- Bruton has a new restaurant incoming - in collaboration with the lovely boutique hotel Number One Bruton watch out for Briar opening soon. They have a photo shoot today so I've done some autumnal and quite foodie style arrangements - not really flower arrangements - of greenery and twiggery for them to have as background in the photos. Good luck all and hurrah for a new eatery on our block.

I adore autumn and the scent in the air…reminds me of back to school days and the excitement. The edible arrangements are gorgeous in their natural simplicity you’re a very talented artist. I have a colon stoneware jars I use all year round there’s something reassuring about their solid form and simple grace. I do hope the photo shoot went well. Thanks for sharing this with us 🤗🍂

You mentioned school-itis.... When I was six in first grade, I was terrified of school. After a few days of claiming I had a terrible tummy ache, my grandmother took me to the doctor. He examined me and sat down in a huge wooden chair while looking me up and down. My grandmother asked him what he thought the problem was. I'll never forget the terror I felt when he proclaimed I had a condition with a very long name, which sounded very serious, and here I had been faking symptoms while probably dying from whatever disease he had mentioned. We walked out, in silence. It wasn't until we got to the car that my grandmother "educated" me about the side effects of school-itis. They weren't pleasant.

I love the crab apples in the arrangement. Do you know the variety and how old is the tree in your garden ?

These crab apples are a variety called red sentinel (most of them are anyway) and the tree in my garden is maybe ten years old x
