Too young to remember BSB but mind blown at the production quality of BSB - very ahead of its time. You can tell it's experimental nature bled into mainstream channels for the next decade. Would love to see a whole day of BSB programming!
At least Pat Sharp wouldn't be short of work, employed as he was in childrens' television as the host of Scottish Television's adaptation of "Fun House" from 1989 to 1999, and would become one of the presenters of "What's Up Doc?" from 1992 to 1995 (also produced by Scottish, but in association with Warner Brothers). The radio work would continue to come, after all it is Sharp's natural home. At this time, he was a DJ on Capital FM, the music-based independent local radio station in London; he moved to Heart in 1997 and Smooth in 2008. He's now at Greatest Hits Radio.

He did some shows for BSB and BSkyB
Back then Heart and Capital was all live these days it’s all voicetracked and networked, particularly Heart.
Yes, but it is ironic that Pat Sharp was working at Sky for years, and leaves Sky to work on a channel that lasts only a year and is absorbed by Sky.
One thing I wondered, who made the idents for them? They looked really expensive for its time. Always loved the powerstation one
Martin Lambie Nairn - he also did the BBC 1 and 2 idents around the same time. Compare Galaxy with BBC 1, they look incredibly similar in style.
BSB was best
obviously not good enough
@@castle6742 It was though. Sky was nothing but lightweight populist crap in those days. BSBs problem was that it was over a year late.
Power station v. Mtv in the 90s. Mtv was much better.
Fuckin hell Pat, 3:53 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 good job it was everyone's last day eh
Sad day, all that effort, money and jobs gone so quickly
Where were they filming from?
@@ajs41 good point, no idea. Its not marco polo house is it?
10 Heathman's Road, Parsons Green, London - now known as "The Worx"
This is 7th April 1991 I think.
They had their own branded building!?

Quality television ruined by Rupert Murdoch's Sky takeover.
