Hiya matey. Wow you did a top job there. I hadn't thought about the fact that the copied stickers don't have numbers like the Tamiya ones. Looks the business mate. Makes me think that I ought to do something with that TA-01 Cosworth that I have. I've done the same as you a d got the modern Tamiya wheels and Chinese rally blocks. That pearl finish was inspired, and great tip with the gaffa handle! Wish I'd thought of that before I did mine... I really need to sort it out so it doesn't look so basic! 😬 Always enjoy your rally vids Mark, great stuff. 😎👍
Hiya, Steve - yeah I think I've got a thing for pearl white, I used it to substitute for plain white on the last 3 white RC bodies! It does add that extra depth to the finish, though. You can get several liveries for the Escort from rcdecals.co.uk, it might be worth taking a look. Cheers, mate, have a great weekend. 😎👍
Glad you enjoyed it, my friend Fons! Oh yeah, these rally cars have a special place in my heart, so many good memories of seeing them run in the RAC rally of England all those years ago. Take care, mate! 😎👍
Great work Mark. Those Kamtec window masks are awesome. Worth knowing when looking at their bodies. Really liked your tip with the tape on the top of the body. I have an XV-01 to build and I am going to use that 🙌🏻👍🏻
Cheers, Craig! Oh yeah, definitely worth having a look at Kamtec, good stuff there and a lot of repro bodies, I also have the Neo Scorcher to do. The masks are fine, I think I went on about them a bit!!! Hehe, your Lancia shell will be in good hands with that tape on the top! All the best, mate! 😎👍

Very impressive mate, pearl looks lovely, and a great job with the decals👌, also the driver and co-driver look very nicely painted,I do like a cozzie or any old ford for that matter 😊🇬🇧
Thank you so much Carl! You are very kind. Yes, the model does look more complete with the driver cockpit fitted, I spent a while painting that! Got to agree, the old Fords are great looking cars. All the best from Mark... 😀
Restoration turned out great, the Tiger stripe ford sure is a beauty. If I might suggest, a body hole reamer could be a good item to get, makes perfect holes everytime, and doesnt cost more than a tenner if you for a brand like absima etc.
Thanks for the tip, I really appreciate that! Hehe, did you see the mess I made of the rear body holes with a drill? Yes, I will take your advice and get one soon. Definitely worth the money, I think. All the best and thanks again! :O)
Wow, thanks! It's very nice to be compared to those guys! I love their channels, great content. I'll do my best to keep them coming - cheers from Mark... :O)
Back to all it's glory. After market decals are a pain, but Tamiya could make money for these much in demand bodies. I must use that piece of tape on my next lexan body.
Cheers, Mal! I'm so happy to have this beauty back, close to original, it's not as good as the Tamiya body but there was no way I was paying the stupid prices wanted for original parts. Yeah, that tape trick works a treat! 😎
Absolutely love the cosworth my favorite is Michael piolt livery the motorsport one look similar to the tiger stripe but is not the tiger stripe awesome job pal 👏
I'm doing an escort cosworth too at the minute but the martini livery. It's the L and L models repro body. Lacks a little detail compared to the tamiya body and the decals are pretty thick like yours. I'm having to use a hairdryer to get the decals properly in place. Hard work but hopefully it'll look as good as yours when I'm done
Hi Rich, sounds like a great project you are working on! Yes, I think the original Tamiya bodies are the best but you can't always get the ones you want! Definitely needed a hairdryer to make those decals comply. I'm sure your Martini Cosworth will look awesome, best of luck!
Hi Mark, OCD much, lol who’s gonna see a tiny bit of clear decal on a 25mph rc rally car. Lol 😝. It’s definitely a class body set, and with the decals on it’s just gorgeous, especially when it’s on the car with the driver cockpit in. You’d need the patience of job from the bible, to get those decals correctly positioned. It definitely looks the business. Great video Mark. 😎👍👍👍🇬🇧
Hello, Mikey! Haha, maybe I am OCD!!! But you know me, I couldn't stick those decals on with the lip sticking out!!! Yes, it really is a beaty of a rally car. So glad I got my old fave back again. It was a pain in the a$$, but worth it. All the best, matey! 😎👍
Hi again Mark, i'm catching up on some of your earlier videos :) Awesome job on the decals. It reminds me a bit of your Lancia Delta and Audi Q sticker jobs This was my fav car from the early 90's. I actually have the original decals still around. Mine back then was in a British Racing Green and Quaker State decals.
Hi again, Are! Great you are catching up on my stuff! This was a fun body to do, except for the thick decals! The Delta was also a great body to do as well as the Quattro. Awesome rally icons! If only I had your decals this would be perfect. I'd love to see that version of yours!
the result is great - have you tried to save the body? I´ve tried it with a Schnitzer BMW... with a result I was happy in the end, but had to overcome many issues... bringing back this old cars is awesome - well done Mark
Thanks! I must admit I haven't touched the old body. I think it would take more time and effort than I have available! Good to know you had some success! I totally agree, it's a good feeling to restore an old RC to it's former glory! 👌👍
Awesome work. I have the same model except I have the mechanical speed controller inside with the heat capacitor (big white block) is this something yours originally came with or did you replace those with more modern ESC items from way back as I can see in your video?
Thanks very much! Yes the original car I bought is the same as in this video and did come with a mechanical speed controller (MSC). The white block is a resistor that's used to reduce the voltage to the motor. I replaced it with an electronic ESC a few years back as they are linear proportional from 0 to 100% throttle and don't waste current like an MSC. Much better control and better battery life as you probably know. Thanks for the comment and all the best! 😎👍
She's turned out well wish I'd not sold mine years back also did mine in the same white catches the sun well...beautiful car job well done dude . 😎👌🔥🔥🔥

hi mark, looks great!! can't wait to seeing run:)those tiger stripe decals looked like a right pain, i honestly don't know how you have the patients for them! i am going to be painting another tamiya quattro body, would you say that applying heat to the decals helps them stick and gives a better finish? all the best my friend and have a nice weekend.
Hi Fire! Thanks a ton, mate! Yep, the decals were a real pain, but I'm so glad I stuck with it and got the job done. Oooh, another Quattro? So nice! Definitely, I needed heat to get my Quattro stickers to sit properly, get the hair dryer out! A great weekend to you too, cheers! 😎👍

Hi Mark, hope you’re keeping well. Wow! You certainly enjoyed that RC Escort rally car, that original body was feeling the pressure of Mark Bryan RC behind the controls!😂😊. That Kamtec body and decals, on camera look very close to the original indeed, and that white pearl, white, silver and black backing, certainly bring out the colour well, great job on that body. Did you not fancy having a go at doing the black window surrounds in black paint? Although you did get nice crisp lines around the windows with those good Kamtec window masks. Those decals certainly look like there took some hours to fit, especially having to trim each one for precise fitting, man you’re a real expert though! Get a Kamtec shell and keep the other for a shelfie. That event at the brewery sounds blooming great, have a good try to get all 34 tasted! Have a great weekend, laters, matey!
Once you know how them stickes it's easy to do bud 👌

Man I keep looking at my TA01 escort cosworth I need to restore it. You have done a great job 👍😃
Hi Ian - oh wow, you got one too?!?!? Such a fantastic little Tamiya. Maybe you can get a Kamtec body, or even one from the new Tamiya Escort road car? All the best, my friend. 👍👍👍
nice project, i sort of messed up a body, mistakenly backed white shell with dark color, Ug- not a complete loss but duuummmmmbb, that blue is awesome
Cheers! Oh, yes, I've also messed up a few bodies, but we live and learn! Now I always back light colours with silver, seems to work well! All the best! :O)
Absolutely brilliant Mark. I take my hat off to you mate. That is a job very well done 🙂👍

Thanks, Barry! I'm pleased that you approve - it was a lot of work but I'm really happy with the result, can't wait to see it running and hopefully get some good footage of it up close. Cheers!

Thats a very good restore mark, i also am a big fan off the ford rally cars to.
Good Job again mate👍👍

@@MarkBryanRC yeah I ruined one body with a drill and then got a reamer. Reamers are one of those ”why didnt I use these earler?” items. :)
That’s one of the cleanest restoration I’ve seen for your TA-02~ You seriously remind me of #TamiyaLegends and #RCKicks~ Keep up the awesome videos :)
Totally agree, the Pilot is an awesome paint scheme! You are lucky to have both the Pilot and the Tiger Stripe! All good. All the best, dude! 😎👍
@@MarkBryanRC the Michael piolt car is the original shell and chassis from 93 like your the tigger is on tt02 chassis with magnet so no body post
Good painttrick wth the ductape 👍
Hi Gregory, glad you liked that little tip - thank you! :)
Hi again Mark, i'm catching up on some of your earlier videos :)
Awesome job on the decals. It reminds me a bit of your Lancia Delta and Audi Q sticker jobs
This was my fav car from the early 90's.
Very nice!
Thank you! Cheers!
Looks mint.
Thanks, Matthew!
I’ve just got a nib one of these. Can’t pluck up the courage to build it.
Oh yes, I saw your photo on FB!! Awesome find, Nick, I'm sure the courage will come soon! Cheers! 🍺😎👍
