Carp fishing is one of the best freshwater fishing experiences you can have. Freshwater Bonefish some folks call them. I have caught some massive Grass Carp on hunks of peaches, grapes, plums and even kiwi! Love your content!!!
Hi Justin, I used to be a carp fisherman many years ago now here in the UK, it takes around an hour for the fish to find your bait then the fun starts. I know you normally fish for cat fish but a 30lb carp will give you a great fight, happy fishing or as we say in the UK tight lines.

You ought to look into tilt stands for carp , they may be cumbersome in a kayak but if you get up on a bank I think you’d like them. I use them for carp and cat tournaments .

Wow, what a trip! I would love to have been on those carp like that. I used to fish for them all the time. One of the best trips I ever had for them was fishing with a fly rod for them during the May fly hatch. Definitely a load on a fly rod that's for sure! Keep the great videos coming

Largest snapping turtle I've ever seen was in Houston. A guy snagged in in the foot. Had to weight 200lbs at least. Head was as big as mine. Crazy. Always injoy ur content. Makes me laugh every time.
I enjoy watching the carp fishing. Its so exciting when your line takes off. I have caught many, many carp. Carp fishing is very exciting. Try floating bread bait on a hook using a float. Its great fun but can be frustrating. You need to hold onto the rod though coz all hell can break loose.
Find a mulberry bush overhanging water, ripe berries drop into water and carp get them off top water, use split shots to make mulberry sink( cause they float) and distinguish it from those floating, gotta catch it at right time though , as ripe berries falling into water
I fish for carp often in small rivers and streams that have a lot of rocks and snags. I break off a lot of gear and those method feeders are kinda pricey. I have just switched over to 1-2oz (based on current flow) no-roll sinkers. I use that same pack bait recipe and it holds on the no-roll sinkers just fine. I just use a slip float stop and bead to pin the sinker against the swivel. The smaller no-roll's are far more cost effective and accessible than method leads. Also, I buy 50lb bags of feed corn and boil the whole bag to soften it (Luke has this on his channel as well). I pack it into gallon freezer bags and freeze it after I boil it. It stays good in the freezer for up to 2 years. When I want to go carp fishing, I just grab a bag out of the freezer and go to work. Feed corn costs about $6 for a 50lb bag in my area. I have posted the freezer tip on Luke's channel a few years ago before he disabled comments on his videos due to all the sicko's posting comments about his kids.
You do really good with your hook size and treatment of the fellas. I'm no PETA liker, but I always feel bad when I damage the fish. Then again it seems like every other wiper I catch has a gars teeth branded in it's side. NICE FISHIN! I remember back in the 70s my cousin and I catching carp that size on a dough bait made from Wheaties cereal and bananas. My uncle would cut them into chunks to bait his trotlines.

I think carp fishing is really under rated. Most people dont eat what they catch anyway. So makes no sense to me why more people dont carp fish when it is so much fun. Yesterday i landed me a carp over 20 pounds. Most people who were smirking at me why fishing came all to take pics. People need to stop being insecure and try something new- common carp fishing.

I used to catch carp and trade them for fresh garden veggies from an old man when I was a kid. Some people really like them. That carp was raised by catfish is why it ran like that.

Carp have one of the strongest opening runs compared to most other north american fresh water fish species. May not last very long but the first couple minutes are exhilarating 🎣

How you handle them? Smallmouth always smack around and slime me good. Fun catch but they are covered in this semen like coat that sticks to everything.
@@mikewood7329 haha, yea that's my problem is I'm never expecting to catch them. Carp has taught me to be more prepared though, and quite the fighters. I just need to look into which carp I should kill and which I should release (I catch and release only *pollution here*)
Don't worry about carp fishing...fish for what you enjoy catching, the views will get there.. most of us are well rounded fishermen. --and that's true about carp fishing, keep a little slack in the line.
Justin have you tried checking with your mom&pop stores and bigger stores to find out about buying the outdated bread. You can freeze it until you are ready to use it. Just grind it up. I pay 50 cents a loaf for it. Better than it being wasted
I see you getting some nice eater sized Carp. up here in Pa one that size gets fileted, (well not really that) but we take the strip steaks off the backbone, no bones pure white meat and a 30 inch carp can give you about 3-4 pounds of fish steaks. But up here its illegal to chum fish so its what's on the line or nothing.
I literally went to the private pond Saturday to catch a snapping turtle on purpose .we were successful..I cleaned it. And ate some for the first time yesterday..it is really good 👍
I was just telling my Bride that don't really care for carp fishing because I don't eat them. I didn't get the words out of my mouth before I thought how my Brother and I used to crawl don't in the ditches to catch crayfish, JUST so we go fish for, what we call mud fish, Bowfins. We didn't eat them but boy what a fight. Those were some good days. Thanks for helping me remember that.

If you use 4-6lb test carp are an insane fight. Took me 2 hours on 4lb test for a common carp as long as my leg(i’m 5’9” for reference).

I always did enjoy catching carp they are fun. I bet sweet horse feed would work well for the carp pack bait.
I found a honey hole like that, it's shallow and you can see them take your bait. Had great results with pack bait and corn only

How you handle them? Smallmouth always smack around and slime me good. Fun catch but they are covered in this semen like coat that sticks to everything.

@@mikewood7329 haha, yea that's my problem is I'm never expecting to catch them. Carp has taught me to be more prepared though, and quite the fighters. I just need to look into which carp I should kill and which I should release (I catch and release only *pollution here*)

Don't worry about carp fishing...fish for what you enjoy catching, the views will get there.. most of us are well rounded fishermen. --and that's true about carp fishing, keep a little slack in the line.
Justin have you tried checking with your mom&pop stores and bigger stores to find out about buying the outdated bread. You can freeze it until you are ready to use it. Just grind it up. I pay 50 cents a loaf for it. Better than it being wasted
Bait is a lot easier to get for carp fishing. I find myself doing more of it as I get older and lazier. 🙂 enjoyed the video.

I see you getting some nice eater sized Carp. up here in Pa one that size gets fileted, (well not really that) but we take the strip steaks off the backbone, no bones pure white meat and a 30 inch carp can give you about 3-4 pounds of fish steaks. But up here its illegal to chum fish so its what's on the line or nothing.

I was just telling my Bride that don't really care for carp fishing because I don't eat them. I didn't get the words out of my mouth before I thought how my Brother and I used to crawl don't in the ditches to catch crayfish, JUST so we go fish for, what we call mud fish, Bowfins. We didn't eat them but boy what a fight. Those were some good days. Thanks for helping me remember that.
