- Recently I just bought a car from one of the local car dealer. It was a 2009 Kia Cerato Forte and this was actually my dream car to own 10 years ago. Right now having a car it's really convenient for us as we are able to bring our baby Claris out anytime, anywhere and sometimes public transport can be packed and crowded.
There are alot of things to be done on the car. Replacement of suspension, tires and oil change etc..

What do you do for a living that enable you to purchase a car and a bike in singapore?
I'm working in the banking/finance industry.. Indeed owning a car or bike in Singapore is really costly.. Cost of a vehicle, insurance, roadtax, miscellaneous stuff e.g. servicing, wear & tear parts replacement and season parking, it's all about $$$. Hence we got to plan and manage our finance well... 😁
Hi I am torn between Kia Forte, Toyota Corolla and Hyundai avante. How is the fuel consumption and the durability for the forte? thank you!
Hi Chloven 👋 Toyota Corolla and Hyundai Avante will have much better fuel consumption because it's chassis are lighter compared to Kia Forte. Wheel size and tire width also play apart too.. But of course high speed driving and cornering, Kia Forte will feel more steady because of it's weight. You will probably get 10km/l on Kia Forte and 11km/l on Corolla and Avante.. Fuel consumption also very much depends on your driving style and ratio between city driving / highway driving. I would say all these 3 cars are very reliable nowadays. Just make sure you get the car inspected before purchasing it. End of the day, pick a car that suits you e.g. Design, style, feature. Most importantly, buy a car that you like the most. 😁

One more question ! Does your car dealers pay for the evaluation of the car or do we have to fork out?
@@DeViLman8682 Yes, the 2009 model. Anyway 2009 & 2010 model are the same.. We don't pay for the car evaluation but usually it's already factor in into the selling price.. Of course we need to pay for the inspection cost but that's optional. 😊

forte's engine ever caught fire in SG roads. I will not go for a COE forte.

Yea.. I'm still driving the same car. Quite a decent car, I would say. I've never owned a Honda Civic or City before, so couldn't comment much about it.. Cost wise, Kia Forte definitely alot cheaper than Honda cars if you don't want to burn your wallet too much.. 😁 It's easier to maintain also. 😊

@@kernelspy You're welcome.. 😁 Mine is SX model which have more features installed in the car.. But I don't see there's much difference in price for SX and EX model.. For buying a used car, request the dealer to send the car to your car workshop for a full check before purchase it. Parts wise are definitely available as Kia Forte is quite popular in SG..

Hey bro.. bought the same model as you. I realised my pickup is really slow compared to those Toyota Corolla Altis and Prius. Do yours face the same issue?
Hi Jarrell, congrats on your new ride.. My pickup was pretty good for a 1.6 Litre Engine.. There might be a few root cause to the issue and please get your mechanism rectify the issue.. It can be either faulty spark plug, dirty fuel filter, dirty air intake filter or too much throttle cable free play (For year 2009 & 2010 model only) Remove the free play by tightening the throttle cable and you will feel the difference instantly.

Hi Adlisyahir, I would say this particular Kia Forte are quite reliable and no issues at all after owning it for a few months.. For fuel mileage, I'm getting about 9-10 Km/L (Urban Driving) and 11-12 Km/L (Urban Driving 60% / Highway Driving 40%) It's all depends on your right foot also.. Anyway enjoy your new coming ride..
