THE ULTIMATE FILAMENT STORAGE SOLUTION
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 22 ธ.ค. 2020
- Every owner of a 3D-Printer needs to store his filament spools. There are so many concepts of filament storage solution out there. But no one of them fits my needs. So I had to find my own solution. After thinking about it a few days, I found the perfect solution. At least for me. I made a design that uses most of the space of my cabinet and I have access to every spool without moving or restacking the other spools. With my solution a can store up to 28, 1Kg Filament spools. For me the ultimate storage solution.

DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME :
I am a do-it-yourselfer and this is a private hobby video,
by showing me how to solve special tasks! The video is not an
instructional video and is not intended to be imitated!
That's why : All information and tips without guarantee!

for his own mistakes! For all work, the general observe
occupational health and safety regulations! I do not assume
any liability for damages and injuries!
Great idea! Once I increase my collection of spools, I'll have to consider building something similar.
Great solution and build! The use of wall anchors as nutters is both brilliant and blindingly obvious ONCE it is pointed out. Well done!
Love the design and execution of this unit. Great solution for a small space. I can think of half a dozen makers who need to build one for themselves.
Awesome build. I love it. I was thinking putting trays with hand tools or even my lunch lol.
This is the most beautiful 3d filament storage I have ever seen! This is perfect! Congratulations!
Fantastic work! I can only aspire to your level of precision and finish.
Very clever solution! Ingenious use of space. Love it!
Very creative and aesthetic solution! It was also interesting to see how well your dust collection for the MPCNC, performs with large amounts of sawdust being generated.
Let me congratulate you for one of the most imaginative and finest work that I have ever seen. Congratulations!!!
Fantastic work, man! It works great and looks even better! 😃
Happy holidays! And stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Such a perfectionism psychologic trait i can see it from there.
It takes one to know one.
Great job.
Very good idea. The resullt is perfect.
This is the first video I've watched by you. I just subscribed. This is an excellent build. I like the way you used magnets to stop the unbalanced spool racks. Keep up the good work..
That's excellent. Bravo sir! Bravo!
That is a very efficient design and good craft skills.
It's a shame your site has disappeared, your design is simply magnificent.
Genius!! Pure Genius!! Now, I wonder if you have the CNC plans available so my friend who does a great deal of CNC woodworking might be able to make a set of those pieces for me. Major high fives...and keep up your excellent, high-craftsmanship work.
Loved the design!! Made me have an idea to address the spill distribution.. just motorize it, using a used 12v power window motor, pulley and a button... maybe even a Arduino and some programming to have some presets and 4 buttons, one for each row (this last part I have no idea how but there must be a tutorial around)
Tolle Lösung! Könnte ich mir für meinen nächsten Drucker auch vorstellen. Schöne Weihnachten!
Are you going to make the plans/STLs available on your website?
That is amazing I am looking for a solution myself
Awesome solution
I'm jealous. I wish I had a CNC mill, and I especially wish we could get such nice plywood here. My filament storage solution consists of large, cylindrical food containers with Tupperware(tm) style lids, so they are airtight. I can stack four spools inside them, and I put a dehumidifying pouch (they sell these at Tesco, they're meant for keeping the mildew out of your clothing) on top of the top spool. I also put a mini-hygrometer on top of the filaments. The containers stack on top of each other. It isn't really that convenient, often you want a spool that's at the bottom of a container. Then again, it didn't cost much, and took little effort. Interesting how the mill has the equivalent of a BL-Touch.
Mal wieder ein absolut geniales Projekt wirklich super umgesetzt
Find deine Videos echt klasse und inspirierend danke dafür
Frohe Weihnachten und eine schöne Zeit
MfG Tobi
just needs a dehumidifier in it now to stop the filaments absorbing water, good job.
That's what the desiccant packets are for in the bottom of the box.
very good job it is perfect
You should use a dry rod used for keeping gun safes dry. I think I will build one of these. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful! So many questions:
1. Did you build the original cabinet or was it purchased and if so what is it?
2. What material did you use for the turn style?
3. Do the doors seal water-tight to prevent moisture accumulation in the spools? I'm assuming not but could be an easy modification.
4. What CNC mill are you using?
Perfect to install a small dehydrator 🤟
That's really nice. But I would need 4 of them, and I'm just getting started.
Has du klasse erfunden und gemacht, genial, einfach topppp,wowwww. Alleine al die Idee, klasse.
Ingenious
Now make an stl file version lol
Yes please
Does anyone have an idea of what cabinets he's using? They look like Ikea maybe but it's hard to tell. Great video! Can't wait to see you back!
I would like to build this also
Do you have the plans and files for sale?
Genuis!!!!!!!😁
Nice design! It's 2022 now. Do you ever plan to release the CNC files?
Hi ! Can you show us how to make your table saw fence ? I am very interested. thanks
Wow!
Badass!!!
A great idea but I think it was overkill on the screws to hold it in place inside the cabinet. As it was such a tight fit one screw in each of the upper back corners where they almost never would’ve been seen would have been more than sufficient to hold it in place I think, but if you had doubts one more in each of the two lower front corners making a total of four screws, two up back, two down front, which would have probably been overkill.
Nice
I have only just seen this video. Exactly what i was looking for. Do you have plans or at least some dimensions I can use as a reference. I am hoping to 3D print all the parts as I don't have a CNC router (yet)

… and I sit here with my stupid plastic box :) Really cool storage!
Top Projekt. Kann man den Bausatz bei Dir erwerben?
In how does this storage solution store them dry 🤔
Really great design and very accurate implementation. Thumbs up. But 8 (!!!!) commercials in a 20 Minute Video ?? Really ?!?!
Yes, thought the same about the commercials... although I am never sure, which commercials are from TH-cam and which are from the creators. 🤷🏻♂️ But that was clearly a lot 🙁
Get TH-cam premium. No more commercials on TH-cam. Well worth it!
@@StevePotter Never ever.
We’ll done
"I simply don't have space for it" - Says the man with the thousand machines xD
Could you please provide your fusion files or stls as this would be perfect.
🖖 👍
👏👌👍👍👍
I'll take your entire stock
can you send the stl files? I can't find them anywhere on your website. thank you
Same here
It seems your website is showing up as a malicious website... did it get taken over?
couldnt you have formed the carriages with a cup shape and had a single rod going through the spools so that the spools could rotate, and then have a passthrough system so you wouldnt have to remove the spools at all.
Consider adding dehumidification to the cabinet. Can take inspiration from this:
th-cam.com/video/p34DapG9598/w-d-xo.html
Would be fairly simple to make the cabinet doors seal shut with a latch or something and some gasket material to keep moisture out.
