Its pretty ironic, actually. People don't realize how far Left this country has drifted in the last 10 years or so. I'm a right-leaning Libertarian and I love this show beyond reason, but it was dubbed a 'liberal fantasy' at the time it came out. Poppycock! Toby is the conscience of the West Wing. He is the only one that will go mano a mano with the POTUS and get away with it. His position on most of the White House's initiatives are spot on and is inherent on the show. If you're not aware of this, then you're watching a different show. After all, he did win an Emmy along with the other actors except Rob Lowe. IMO, Lowe deserved to win an Emmy because it took great acting to play a Democrat on TV when you're actually a die hard republican.
