I love watching these videos carp fishing here in the UK is a 2 billion pound a year industry 10kg of Boilies will cost £60 $75 and that's without pellets £25 liquids £15 pop ups £ 6.99 ect its endless we have shops as big as wallmart just full to the neck with carp fishing stuff. we mainly use pva bags now fill a bag with goodies when it goes in water it melts or we use bait boats drop it where ever ya want it.. tight lines brother

I'm a British carp angler now living in a country with no carp fishing culture whatsoever. Being forced to take DIY approaches to baits and rigs has made catching carp infinitely more fun, and it's great learning from these kinds of videos made by people in countries where "pop up coca cola wafter on a D-rig" is as meaningless as it should be.

For your indicator float you hang on your line, I tie a string from my rod holder to the bottom of the float, then secure a bobby-pin to the top of the float and clip the bobby-pin on the line. When a fish bites, you can pick up the pole and the float comes unclipped from the line but is still tethered to the rod holder for your next cast. I used this method back in the 80's when bank fishing for stocked trout in California reservoirs.

Everyone in my favorite little fishing spot is fishing catfish...literally, carp are bold enough to flick water at you from 5 feet off the bank. I have had zero success on worms, so 'm making a batch of this so I can begin yanking up a few of these carp. They are just out of hand...if I catch even one carp using this, I'll be back to brag on you man!!

Lol . I like mine too take about 3 - 5 minutes in cold water . Because warm water works faster . I don't want it any faster than that . If it is faster . Add a little bit of flour to it and it'll slow it down . It's its taking to long add more wheat brand and it'll help it break faster

well, it works. I mixed up some and thought I was wasting my time. I finally got it mixed up and to the right consistency. First cast I caught a 15# grass carp. When I finally got it in, I baited back up and immediately caught a common carp. Third time , I caught a little catfish , so I quit. I didn't have any cinnamon oil. Thanks

A DIY rod holder idea. I took a rectangular bucket and added PVC pipe all around both the outside and inside of the bucket. The pipe will need to be large enough to fit your rod handles. I attached my pipes with cable ties top and bottom of each pipe. Works great and sure beats leaning a rod against the wall, hoping it won't get knocked over and broken.

Yes I like regular oatmeal better but it cost more . The ratios are done by volume not weight . Because each ingredient is dramatically different in weight but you put the same volume. If you put 2 cups of oatmeal then put 2 cups of the others too . The only thing with different amounts is the syrup and flour

We caught our first accidental carp in Spring 2019 who got away on the bank but it was a monster fish, went after them hard all Spring- Fall 2020 and managed to break 20lbs just at the end of Spring. Have had nothing since. Feeling the drag....or rather not feeling the drag... sucks. I think it's our pack though. I found out yesterday it never breaks up, just falls off and sits as a dough ball on the bottom. My husband and I are excited to test this mix out. Thank you so much for sharing. I grew up on the banks. My dad always said, "Son, every fish in that lake will eat a worm." That is the ONLY bait I ever fished with until I was in my 20's and started Bass fishing. (Dad said Bass were trash fish, full of worms, throw it up on the bank.) HA! I think the old man would get a #Hoot out of all the methods people use to target different species. I had no idea. That was the neatest thing I've ever seen. I met a guy once who showed me his catfish bait. It looked similar but he told me he drizzled a little power steering fluid on the ball before he cast it. Peace.

@@FishinNStuff yeah I know that really bums me out to. The grass carp are the only fish in the waters out here that aren't considered a game fish and protected as such. The waters here are very cold and clear, so the carp have three good uses. 1 they're good eating if you know how to clean them right and I do. 2 they make really good cut bait + 3 they make awesome fish emulsion fertilizer for the garden which is a big plus here in the desert. No other fish in these Waters out here are allowed to be used as bait.

Not a bad idea I’ve always done the kool aid with Panko and corn but it goes bad fast and I have a feeling that it might break off with long cast as it hits the water. The corn syrup I think would hold stronger and I like the banana flavor idea carp love that stuff

You might could . But you need to check.it . Regular bird seed with the hull.on it floats so it won't work . You could put some on water and see if it floats . You don't want it to float , it needs to stay with the hooks

We had our own secret bait we made for carp fishing . We cooked up a batch each time we had a time to go. Treble hooks mandatory here. One secret was vanilla a teaspoon per batch . Corn meal with corn starch , molasses , cooked to a thick consistency. Mold it to the hooks. The carp went crazy for it and would straighten single hooks.

Regular bran flakes. Get it damp and smash around the treble. DO NOT crunch up when wetting. This stuff will pack so hard you can't set a hook through it. You can also wet with flavored pop. But I don't think it matters.

I make my dough ball right at the river. Get a handful of oatmeal. And put your hand in the water. Moisten the oatmeal and put it around your hook. If you don't pay attention to the rod and reel. And you have it on a stick. There is a chance you will lose your fishing pole. My dad has lost a couple, my brother has too. We never bought any of the fancy pole holders. I was taught the old fashioned way to make a dough ball. I add strawberry Kool aid mix with my dough ball. After I get my ball made. And let it set and dry a little before I throw my line out. But it does look like the one in this video. It won't come off easily either. But, good luck to everyone. Have fun. And stay fishin.

I like using dough balls too . My dad made em when I was a kid . But the one on the video is designed to stay on the hook while casting it out , but fall apart after it's in the water . The pops or puffs actually do good catching em . But don't try this bait in current it'll get washed away
