You aren't fooling anyone... I know you are Mathew Mcconaughey. Thanks for the vid, I found it really helpful as I'm thinking of picking up one from the dealer today.

Thanks for the review, I just got my 7 year old the 110f and my 13 year old the 125f and I have fun on both! I am have been looking at this bike for myself to ride with the kiddos and it seems perfect. It’s good to hear a review from a someone who understands bikes and what they are used for.

Major advantage over the 250R/X is the maintenance. The 250F is air-cooled and lower revving. So you’ll go years between rebuilds.

Very good no nonsense review RevRider! Couldn't have said it any better myself. I picked one up as well last year (2019 model), and just love the hell out of this bike. The only mods I did were replacing the pipe with a FMF Powercore 4 and I changed out the handlebars with some fatter bars. And like you said, this ain't a track or race bike, it's just a great all around dependable trail bike. It'll get you anywhere you want to go with enough power and torque to get you up any hill. I'm 59, going on 60, and wanted to get back in to the sport without killing myself on a 450. I'll work my way up to a bigger 250 or 450, but for now, this bike is just right! Enjoy the ride, look forward to more videos!

My buddy and I are 52, and 54 and just bought a 19' and 21' after not riding for 20 years or so. Everything the review states as well as yourself are accurate. Having said that, I thought it would take longer to get back into the swing, if at all lol, but after 2-3 weeks it comes back quick. Ordered a KTM XC-F 250 for next spring. Look forward to a little stiffer (although still softer for trails) suspension, a little snappier throttle response, and drop 30-35 lbs of bike weight. The F is an extremely heavy bike. To be clear it's no knock on the CRF whatsoever. She's a well built, low maintenance bulletproof bike, and well worth every penny. Great first full size or old guy bike to be sure.

I currently reside in western ky and just got one of these. I love it. Awesome bike for cruising around the trails and river bottoms here. Had a 450r out in San Diego for a while riding the desert and this thing is so much fun to ride. Such a dream compared to that beast.

I’m in western KY also I do a lot of riding at Gregory’s atv park in Drakesboro. You are absolutely right about the 250F, it is a dream to ride. I am relatively new to dirt bike riding and couldn’t be happier with the 250F. I’ve got a friend that had a 450r and it was way too much bike for simple trail riding. So glad I went with the 250F!

I’m in western Kentucky too lol. I’m looking to buy one of these bikes if I can find one locally. First bike was a xr100 and last one was a cr125r which was a blast to ride but I just want something that’s bulletproof with less maintenance.

@@crhonda6425 I’ve owned mine since October of last year, I changed the oil once for peace of mind since I bought the bike used. If Honda’s air cooled engine history repeats with this bike, I foresee a long future of riding ahead, it’s just hard if not impossible to beat Honda reliability/dependability.

@@MrGunner945 Thanks for the quick reply. I’ve heard nothing but good out of them so far. The fuel injection and dual disk brakes have me the most excited about it. I find it kind of disappointing it doesn’t have a backup Kickstarter but I guess it could be roll started in a pinch. I have always bought my stuff used but from what I’ve seen people are pretty much asking new prices for them so it could be an opportunity to buy new and build my credit up in the process.

I bought a lightly used 2020 model from my nephew, who thought it was going to be a wheelie monster. That’s not what this bike is about. It is, however, a fantastic trail bike. I’m 5’6” with a 28” inseam. I get the balls of my feet down, or I can get one foot all the way down. I’ve put Acerbis handguards on the bike, and I’ll probably do the headlight kit for it, but other than that it’s stock. I’m really liking mine and I ride it every chance I get.

    • @MrGunner945

Due to the lower price, I think people get the impression that they are going to get a Honda dirt bike that can be made into something it’s not, nor can be at a much lower price than the bikes actually designed and engineered for higher type performances. Understanding the design, purpose and capabilities of the CRF250F is crucial when purchasing one. Using it for its intended purpose, in my opinion, makes it one of the best options in its field!

I want to say it's similar to my 2003 xr400, just newer. It's not really a beginners bike, it's an entry level trail bike. Like my XR, you probably don't want to do mx tracks on it.

    • @MrGunner945
      @MrGunner945  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I think the 250F is Honda’s way of recreating the XR models only now with a smaller displacement but with more modern features like fuel injection and race bike looks.

Honestly, I think it would be just fine for you. Bike has plenty of power. It has a lot of low end torque, which makes for a good all around woods bike. If you do go with this bike I would suggest installing handlebar risers, just so your not leaning downward while riding.

I am 6’0 and can basically have my feet flat on the ground, while straddling/sitting with the bike upright. I currently weigh 227lbs ( in the process of losing weight lol) so I’m sure that causes the bike to squat a little while straddling it. It’s a super comfortable bike to ride with what seems to be plenty of power. I am very impressed and do not regret purchasing this dirt bike!

  • @575conbon

Problem with kick start on fuel injected machines is you have to turn them over enough to generate enough electricity to pressurize the fuel lines and open the injector. You thought kick starting an old bike with a dirty carb was bad, especially one with electronic ignition, kick starting a dead EFI bike would be 10x worse. Cars don't have kick starts, boats don't, jet skis don't, ATV's don't, SXS's don't, and now most dirt bikes don't either. I'm not dogging just you because every single crf250f video I've watched so far has said "man, I wish it had kick start" and I just find it funny that dirt bikers are literally the only demographic still out there that wishes they had to opportunity to kick start an EFI machine, just amuses me.
