❤I had the biggest crush on that man growing up watched him when he was on tv. He looked like my dad and I did feel such a connection to him Pulled him up on utube and had forgotten his specials were often directed to children. Starting in 58. I’m glad my mom introduced me to appreciating culture
Having known Bernstein for a bit in my professional life, Cooper nailed the mannerisms and vocal cadence. The conducting, while a decent effort, was just too distracting IMO. But “A” for effort. Conducting is hard!
I saw the movie 🎬... excellent interpretation...I felt the magic and power of the music... was from different dimension for sure... really impressed... well done Bradley Cooper.... Man of The Year! ....
What bothered me the most about his performance was the voice he did when Bernstein got older. The real Leonard sounded nothing like the mumbling crap Cooper made himself sound.
His energy has found its way to me??? My goodness the arrogance. The delusion. I am the anointed one. I carry his mantle and his memory!!!! Look, I admire Bernstein. I even managed to get through the movie, but Bradley is just being so holier than thou. It's rather nauseating. I think his emotional avoidance about talking about him is actually a device to avoid having a serious conversation about him.
@juggles5474 I am glad I am not the only one who was taken aback by his assumption that Bernstein was channeling through him. I found that rather Breathtaking. And I live in Hollywood!
How poetic that such a talented and all around brilliant actor/director would play one of the century’s greatest musicians, who had the same sort of all encompassing talent. This movie is a gift to the world and especially to us musicians. I didn’t “meet” Lenny personally, but I lived near him when I studied at Juilliard. I once had to wait to cross the sidewalk when Lenny pulled out of the Dakota building with a young attractive man in his convertible. Felicia was gone by then. I won’t ever forget this chance encounter. You could never mistake who it was. Thank you, Bradley. If you don’t win many Oscars for this achievement, there’s simply no excuse. You deserve it.
I get what Bradley is saying. A couple of weeks ago, I was at a bachelor party, and things got really out of hand. People disappeared, we woke up with no recollection of what had happened during the night...and there was a tiger... Crazy stuff. But I think of Bradley (well, he is Brad to me)...and I feel he was there with me, even though we have never met... There was a bond...and if you ask if I miss him? Yes...yes, I do... 🥹 I'm sorry...I can't talk about it...😥😥😥
Is this the same guy that referred to his daughter as an it and didn’t know if he loved her for the first eight months of her life? I’m sure he kept his family intact, right?
I’ve never known such reverence and hype over an utterly unremarkable film. Bad BBC camera shot choices, unintelligible dialogue where everybody speaks over each other, zero narrative pace, no story other than he’s gay snd she dies, no capture of the dynamism of Bernstein’s music, bad aging make-up, ridiculous accents. Looks like an actual parody of an 80s Oscar fodder movie. Crying because he thinks he knows him? Give me a break.
Good acting, sure. But the "connection" is in his brain. He created it and made himself believe in it. It's called acting. Bernstein has been pushing daisies for more than 33 years... also, his "conducting"... cough-cough...
How self important does this guy think he is to think he has some spiritual connection to the person he’s playing 😂 he is the embodiment of Oscar bait omfg
I couldnt get through the film, which was strange because the music was beautiful obviously and it was filmed very beautifully. BUT. The dialogue felt so forced and unrealistic. Too "smart" for its own good and so I felt very disconnected. Maybe I'll try watching it again only because of Carey Mulligan who's just amazing.
Anyone who thinks this is a grab is an idiot. If you are in character and deep dive on a character for three years you feel connected with them and lose yourself for a bit. This is called method acting ; and if you don’t believe it this is why you aren’t an actor.
Seriously. It wasn’t a movie about Leonard Bernstein the genius conductor. It was a movie about some gay guy hiding his sexuality. We’ve seen that movie 5000 times already
It was an amazing film. I have no interest in gay lifestyle or bisexual lifestyle. However, I know beauty when I see it. This is a beautiful film from start to finish. Kudos to Bradley Cooper.
Bro got an A+ on the drama assignment.
I've never seen someone try so hard to get an Oscar
Hopefully, he won't get it. I like Cooper, but I hated his performance as Bernstein.
yep, bordering desperate
Thought it was just me 😂. I feel like most of his career is too try hard
Austin Butler insisting he had perma-Elvis voice is pretty close though
@@samharold9022 LMAO! I actually think he did though.
wtf and I thought parasocial relationships were weird. Bradley Cooper is hitting us with a paranormal relationship.
So add him to the long list of Hollywood weirdos. What a shame.

You had a crush on him and he looks like your dad?
Bernstein: Who Tf Is This Dude , Crying Over Me Though ………..
"Lost in the sauce," is what we call this!
How do you miss someone without ever having met them? This is Jared Leto levels of cringe
Why is Jared Leto cringe? 😂
He was getting emotional with the do you miss him question?😮
There’s nothing even close to Jared Leto cringe. He is at an entirely different level
I actually miss Audrey Hepburn. I wasn't even born when she died.

Our son played one of Leonard Bernstein's pieces and it was awesome. What a talented man. Thank you, Bradley Cooper... you're amazing!
What bothered me the most about his performance was the voice he did when Bernstein got older. The real Leonard sounded nothing like the mumbling crap Cooper made himself sound.
Bradley Cooper is a consummate artist and professional!
Indeed.
BC is about QUALITY and not QUANTITY. Much respect! ❤
Saw it last week. Incredible. Don't miss it. The Mahler 2nd sequence is the film's showstopper!

The ego on this man is unbelievable

Bravo Bradley 💯💥😍👏👏👏👏👏👏💕

Outstanding performance by Bradley. 🎉🎉🎉
He had to portray a gay character for Oscar consideration
@@joeblow9931 He has been nominated before playing a straight character.
@mistyblueeyes4024 yes...but starting this year movies have to meet certain "standards" to be nominated. "Project aperture "
From uptown!
😴😴😴 arty farty talk! I’m not a fan of when actors start talking like this
Precisamente lo que peor hace, es la mímica de dirección orquestal. Lo hace muy mal.
It looks like he even had a nose job for this role. What a dedication for a film.
the movie was beyond boring
Truth. Boring and ridiculous.
@@TomRipley7350 I had the urge to have a cigarette watching it
I was astounded at how empty and boring and self-important this movie was
Can you be any more pretentiousness LOL
He misses him at a spiritual or emotional level that is what he means

he too thirsty for that Oscar.
lol 😂 dude chill. I got more feels from the last talking Racoon movie you did than this movie. Drama kids are dorks
Oh please 🤔
Bradley Cooper hit the wall
Bradley was 25 years old he couldn't meet Leonard in 1990. 🥺
It said they never met
Bradley seems to have met him and misses him dearly! LOL!
He did embodied him .. I felt it! Brilliant
Cooper really looks like him.
Is this the same guy that referred to his daughter as an it and didn’t know if he loved her for the first eight months of her life? I’m sure he kept his family intact, right?
Yep. Same guy. He was only with the mom for 4 years. Something is off with this guy.
An actor doing what an actor is meant to do. Doing great acting.
Amazing acting! One of Coppers best movies.

Should have got the Oscar
eh cillian was actually amazing and i don’t think anyone was surprised that he got it
Can’t wait to see this movie! Love you Bradley
A must see movie I’m surprised that it’s not in a lot of theaters
... it is a Netflixproduction ;-) ...

Man is so full of himself
the movie was one of the weakest I have seen in recent years, pity, because I had anticipated seeing it so much
It was so bad lol
Best actor Oscar 2024!!! Brilliant
Boring as f
How come when Daniel day Lewis gets all pretentious about his acting no one calls him out but when it’s Bradley cooper they do?
lol both are... Cooper definitely more so. This is just extreme.
But he wasn’t, he cannot actually conduct
I thought BuzzFeed exaggerated

GREAT MOVIE.
i smell flop
Goodness this is such a bunch of mumbo jumbo
Bradley Cooper merecia o Oscar. Interpretação impecável no papel de Leonard Bernstein, o grande LENNY! ❤
I never met him but omg let me cry cuz I feel like I did 😂😂😂😂

VOCE E UM GRANDE ARTISTA😊
You are the Best Bradley and the Maestro was Excellent
Realy the best film ever!!! Ik can't sleep the night after i have seen the movie
Excelente!!!!! Interpretación
Movie was boring focused too much on sexuality I wanted to see his genius missed by a mile
I agree, the least interesting part of Lenny's life was his sexuality. I was disappointed with this aspect.
