At first, you wonder how she even knew about that, and then you realize Josh must have brought it up himself at some point, which is both how she knew it and how she knew that it still bothers him after all this time. (Either that or Mandy told her.)
CJ and Danny had in my opinion one of the most enjoyable relationships on the show. I am glad they followed the natural logic that they where presenting. Such an amazing show.
Danny said the most romantic line to C.J. during the last season.... She was freaking out about their relationship and he told her that he just wanted to be included in decisions about their future... "I just wanna talk... because I like the sound of your voice"!
I love CJ. I love anytime CJ talks. I love any scene with CJ in it. Whenever there’s no CJ it’s simply a runner-up piece of the plot with back-up actors delivering an afterthought piece of script.
Few TV shows in my estimation, can equal to those of West Wing. Brilliantly acted and scripted. Wish the net works would rerun the whole series. P. S. I still want Martin Sheen for President!
“The turkey hasn’t committed a crime.” At that point you bring up how the turkey ransacked C.J.’ office, destroying documents, charge the turkey with destruction of government property, and then, PARDON THE TURKEY. Or something along those lines.
"The more photo-friendly one gets a full presidential pardon and a full life at a children's zoo, the runner up gets eaten." "If the Oscars were like that I'd watch"
I might agree with that but it also made people believe they SHOULD be competent too. Leaders and politicians like these lot (in fiction) should be our actual real world leaders inspiring us to do better everyday. But alas fiction will remain being fiction, and our real world leaders will continue being less than what they should be.
There's another myth this show made people believe: the never-ending-workday politician. I lived just a few blocks from the Capitol. When my wife would walk home from work, I would walk to meet her, and the halfway point just happened to be a the bottom of the east Capitol stairs. Let me tell you: at five o'clock, it looked liked that building was on fire. You had to stand off to the side to avoid being trampled by every level of politician and aide fleeing the grounds.
Myth no.3 that you wish was true from this show: The ones who make the best, most compelling, most eloquent argument will win. Complete bollocks. People vote for their own self interest or because of prejudice.
I liked some of CJ's comebacks because as press secretary there were times where she had to step in and make sure none of the other characters did something that would hurt them with the press.
Our real government did overhaul public and private education, but sadly, in the wrong direction. It just gets worse and worse. Now it's every kid left behind.
@@mikekz-l4h Wikipedia says Josh was Harvard undergrad, Yale Law. The actor, Bradley Whitford, was a year or two ahead of me at Wes. So, I think it’s Brads joke
The one I remember most is, “I am barely surprised”, when responding to reports of the deaths of little girls in the Mideast, when their school/dorm was burning down, but they would not be rescued unless they were fully enrobed in whatever the hell those Mideastern men deemed appropriate garb.
0:581:000:55 "elitist-Harvard-fashion-missed-the-dean's-list-two-semesters-in-a-row yankee" "i had root canal!🤪" 2:492:502:58 “first of all you're wrong, second of all shut up" and "fourth, shut up again" CJ IS SO FUNNY 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 i have another baddie(aesthetic) character now🖤

To come back at Josh, I would have gone with "Pompous, condescending, unserious, frat boy, affected-backpack-instead-of-a-briefcase, self-righteous, sexist buffoon." But you know, Sorkin did okay.
Our present politicians Think about what it takes to runthis country remind themselves to work together like this TV series. on should seethis series and realize
I e watched this show through a few times and in the first scene here you see a pistol range silhouette target in the background. This target appears many times randomly through the series run. Does anyone know why?
I showed up every week for Allison Janney. C.J. was the absolute best character and she earned every single one of those Emmys. Every. Single. One.
She’s an amazing actress with Amazing Roles. Too many to mention.
Hands down
YES
I was half way throu “I Tonya” before I realized she was the mom!
The Flamingo flies majestically
I'll bet that "missed the dean's list two times in a row" really stung.
It's so magnificent
At first, you wonder how she even knew about that, and then you realize Josh must have brought it up himself at some point, which is both how she knew it and how she knew that it still bothers him after all this time. (Either that or Mandy told her.)
"If the Oscars were like that, I'd watch." Me too.
Seriously my hero
Gotta love the last one. "Aren't I going to get a reputation for being soft on turkeys?"
Allison Janney never mailed in a performance. She was absolutely perfect in this role.
CJ and Danny had in my opinion one of the most enjoyable relationships on the show. I am glad they followed the natural logic that they where presenting. Such an amazing show.
And it was witty, fresh, fast-paced and funny. God, I miss this kind of writing.
"If the Oscars were like that, I'd watch."
Best line in the series and more true today than when it was first said over 20 years ago.
Oh yeah!
Sorkin wrote that line with his heart's blood.
instead we only get a slap
“A sekwet pwan to fight infwation?!” 😂
I know, that’s not in this video.
Ahh had woot canal!!
😂
I will never, never , never, ever tire of The West Wing! The scenes with C.J. were the best of all.
C.J's root canal episode is one of the funniest bits in the show.
Ahh had woot canal!!!
CJ is my favorite for a reason and this is just one of them
“Sounds like I got it from somebody’s paper boy” always makes me laugh
Danny and CJ make such a great couple. I loved Danny and how quietly confident he was/is when he dealt with CJ.
Danny said the most romantic line to C.J. during the last season.... She was freaking out about their relationship and he told her that he just wanted to be included in decisions about their future... "I just wanna talk... because I like the sound of your voice"!
And he gave her a goldfish.
I remember our entire church choir racing home from Wednesday night choir rehearsal in order to not miss the latest episode of West Wing.
years before, we said that about Miami Vice on Friday nights.
I so wish this show would come to Netflix again. Sooooooo good!
that last clip of c.j. basically, "please, mr president. don't let them kill the turkey!" that was the little girl inside moment.
That "I'm a whole new woman" In A Proportional Response always kills me
Hell yeah
Brilliant writing, brilliant acting. What could be better?
Amazing writing and incredible acting to deliver it.
"If the Oscars were like that, I'd watch." Wouldn't we all, though!
That is such a great line 'Am I going to get a reputation for being soft on turkeys?' 😆
I love CJ. I love anytime CJ talks. I love any scene with CJ in it. Whenever there’s no CJ it’s simply a runner-up piece of the plot with back-up actors delivering an afterthought piece of script.
The Best from the Best . Love her to bits.
CJ operates on another level - a legit Boss genius 👍
Love the chemistry between Danny and C.J. 😀
Would be great to see a West Wing reboot with CJ as President and Josh as her chief of staff!
Allison Janney is brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.
“Yeah and it’s the bathrobes that are the outrage!” always gets me. I think it’s one of the best lines of the show.
Few TV shows in my estimation, can equal to those of West Wing. Brilliantly acted and scripted. Wish the net works would rerun the whole series. P. S. I still want Martin Sheen for President!
Jeb Barlett... the greatest President we never had.
Also "Madam Secretary" too.
“The turkey hasn’t committed a crime.”
At that point you bring up how the turkey ransacked C.J.’ office, destroying documents, charge the turkey with destruction of government property, and then, PARDON THE TURKEY. Or something along those lines.
'Pardon the Turkey' bit gets me to pieces every time😂😂
this show would not have been nearly so brilliant without AJ. amazing actress, comedic and heavy drama. what a star
"If the Oscars were like that, I'd watch."
Possibly my favorite line in the entire series.
I’d actually get cable again if there were shows like this on again.
That would be odd since this was a network show.
But since I have no Tv at all, then I would have to Re subscribe
@@laurie113 You could just get a digital antenna to watch network tv. It's just a 1 time purchase instead of a monthly bill.
I have the DVDs. As C.J. would say, "Old School."
All during the Trump years, I watched reruns of West Wing and pretended Martin Sheen was president.
Me too
oh, same here!
My dad said that's how he got through the Bush years
Same! And I’m Australian
Prepared for a re-run ?
Was the root canal episode when Josh did the briefing and accidentally introduced the president’s secret plan to fight inflation?
Yes. And that the president bummed a smoke for a friend lol
Just watching it 😂😂😂😂😂🎉🎉
Yep, the secret plan that he didn’t support 😂 Josh was not good with the press.
I love the turkey episode so much! 😂😂😂
How in the world does this not include, “So! Far! Up! Your! @$$!”? That’s when you know CJ didn’t have that kind of time, Booboo.
I love that scene!
😂😂😂
"The more photo-friendly one gets a full presidential pardon and a full life at a children's zoo, the runner up gets eaten."
"If the Oscars were like that I'd watch"
The turkey bit was great 😂with the real joke that prez are ask to do so many weird things this isn't even in the top 10 of strange requests🎉
This episode is my favorite of all seasons. And I watch this episode everyday, go to dream with me every night!!!
Love this show and ER
"If the Oscars were like that I'd watch."
I wish Sorkin would write another show so much…
Me too! Best television writing ever
The newsroom
IMO, Bartlett was THE BEST President we ever had!
The first time we saw this ep I went into a coughing fit laughing so hard on "Aren't I going to get a reputation for being soft on turkeys?"
Woot canal. 😂
The interaction between C.J. and President Bartlet (6:28) is GOLD. 🤣
CJ and Danny were my second favourite couple after Jed and Abbie. Great chemistry.
Sam and Ainsley had mojo too. They just let Ainsley go far too soon.
I am going home from Walmart, where I found the whole west wing series on DVD on sale for 79:95$ !!!!
The worst thing about this show is that it made people think politicians are competent.
I might agree with that but it also made people believe they SHOULD be competent too. "aren't I gonna get a reputation for being soft on turkeys?"
“Yankee jackass!” 😂
I was so excited after my Husband jad a root canal to videotape him doing CJ’s “woot canawww” part. It was fabulous. He did AJ Justice.
0:50 I love that he said it and then REALLY regretted it!
"C.J., I have really no judicial jurisdiction over birds!" - President Jed Bartlet
You missed one. Some of CJ's finest moments were in "The Women of Qumar".
I liked some of CJ's comebacks because as press secretary there were times where she had to step in and make sure none of the other characters did something that would hurt them with the press.
Timothy Busfield and Allison Janney = absolute mastery.
"But Brutus is an honorable man"
Our real government did overhaul public and private education, but sadly, in the wrong direction. It just gets worse and worse. Now it's every kid left behind.
1:14 Josh has a Wesleyan mug on his desk. Much better than Harvard :)
Wesleyan undergrad, Harvard law.

The title should have been 'CJ and Danny.'
I was looking forward to CJ ripping Josh a new one for posting to a message board. Where's that clip?
Technically not a comeback - more of a mic drop (I love that clip too).
I loved CJ's rap.
CJ and Danny should absolutely get themselves a room... I meant a show!! 😅
OK, yeah, I had a big crush on CJ, big whoop, wanna fightaboudit?
We all need to keep aspiring.

It's insane how much isn't studied or analysed by media scholars when it comes to cj cregg
Can we PLEASE GET THIS SERIES ON BLURAY??? 😅🙏🙏🙏
I’m so glad her and Danny ended up together 😁
Greatest role for any female ever
Everyone loves a good comeback.
I so loved this lol
I watched "The Creator" on the weekend and she was great in it!
Mom in the TV show MOM and the voice of Kaiser Permanente
Woot Canal. LOL
Damn right Im good in Bed, I think that was one of her best lines. Where is it?
I hate danny and what he did to CJ's character. the dude was OBVIOUSLY only cozying up to her for exclusives and the fact that she either couldn't see it, or tell him to take a hike when it became obvious counted HEAVILY against her confidant, and COMPTANT demeanor to me, and was one of the factors in why I couldn't continue with the show
They get married tho
Huh?! Which show did you watch?
So, uh, what *is* the difference between genocide and acts of genocide?
To come back at Josh, I would have gone with "Pompous, condescending, unserious, frat boy, affected-backpack-instead-of-a-briefcase, self-righteous, sexist buffoon." But you know, Sorkin did okay.
Love C.J., hate Danny Concannon. Such a slimy, weasel-y character. Why she would end up with him is mind numbing.
Full disclosure, I've not turned on a TV in probably 3 years but I could be tempted to if they made shows like this again. Do they?
Too cool
2:34- 3:18 beautiful walk-and-talk.
I enjoyed one of the lesser characters, Amy Gardner played by M.L. Parker
love
C.J is the best
Our present politicians
Think about what it takes to runthis country remind themselves to work together like this TV series.
on should seethis series and realize
Any reason most of these involve Danny? Lol
Why does Josh have a target on his wall? It can't be because he shoots in his free time.
7:00 - Me too.
She reminds me of s classmates in highschool Morrison
I e watched this show through a few times and in the first scene here you see a pistol range silhouette target in the background. This target appears many times randomly through the series run. Does anyone know why?
Allison Janney 🦒🤗
CJ Cregg 2024!
Back when the press was the press and not entertainment news.
The real life ones sure don't come across as this smart or witty.
