That’s because there’s never gonna be a NBA that only has 10 teams in it where black folks we’re barely allowed to play much less be in the NBA. @@teenola5783The GOAT debate should include championships, and stats, not just one or the other. In the 60s, Russell won all the championships because he had a great team, and he was a great leader. Wilt had the best stats, because he was a physical specimen, and played individually. People on both sides will debate forever about which is better, leadership or individual performance. So it’s better to include both. In the 90s, Jordan won all the championships and had the best stats. The GOAT debate should be about who dominated their era the most, and that is undoubtedly Jordan. @@s0Lstar18 whats your point? Less teams means what exactly? Less competition? No. It means there were fewer spots for players. So the players on those teams had to be at a higher level to get a spot. It’s a statistical reality that if you expand the league, it becomes watered down. That’s the unequivocal reality of basic statistics. Its a function of having to accept lower caliber players to fill out the roster when you expand the number of teams. Follow? If you pick the best 100 players to fill out a 10 man roster, what happens to the quality of player when you now have to take the top 300 players to fill 30 teams? You think a guy like Steve Kerr or Paxson makes it on any one of those teams when Russell played? No chance. Watering down the league with more players doesn’t mean it’s more competitive, it just means you have a lot of bad teams and a lot of players that would’ve never made the league in the days of Russell and Wilt.
@@s0Lstar18beyond that, it was more a comment on the ever changing metrics to decide the goat. 6 championships is why Jordan gets the nod over Wilt. But those same people will tell you 11 championships doesn’t mean Russell is better than Jordan. Personally I don’t think championships is the end all be all. Wilt had to play against one of the best teams in history that dominated during his tenure. What if Jordan had to play against the Lakers or Celts at their peak? Or even the Rockets during Hakeem’s peak? Guarantee you he doesn’t get 6 rings. So championships has a lot to do with luck and timing. Wilt gets knocked for the sole reason of having to play during the reign of the most dominant team in NBA history. Jordan came in at a time when there were good solid teams. But the juggernauts of the Lakers and Celtics had past. So he found a pocket of time where 3 peats were possible. No possible way the Bulls are even repeating if they played in the era of the best Lakers and Celts teams. Those guys were winners. And Jordan never got over on Bird. So championships are relevant, but they also require a lot of context. What’s more impressive, beating the Phoenix suns for a title or a prime Laker or Celtic team? There’s only a few teams with multiple chips in the modern era. 80% of the Celtics chips come before the modern era, the Lakers Bulls and Warriors have more chips than the Celtics in the modern era. Wilt’s numbers dip in the playoffs and finals. And for all the stat stuffing he did he’s 2-4. @choiceismine because that's his argument? People were saying he can't be considered the best because he only has 2 rings compared to Michaels then 4. Well, by using their own logic against them, if Michael having more rings is what was separating them, then Bill Russell should be considered better than them both because he won 11 rings.

There were 8-10 teams when Russell played, cut it out
@@s0Lstar18 whats your point?
That’s the easiest question you’ll hear all year.

Bird’s Celtics only won 3 in the modern era and has only won one since, because it’s harder to win with more teams. Why do you think there’s only been 2 teams to 3-peat since Russell’s Celtics? There’s only a few teams with multiple chips in the modern era. 80% of the Celtics chips come before the modern era, the Lakers Bulls and Warriors have more chips than the Celtics in the modern era.
Wilt’s numbers dip in the playoffs and finals. And for all the stat stuffing he did he’s 2-4. Was Wilt more about physical domination or basketball skills?
The entire league was 5'9"
Stop it 😂😂😂😂😂
And yet he only has 2 rings while playing with West n Baylor....Harden has stats!!!
Yeah, against a bunch of weekend warriors.
@@Bubby16dunking was no allowed which means that skills had to be attached. wilt was only one player and people think one great player should have championships like basketball isnt a team sport. a lot of wilt's PERSONAL records will never be broken. stop the hate campaign.
I never saw Wilt play. I’ve read some of his records and some grainy videos on YT. I really wish the sports media was more objective and fair. Wilt should be mentioned far more than he is.
Wilt is like Payton Manning. He had all the stats in the world yet didn't win as expected.
He’s not mentioned because he was playing against a bunch of 6 ft white guys. Take away his size and Wilt probably never goes pro.
Wilt and Bill wouldn’t dare play with Kobe or Lebron like that fr respectfully MJ will be looked at as one of them as the future goes on If Jordan didn’t have shoes we wouldn’t really talk about him like that
That last comment was Genius 🤣💯💯💯…… Got emmmm!!!
The NBA changes the rules to make it easier for Jordan, they changed the rules to make it harder for Wilt.
And barkley
Impossible to try and compare Barkley to Wilt!! Chuck had trouble with Elden Campbell 😂
@@EduardoGonzalez-se6vv chuck is so good with the back to the basket post up, that they made the 5 second rule when doing it
Pistons were whopping Jordan’s ass. What are we talking about here. Wilt played against nobody non Athletics
@@d.supreme8592 - Wilt played against:
Bill Russell
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
Willis Reed
Artis Gilmore
Elmore Smith
Nate Thurmond
Bob McAdoo
Walt Bellamy
Bob Lanier
Wes Unseld
Elvin Hayes
And these are just some of the centers and power forwards. Think of the other great players like Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, etc.
It is a myth Wilt played vs nobodies. If you don't recognize most or all the names on my list you are simply ignorant of the history of the NBA.
Both were unstoppable
The problem with Jordan stans is they constantly move the needle or try to lessen other ppls legacies just to keep Mike on top. Raise your legend and find an argument that's based in some type of logic. Honestly Mike was amazing so I don't think I'm asking for to much.
Best believe Michael would’ve found a way to stop Will, because Michael was the assassin and what does assassin do they find their opponents weakness
There were 32+ teams during Jordan’s era. Before that there were only 12 teams. Huge difference
Stop moving the goal post 😅
@@AnthonyThomas-ez4jpmore teams makes it easier, not harder. It dilutes the talent pool.
And they change the rule in favor of jordan but still he cant beat larry legend...if your goat is jordan what makes larry bird that always beating him..prime jordan and injured larry bird...jordan lose..its not about score and flashy dunk its all about how u contribute to win...
Wilt is the only player in NBA history that they changed rules so he wouldn’t score as much… Wilt will never be repeated nor replicated ever again… He had over 100 records and still holds over 50 records solo to this day… talk about a non human beast…🙏🏻👍🏽
LOL Wembanyama about to make you eat your words, records are made to be broken.
There's the Charles Barkley rule too. I know he's not in the conversation, but the back to the basket rule exist because of him
John Stockton better
Kareem almost got dunking banned.
Folks simply don't understand that Wilt was already literally secretly playing basketball in the Pros when Wilt was still just a highschool teenager
LeBron 4 rings
Shaq 4 rings
Kobe 5 rings
Horry 7 rings
Larry bird only 3 nba championships ring
@@user-iv9er3nr6zhe talk about robert horry who plays in multiple teams as a role player and won chips
@@arcadesoldier1392 horry save everybody he played for 4th quater horry the best player in the world
"He doesn't say anything about them."
My mind was already screaming Bill Russell
💍💍💍💍💍💍💍💍💍💍💍
Totally different eras. There was the NBA and the ABA back then. The NBA only had 8 teams once upon a time.
Wilt saved, & made the NBA what it is now,
He didn't need a shoe, he owned the team
Bird and Magic saved it. Not Wilt
@@sammysam2615 " it's proof that Wilt had deals that MADE IT able for players such as Bird,Magic, Jordan, Shaq continue to HELP make the NBA what it is today..... hell Jordan Barely owns a team in this current era🤣
But you are right, Bird did save it also with the shoe deal, but once Jordan took flight ✈️ from that free throw line " WELL ALL wanted to be like Mike !
Bill Russell was da🐐 during his time,Wilt Chamberlain was da🐐 during his time, and Michael Jordan was is da 🐐 during his time bottom line. Respect to all 3 💪🏽.
Adding LeBron James is the GOAT at this time. Period. Give LBJ is due as well. Who will be the face of the NBA when he retires is the BIG question. The league is working on replacing LBJ, but with who!!!!
I think Ja Morant could be if he doesn't get his self together. Banchero gone fa sho be the next LBJ
I think not enough ppl put Wilt in the Goat convo but isn't Bill Russell CONSTANTLY giving him crazy work and having 11rings in that era the BEST CASE you could make for Wilt NOT being the GOAT😂😂😂🤔
You know why they don’t bring up Bill Russel in the goat debate?
He played alongside 12 players who are in the hall of fame.
💀
you could say that about bird too...but bird made them hof
And the league only had like 9 teams. Idk why that always gets overlooked.
You could also say jordan didnt win anything until jerry krause put together the best team in the nba. He didnt win anything when the odds were against him
MJ fan here , wilt is right and bill Russell should be no” 1 , keep watching the interview, wilt said the NBA players should give Michael Jordan 10% off there pay to MJ
If winning championships is the only thing that makes a basketball player the greatest, then Bill Russell is the GREATEST and Jordan cant even sit next to him.
No one can never touch bill Russel championship rings
Wilt’s nickname was The Big Dipper … double entendres for the constellation AND how many women he was bagging .. that man is the TRUTH
The amount of aura in that debate must of been insane two legendary titans clashing with words
Ending is cold
