Wouglas, because Paramore is a pop band no one thinks that they can possibly have good musicians but Zac Farro is very creative and very solid behind the kit. One of my favorites.
You're an awesome drummer, seriously. However, you play very quietly! I still enjoy it, but I'm always watching waiting for you to just go crazy, especially in this song at 2:21 I would have loved to see you go crazy haha. Great cover though
I really don't have a secret formula...I just take what people criticize and work on it. I don't even have a template setup. I actually removed the drum shield I usually have around the kit to experiment with the sound. I wish there were more precise of ways of doing these, but I'm working with an ok interface with probably not the greatest pre-amps and trying to get a better sound. The mixing just adds to fun for me...just more experience for things I might do later on.
@xXStrWbrrYsToneXx the key to easy learning for us drummers, is already just having a pretty good since of rhythm. If you have that, it might be worth learning
I edited the audio in Pro Tools 8. I just used various EQs and compressors. Just fooled around until I got the sound I wanted. The video is just straight from the camera to iMovie and I just added my audio. That's about it.
When the video started, for the lack of static noise in the background, I thought my speakers were off. They were definitely at 90% volume when you started playing on the hat. Gave me fright when the guitars came in.
I see. My journey for the search for the perfect mix continues then. I was hoping for exact values in the tweaks you made but it's ok; The secret formula is never revealed eh?
actually, the drums are made by humans (awesome set btw), and there's a really talented but still human playing the song, so it is quite artificial. awesome cover man, keep uploading videos like this ; )

@Devink3 a double stroke by definition is with one hand. johnny rabb uses gravity rolls or "freehand technique". my arrogant youtube rant is over ;)

@maveguitar It's because he's in a dry, carpet-floored room (probably with carpet walls too), close micing his drums and isn't applying any reverb.
