the 80's. Everyone was so excited to just be alive and the music and fashion reflected it.

Iconic! I don’t think a lot of people realize how influential and masterful this woman was back then and still is
I do. I still remember which record shop I was in when I picked up Like A Virgin. I just gazed and gazed at her picture and knew she was going to be huge influence on me.
Cher is much more talented.
Don’t forget the song writers, sound engineers and producers
She's incredible. Her new tour is amazing, I haven't seen anything like it
No internet ,No social media , No one will ever understand unless they lived the 80’s It’s was insane every corner every club every mall it was MADONNA & Michael Jackson. ❤️🎶we will never see this again ever.
Totally agree with you !
I've noticed for awhile that life was happier back then before social media killed it
purtroppo, devo darti ragione..
The 8k dislikes of people that do not realize this woman changed the music industry and evolved videos of those that we now see today after her introduction into the music world. Talented, worked her ass off for everything she has today... she earned it, The Queen Of Pop Madonna !!!

What a pretty woman ,hello daling ?
Started at the right sort of age too, ie mid 20s. Too many have started about 16 to 17 and haven't gone on as long as Madonna has.
Try Renee Fleming. She has a range of a voice like no other. Even Pat Benetar has a better voice.
With out question she had the greatest music career of any female in history

But they later became shadows of themselves.

That's the year when I was born. Grew up with Madonna!
I was 17, in high school and going out to bars.
I’ll cherish those carefree days with my friends forever!
It was 17 for me and the beginning of my senior year in high school! Awesome memories!!!
How famous was madonna back in the 80s
Best time of my life ❤️🇺🇸
Well said.
Let's build a time machine asap! 💯
Cierto!!!!!
It is beutiful song
Yes absolutely an underrated masterpiece. Should be as big as vogue!
Honestly the music video made me love this song more! Her dance moves are so iconic! I never danced to this song til AFTER I saw the video and realized you could actually dance to it! Lol!
Madonna was already matchless, unbeatable and unstoppable then! Making an entrance that way when you're not yet exactly a superstar is DARING. Long live the Queen...
Sin contar la letra tan explícita...lo máximo....!!

Huge Madonna fan since the very start of her career. I was around 15 when she really hit it big with this tour. I remember clearly how she was scrutinized for showing her bra as she does here. She was the first female artist to do this. Nobody even blinks an eye to this today. Madonna has paved many roads.
