Honey, my mother-in-law made the best apple stack cake! Every single church homecoming that was what she made. Sometimes she made it with applesauce or apple butter. My favorite was the apple butter because it’s just a wonderful flavor. She had eleven children, not kidding! That cake was gone in just a few minutes. My mama never made that cake so it was a real treat to get a slice. My husband could eat that entire jar of apple butter with some hot buttermilk biscuits. You need to show these younger folks how to make apple butter. 😋🥰🤗
I absolutely love this cake, I haven’t had the Appalachian version, which I hear is fabulous as well and I have seen so many variations of this cake, but this one is delicious 🙌 Russ loves the apple butter too and you can put it on anything and it’s good but biscuits is one of his favorites too. He did link my apple butter video in the description, I made it in a crockpot. I made this one on the stove and put it in my vita mix that works great too! Lawd 11 churrin whew, bless her lol!! Yessss, I actually made a quick batch with the apples this year on the stove for this, just a small batch, 2 qts and we have ate it all! I love that it’s so simple and honey when it’s cold the next day it is even better 🙌🥰
