Lexan Week: Otis Lexan Hydraulic Elevator at 66 West Mount Pleasant Avenue in Livingston, NJ

Our second stop during Lexan Week takes us to 66 West Mount Pleasant Avenue, home to Somerset Regal Bank. This is my favorite Lexan elevator out of the three, and it has the better motor. Unlike the other two elevators, this one doesn’t have an Otis logo above the 2 button, nor does it have the U and D buttons below the door open button.
Since my last visit, the exterior of the elevator on the first floor was renovated to match its appearance on the second floor. The golden door was replaced with a black one and the surrounding ornate wall and floor were removed in favor of a simple white wall and grey carpet. Really big downgrade, if you ask me. Thankfully, aside from a new matching carpeted floor, the interior remains unchanged. Also it’s kinda funny how they had to put up a warning sign; there must have been a number of incidents to make it necessary.
