Thank you so much for this video. It’s exactly the information I was after! Sometimes it’s so hard finding a video with all the information you need and also to the point and also easy to listen to. Thank you thank you.
I’m studying and my thumb just goes right through the sheets and they become uncomfortable and awkward and I’m always having to adjust. I might try a pair of these!

I got my first pair of double swivels right out of Beauty school. Never went back to traditional shears.

I can’t go back to a non flexible swivel. I like my nail extensions too much.

Draw back is scissor/shear flipping to palm. It’s impossible with swivel.

Even just basic palming can be tough with all that extra metal

I'm a barber and looking forward to purchasing some double swivel shears. do you recommend me to get some when I'm working on short hair all the time? I also have issues with point cutting on a man's hair with regular shears.

Many people recommend if you have one pair swivel thumb, all your shears should be swivel thumb. It's a pretty good rule for ergonomics. They are especially good for shear over comb work for keeping the stationary blade stationary. I should do a video or 2 on point cutting, there are some tricks to it and it's totally different on long hair vs short. Thanks for watching!

It’s really hard to find somewhere to try these scissors. And they are expensive so do you think it’s best to have double swivel or single swivel as a beginner?

Personally I like the double swivel. They can seem a little unsteady for the first couple minutes but offer the most control and freedom of movement. If you have any shear sharpeners that travel to salons in your area, they often sell shears and are more than happy to let you try them out. Thanks for watching!

Probably too late by now, but Fresh Shears are where I got mine. The owner of the barber school I went to used to have a contract with them and even though he partners with Hanko now, he still swears by Fresh. $109 for the DS or the single swivel. The best part is that they have a replacement program. Whenever you want a new pair, you send yours in and pay $50 for the new ones.
