When I was a competitive shooter I regularly went to Eley to test fire tenex to find the best batch that suited my rifle. I then bought 15000 rounds that lasted me for the next 12 months. Test firing was in a controlled indoor environment. It was surprising how much difference there was between batches. I think testing a random batch outdoors proves very little. Using an Anschutz 2013 with tenex at 100 yards, prone with a sling and iron sights my best ever group in competition was 1/2 inch for 10 shots, all touching the "tenex" ring on an NSRA target.
Thats good shooting I'm sure your right as tenx did have very low SD and ES figures but R50 and SK long-range match have all been random lots just seems my barrel preferred other ammo. One strange thing it did shoot well at 200 meters.
That Anshutz definitely loves those R50’s which as you correctly state is what they use to produce the test cards that come with the rifles. I reckon you’d do sub MOA at a 100 with no wind……👍
I’m assuming that best group was also R50 ? Which model of 1761 do you have ? I’ve been looking on Anchutz website and I can’t see one with that step in the wood on the fore end. I’m looking for a longer range 22LR as we speak. Something that’s a cross over hunter/benchrest / varmint type. Been looking at the Anshutz APR MDT XRS and obviously various CZ LRP / MTR / at one etc. Would value your opinion ?
I a m going to buy one of these Anschutz 1761 if I can ever find one and hold it 😉 ps Does thus rifle out shoot the 10 different variations of the CZ457 ?
@@jimhamilton3544 there's certainly nothing wrong with the cz I'm guessing iv about 1500 to 2000 down the barrel now and iv seen the group's getting smaller Iv also add a EC turner brake which set to 1.5 gave me a average of .29 for SK long-range match for six five shot groups. but ran out of R50 for full test but I think it will beat SK long-range match 🤞 Only match ammo it's shown me a dislike for is Eley tenex .89 average and with the turner brake fitted .46 average Keep a eye out as just picked up some lapua midus + and more R50 is coming
I have 2 cz457 and eley ammo don't shoot in any of these czs I have 6 cz rifles in my opinion that is not a very good ammo the eley I mean now the sk and the lapua center x shootes lights out hope this might help. Beagleman
Leave the dog,the chrono, and 90% of your conversation home and you’ll be a hell of a shot without the distraction. Aim at the. Bull so you don’t subconsciously aim at the hits! Easy game !Why complicate it? Have a good day!

@ykdickybill if I had to pick one I'd go 1710 xlr as a do it all
@ykdickybill yep r50 but there nothing in it between 50 and sk long range
@ykdickybill if your in the UK my 1761 is after a new home
Thanks for the video. I am seriously thinking of buying one of these rifles.👍
Only downside is there's no 10 round mag as yet hopefully there will be one soon.

Get off the ground, get a bench, get rid of bipod, get sand bags. Thank you
