    It costs £240 (Approx $300) for a Camera and Solar Panel. (It was around 15% discounted on Black Friday)
    This camera works off a rechargeable battery, Solar panel if you want it to be completely hands off, a 4G Sim Card and Micro SD Card (Optional). True 1080p Full HD. Cover 110° wide field of view, 2 megapixels Starlight CMOS Image Sensor and up to 33ft Night Vision. Honestly, Works very well at night and detects motion extremely well!
    Check out full specifications: reolink.com/product/reolink-g...
    Also check out the product page for the Reolink GO, very interesting: reolink.com/product/reolink-g...
    I set up the Reolink Go in a remote location where WiFi and Power Outlets were not available. It's a brilliant security camera to keep an eye on remote locations. You can deploy the security camera in the middle of fields, up the side of mountains, Forests, Building sites, Pretty much anywhere.
    The Reolink App works incredibly well, very easy to use. Probably the best security camera app I've ever used. It has so many features such as Two-Way Audio, That's right, you can talk through it. Motion Detection, Alarms, Snapshot Photos and Videos and more.
    It was very easy to set up, just mount the camera, Insert the battery, Sim and SD Card. Scan the QR code with the App and that's it!
    Without the Solar Panel connected it uses on average 5% per day if you regularly connect to it and get several emails from motion detection. However since then, I've left it unplugged and it's used even less battery since, closer to 3% a day.
    It does not have WiFi but this is the point of this camera, It uses a 4G Data. If you're in the UK you can use EE, 02, Vodafone and Three. In the US you can use AT&T and T-Mobile. But I do not understand why you couldn't use another provider, it's worth asking them to see if there would be a problem or not.
    The issue with connecting to it seems to have been fixed. Other than the problem with the way the back twists on it's an amazing camera and I would 100% recommend it. If you'd like some more videos on Reolink cameras, Let me know in the comments.
    Thanks for watching!

      Hi! Does this camera record when motion is detected? If yes, how long does it record for?

    • @moneymakingexpert
      @moneymakingexpert  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kd3463 Yes it does record when motion is detected. I believe it will record for the amount of time there is motion and you can set how long before and after the motion to record. There possibly is a limit to the recordings size but it will create another motion record straight after the other so you wont lose any footage!

      Abell To did u end up buying one? I have also been looking for a decent camera just like this too. I am sick of having cameras that needs power supply and that’s impossible when you want an outdoor security camera. I have wasted so much money on cameras already by rushing and buying them without researching into cameras like this.
      The night vision only works if it’s outside or not seeing through a window Cos it doesn’t work if you have it at the window looking outside. When put at the windows night vision sucks and you only see reflections of the camera etc.

    Thanks for your review! Does the app allow you to record snippets on demand, for example if I’m living viewing and I want to record a minute or two clip to the SD card can I do that?
    I’m looking at getting this camera to watch the construction of my house and I want to take a 1-2 minute clip every 12 hours to do a time lapse video at the end. I assume this can’t be timed in the app but was hoping I can have it record to SD when I ask it to.

      Hey, Thanks! I'm not sure whether you can record snippets on demand to the SD Card, I currently do not have a SD card in the camera however in the settings there does not seem to be that function. If you wanted to take a 1-2 minute clip then you could just do it direct to your phone or computer while live viewing. I think that would work fine for you!

    How well would you figure this could work for me, assuming no 4G connectivity (signal is spotty where it's at and it's currently not supported where I live). I'm interested in it for the SD Card local storage capability but I'm curious if it can do continuous recording (have you tried larger SD Cards with it, the website says they only support 64GB which isn't a lot imo). Sorry for the barrage of questions but would you be able to download the contents of the sd card to your phone app through wifi only?

    • @moneymakingexpert
      @moneymakingexpert  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey again, Yes you can download the motion detected footage to your phone. The device is only 4G so doesn't use WiFi and you don't need your phone on WiFi to download the footage (Hope that answers that question). Pretty sure it's a no to continuous recording. As for you, It would record any motion regardless of signal. When either your phone or camera gets signal then you can connect to it and see what it's recorded. Thanks

      You can view it on a computer monitor instead of a phone so that isn't a problem. However, if you're going to be live viewing the Reolink Go for long periods of time, it will eat your data. I'd probably look into the Reolink Argus wifi camera and use outdoor wifi. Depending on how long the drive is, you could run Cat6a cable for a POE camera. You can run CAT6a 90M.

    Do you know of a system that allows multiple cameras over a local WiFi network sending back to 4g? I need a multi-cam setup - but don't want to have to get 4 sim cards with 4 separate bills. - If all 4 had motion detection settings and could send an image through the mini WiFi network and then upload via 4g would be great. Great review.

      @moneymakingexpert  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey, sorry no that would not work. What your best off doing is get either Reolink POE cameras or Reolink WiFi cameras. Then purchase a 4G router, I'd recommend the Huawei B525-4G. Fantastic Router. If you go for POE cameras then you'll need a POE switch and run Cat cable to power them. However this set up, You only need the one Data Sim Card, then all camera connect to the router. You'll just need to power the router separately. Hope that makes sense. Thanks!

    Can this camera work without wifi? Basically it just uses a 4g network to transmit video or pictures? If its solar powered does that mean it will work indefinitely without needing any maintenance? Also as far as live video what are the plans associated with that & is this the best camera there is ? It may be worth checking the Arlo out, I haven’t so couldn’t comment, all I know is that the Arlo is more expensive and I don’t think it includes a solar panel. Before I was with EE in the UK and paid £10 per month so quite a bit more expensive. See what some of the supported carriers can do, fyi i use hardly any data, literally a couple of GB would be suitable but if you are going to constantly live view the camera you’ll need more. • @moneymakingexpert
      @moneymakingexpert  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      peter c That’s what it was for me in the UK, I’m now paying £4 for unlimited through Vodafone, you could ask Reolink to see if they plan on doing something like that in the US. I don’t know of any main brands doing them, there are a few like the Vosker but nothing that really comes to mind. I’ve only really stuck with the Reolink 4G cameras, I used to install loads of security cameras, so when I came across Reolink I ended up sticking with them because their software and support was really good. For a home security camera outdoor I always now use any of the POE Reolink 5MP cameras, indoor I’ve used the C1 but there are so many indoor cameras to choose from, a lot of big names, but I like to keep with the same brand as all my other cameras and keep them all on the same app. I get what you mean about the Nest, I don’t like the subscription model they push. They’ll be some top 10 or top 5 videos on TH-cam for the indoor cameras, I know blink, ring, eufy, TP Link all have cameras in that market. My advice would be to stay with a certain brand and keep it simple unless you’re going through third party software/recorder. Hope that helps 👍 if you get a sec don’t forget to like, share and subscribe, helps out a lot!

    Warning about Reolink Cameras!!!
    The recording can only go as long as 30 secs!!!

      And the app doesn’t tell you what’s wrong if you are not connected or streaming… their support page and manual vague as well

      @@Welcome_To_Life That's odd. We had to contact them very recently and they were prompt and informative, although our problem was with the sim card (not Reolink) they helped us identify the issue fery quickly so we could get it resolved. We've been using exclusively Reolink for years now, both wifi cams and Go models, no complaints. I agree their documentation isn't the best, the translations to English are awkward, but their support has been flawless for us. Sorry to hear your experience hasn't been the same.

    Is it stand alone or do i HAVE TO use their 3rd party server to have all data go through? Even if subscription is free i still dont want to rely on them

      You will only use them If you want to use their cloud but that's only available for a few countries. Otherwise you had a Micro SD card inside the camera that you'll grab recordings from. Then of course you need the sim card as well, so you have to go through a carrier. Hope that makes sense.

      Thank you for responding. I am no networking guy, but what i am interested in finding out if the software gives the camera its own network address, where i could access it from my home server directly. Much like port forwarding to access your home stuff. If i remember correctly sim card is linked to device imei and mac address, what happens after technicaly speaking to access device remotely, i dont know. Term and tech is above my pay grade but that is the gist of what i was interested in

      @@amp2345 I see what you're on about but unfortunately I don't know if you would be able to get access to it like that or not. It would be really interesting if you could, I think you would have to ask Reolink themselves. If you do find out please let us all know! Thanks

    Why do you have to pay monthly?? Can’t I just get a SD card and record on the camera for free?

    • @moneymakingexpert
      @moneymakingexpert  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a 4G remote camera, you pay a monthly fee to a mobile carrier for a sim card. If you don't want to connect to in remotely just get a normal security camera. Thanks

    First camera I've ever seen that comes with a weatherproof condom. lol Spray on or paste carnauba wax inside and outside the metal housing and base protects it nicely.
