- Switching to a new airline … again? Not quite but still a big change.
Eurowings Discover, the airline I’ve been flying for for the past 2 years, has undergone a big change.
An all new corporate identity, livery, design and direction.
Eurowings Discover has become Discover Airlines but why?
In this video we’ll go over why Eurowings Discover changed everything just shortly after the Airline was founded.
I’ll explain how the company was founded and why Eurowings Discover went the route they did.
Just a side note Discover Airlines has no affiliation to this video and didn’t have any input on the contents.

Before if your saw it you would just think eurowings. But the new one is so fresh and clean. Very nice!
Thé change of name will not erase the drama which occurred in 2014 when Eurowings pilot crashed the plane in South of France … so LH tried everything to make ppl forget this event. Although I salute the process of it what’s the point of having so many airlines brand doing more or less same market??
Why not LH try to see bigger opening bases across Europe and having different bases like RYR do? And just request only English to be talked on board for staff ??

Hey Pascal, nice video! Is it relatively “easy” to transfer between airlines within the Lufthansa group? For example if you flew the A320 family for Eurowings, could you easily transfer to either LH or Discover? Or do you still have to undergo the same screening/application process as a candidate applying from an airline external from the LH group? Thanks 👍
Why should you change from Eurowings to discover? There is no reason, unless you wanna make less money. 😅
@@pottkind88 if you want to switch to long haul? As stated in the video, Eurowings does not fly outside of Europe whereas Discover operates flights both inside and outside of Europe, I.e with the A330. Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure in most cases long haul positions have better pay for pilots so you would actually be making more money.
@@pottkind88 you might get to a point in your career where you want to start flying in the morning and come back the same day and see your family that's not gonna work if you work for the long haul airline
I spoke about this recently with 2 Lufthansa CityLine pilots while flying on a jump seat that day. They told me it's not possible. The pilots who graduated from EFA might still be on some waiting list for LH but if you got in as ready-entry to CityLine for example there is, at the moment, no way. Maybe among EW and Discover it's different, but with this new concept probably things will get different and more and more separate (although I still believe that even among them probably there was no way to exchange, but let's wait for Pascal :) ).
I like that they have a destination in Halifax. Make it easier for Atlantic Canadians to go to Europe instead of having to go to instead of having to go to Pearson International Airport.
Are you planning on flying the Discover A350 that will come on in 2027?

@@PascalklrYou must know more about this but, Wikipedia says that there will be a Airbus A350-1000 in Discover Airlines by 2027. Big fan of yours

I like your new design, it's very nice, bright, colorful and friendly and I think it was also important that this was done fundamentally. It's a nice signal that you're heading into the future with discover, why not. Basically, I can't imagine changing the design at Lufthansa, for example, it's very traditional and it has to stay that way. However, the name of the airline should not be changed in the future, otherwise we will have a problem like with hapag Lloyd back then, the name was changed to Thomas Cook Airline, I think, and the passengers did not accept that 😢
I like how the livery has similarities with Lufthansa so that you associate it with quality and not a cheap airline 👍
Pascal, another question I was wondering, in case you can share with us: what is the actual command upgrade in Discover? I guess less than the competition since the airline is still young and small? Thanks a lot and happy landings ✈
It will definitely take less time then flying for Lufthansa or tui. Like you said we are still a young company 💪✌️

Hi Pascal, I am from Windhoek I heard that an a330 Eurowings had a hard landing in Windhoek. Have you heard about it, if you heard about it then are there any updates on the matter

Die Sache ist ganz einfach. Wer kann meidet die Lufthansa Gruppe, egal welche Airline.
Warum sollte man ?
@@AeroPressDispatch weil der Service einfach unfassbar schlecht ist. Wer die Möglichkeit hat fliegt mit arabischen oder noch besser asiatischen Airlines.
@@pottkind88 Ich hab jz ja nur erfahrung auf Tui und EW (Als PAX) und der Service hat mir gefallen und beinfreiheit auch ok, aber pilot werden da ist schon in ordnung oder?
@@AeroPressDispatchwie kann man bei den Touri Bombern über Service sprechen? Da muss man schon ziemlich anspruchslos sein. 😅

@@pottkind88 Naja auf ham lhr richtigen service KP aber von Kanaren auf dem rückweg hatte ich ein leckeres brötchen und für die Preise kann man ja auch nichts erwarten
