This was a fun song to do. As you can see, I wasn't using a double bass pedal so it was challenging lol. Hope you guys enjoy it!

super clean. everybody says they want to see you put your own style in it, but that's the problem with youtube. if i want to watch the song played exactly as it's supposed to be played, it's near impossible to find a video like that. everybody and their moms make "their own" covers. serious props on the single pedal work, too.
When I see the words "make it my own" it makes me cringe.

mr2nut123 exactly! Cobus overplayed to the point that he kinda butchered it. He’s a talented drummer but was way over the top with his cover.
this is exactly the reason i don't watch cooperdrummer. he does a stick flip every chance he gets and adds in his own parts. JUST PLAY IT CORRECTLY lmao

I have heard many drummers in my life and without doubt you play with more precision, skill, and yes passion and soul than most. Every stroke is deliberate and well placed and only enhances the rest of the music, and after all that is the mark of a great drummer. I salute your dedication and work and hope you continue for many, many years to come. I can tell you enjoy it.

All i can say is this. BB is one of my fav bands. I listen to this song alot, and its by far the closest i have heard anyone play a song to the exact tone, beat, even on the small symbols. DUDE 100 thumbs up to you bro

@chrsharvick29 i believe cobus is held as the gold standard because he has just as much talent and style as anybody else doing covers if not more AND his production value is higher than basically everyone else. it looks like hes having a blast all the time, hes got multiple camera angles and the mix is as perfect as it could be. when u have all that going on even people that have never held a drum stick can appreciate it. just my thoughts on y hes so popular.

@deedlebag thanks Cobus...I really appreciate your input because I feel the same way. It's a shame we have to make these arguments about something as fun and enjoyable as drumming. I know you, like me, do this for the pure enjoyment of being creative in your own way. Maybe it's just the nature of the internet that everything has to be a competition.

I played drums for about 6 years, then my wife couldn't stop having kids so I've not played in quite a while. But the kids are getting older and I'm ready for another kit. i believe Chad only uses a single pedal for this song (or only right foot from his double pedal), but either way, you nailed the footwork too.

Ok all in all it sounds good. Nice visuals. Not many ppl who arent in a band do visuals. As of the snare it sounds just right. A small tilt makes the sound more crisp with a slight solid hit. Thumbs up!!

Honestly man, you got me started on this style of drumming, and your a perfect drummer!!!!! This drum cover was definatley perfect, spot on, AND you added in some of your own cool beats and fills. Also, I like how calm you are and how smooth your style is when you play. This cover is DEFINATLEY better than Cobus!! No offense to Cobus. Great Job Man!!!!!

@KeithKueber I use Pro Tools. I don't take out the drums, I just mix them where my drums are louder than the originals.

hey man, ive seen these comments keep popping up on a lot of your videos. well let me tell you; you play with PLENTY of emotion. most people are too basic in how they reference emotion, and since you (brilliantly) film from the top down, most people dont have any facial reference. but trust me, your covers ALL have some TOP-notch playing, pocket and groove, and most importantly; FEEL. all of your covers do justice to the original; and are able to pull off an A+ performance

@chrsharvick29 i learn to play most songs by watching other peoples covers of them, so in that case note for note helps alot. but the videos like Cobus where he has fun and kicks the songs ass are also awesome to watch too lol
