A track by Swedes about Irish people with Scottish sounding music sung in English! Another happy tune with melancholic lyrics. What's not to like? Abba excel with that combination which ought to be mutually exclusive!
The Gaelic and Irish upbeat are not dissimilar to each other. This song is amazingly well matched to lifting us all. Love it, love it, love it. We need this kind of music and no more acrobatic singers or husky nasal voices which are now like the same. At last joy to the world and ABBA I love you 💕
The thing with Abba songs is.....each one is different, but they have that same distinct Abba sound. There is NO ONE like Abba. Their songs just make me so emotional ❤
”I missed the good times when you danced with me”. One could interpret that text as if it had double meaning, ie. that the band Abba misses its fans, misses the times when the fans used to dance to ”Dancing queen”, etc.
ABBA was the soundtrack of my young life, and their music has sustained me through finding out I was hiv poz at the age of 25 in 1985 and years of living with that stigma. Having them back brings indescribable joy back at a time that the darkness almost won again. I truly wish I could be in England for one of their concerts, your video took me to tears.
Great tune and just a fun vibe. I am Irish living in London. I'm not from Kilkenny but Dublin. However, people in Kilkenny in Ireland are going crazy that there is a fantastic new Abba siong that talks about their city. And the Celtic nuances in the music are so authentic and respectful. Just more of the ABBA genius!!! And I love your reactions.
Last night I finally listened to complete album Voyage. I am not ashamed to say it left me in tears. It is absolutely EPIC. There is such a great philosophy and matureness of vision and feeling behind, like these four have concentrated 40 years of their lives in these several songs... Incredible life experiences shared generously with all of us... Thank you ABBA, you are precious.
Although the piper is a lot darker being about the rise of certain dictators in the 20th century (and of course tied with the legend of the medieval piper). Love that song.
I know how your feeling about this song....I'm just overwhelmed with this song and all their songs on this album.💖 there's no words to describe how phenomenal they are....but PURE PERFECTION! 😊
@GivenToe - my ancestors were Ulster Scots. My heart leapt up into my throat when I first listened to this song. It's stunning. The whole album is stunning.
I thought it was gonna be another ode to Scotland, but we already have Super Trouper, so I am very glad that the Irish get theirs. And what a song indeed!
When I first heard this song I felt like I was having an out of body experience tbh. It is so melodic, happy and quite powerful at the same time. 40 years between albums didn't have any negative impact on their harmonies - there's still so much magic in them. Don't Shut Me Down is my runaway favorite but When You Danced With Me is a very, very close second ❤🇵🇭
ABBA VOYAGE, ALREADY MY FAVE ALBUM. ABBA HASN'T SOLD OUT, TO SOUND LIKE OTHER ACTS AROUND. THE ABBA SOUND IS ON FULL FORCE, THANK YOU ABBA FOR THE OLD AND NEW MUSIC🥰🥰🥰🥰
I don't know how they do it but time seems to be nothing for Abba. Voyage puts you in a time machine to join the music they used to do. This album is a masterpiece.
PURE MAGIC! This one could have been a hit in the UK and Europe around mid-'80s, when bands like Big Country or artists like Enya were having hits with their fusion of Irish-Scottish-pop-rock.
Its been an emotional day today. First so happy to listen to this track. By my 3rd listen, the tears began to flow...it spilled to 3 other tracks. All in, i have never cried to any of their previous releases.. starting with the dont shut me down and i still have faith in you, i have now cried to 6 tracks on this album. Well done ABBA. I love you forever...
Having new songs and WHAT also a NEW ALBUM from ABBA is such a beam of positive, beautiful light in this world of dark ugliness it’s so wonderful and hard to believe
I loved this track from the moment the girls voices kicked in and when you have an immediate connection with a track, you know it's hit the mark, great to see your reaction bro!
Although the song is somewhat short, I think it's the best song on the album. The album as a whole, the overall imagery that I get from the album, reminds me of someone looking back at the years of their life. You know, the members of Abba are older now, and their perceptions have changed. They aren't the same people they once were. Hopefully, this won't be their last album.
Hey Giventoe! You are having the same emotional reaction as I did listening to this for the first time. The Irish folk influences are very interesting, I've not heard that from ABBA before. It has a similar production sound to the Visitors album yet nods to their skiffle origins and it could almost be a follow up to 'Dance While The Music Still Goes On'. Love it, love it, love it!

But I really liked it and I know from back in the days that Abba-songs tends to grow on you. This also brought back the wonderful feeling of listening to a whole album for the first time, not having heard more than maybe two or three of the songs before. It was always such a joy to do that and there were always a few songs you didn't like quit as much at first, but for me those often were the songs I liked the most in the long run. I'm glad we have the chance to listen to so much music on Internet today. But when you had to pay for a whole album, you just listened to all the songs over and over again and found gems you'd never learned to appreciate otherwise. I kind of miss those days ... Looking forward to your next video on Abba!
When you listen to ABBA's music, you are moved, happy, emotional and melancholy in your soul. Now that I see how many people around the world are taking the music to their to grips and being influenced by it, I am convinced that we can all unite around the world. We're not so different, we're the same as people. We can stop fighting, destroy, argue and be greedy, but instead help each other so that man can be happy again. I thank ABBA for the music and am a proud Swede myself. Positive thoughts from Sweden!
Love this song! The bagpipes are there! Just like the violins and accordions are there in "Arrival!" It's Benny's version on the keys, of the instruments. It's another ABBA masterpiece.
It reminds me so much of The Piper and Arrival sound wise. And I, as you said, keep crying as though a friend has come to visit me after so many years.
Totally agree with u bro, its an amazing and uplifting song and puts a smile on ur face right from the first beat till the end. A real gem........loved it.
To me, this is a great example of why I am fixated on ABBA. Their repertoire is so diverse. They perform disco, rock, folk and other genres. That’s what makes them so interesting to hear. Agnetha and Frida are the ideal performers of the songs written by Benny and Bjorn.
As so many have said and will say for many years to come, ABBA stands alone in its music realm, and how fortunate we are to still be around to hear more of its peerless music. I want to thank you, GivenToe, for putting yourself and your raw feelings out there for all of us. Whether one wants to listen to the album alone or with others is a personal decision. Somehow, you bridge that gap, such that I can listen to the songs alone yet feel bonded with a kindred spirit. Bravo, GivenToe, and, of course, ABBA.

There is an Irish ☘️ sound to this as “ Kilkenny ” , Again it’s a separation of couple but the lyric like do you miss the place or village life or the person they left.
