Can I say something, this is so crazy because I feel like we lived the same lives. God told me to start a podcast in 2018 and I started but I stopped in 2020, late last year and early this year I’ve been meeting strangers asking me about the podcast. I just knew it was God leading me back to it, I kept wondering it’s been so long and I’ve been away for so long. How do I go back to it? Where do I begin? And something very significant you said, I was also using my phone to record at that time and recording Under my sheets 😂 and i enjoyed it! Wow wow! This is so amazing! My podcast is for women though ❤️ I’m currently away from socials for the next 90days and today is my day 1! I came online for Bible study and I see your video and you answered all my questions! I'm in a season where I'm submitting my career/businesses/finances to God and learning to walk in His will. Absolutely beautiful! I love the concept and I love talking/ hearing discussions about God! I am so happy that you are walking within your purpose sis! I have a little story to share myself regarding listening to God. I was travelling home from a night shift this morning. I'm an ITU nurse btw. I was exhausted and tired and just wanted to sit down and get home. When i entered the train I saw this man sitting on the floor, it looked as though he was drunk/drug user. I noticed a lot of people avoided sitting near him and that distance between the man and the other people made me also want to distance myself. He was literally isolated. I did feel bad avoiding him. The scene felt like the good samaritan in 4k as I observed people glance at the man and intentionaly avoid him. I kept looking back at the person and started to get worried that he wasn't moving or doing anything. God started talking to me and I was like no God, please i'm tired. Can't it be someone else. It's not easy approaching a stranger that looks potentially dangerous. The voice was so persistent. I didn't want to be the one to take the initiative because it was clear nobody wanted to get involved. I eventually plucked up the courage to go towards the man and tried to help. For the nurses out there his GCS was 3/15. Then two other people joined me in helping the man. Long story short we helped the man get medical assistance but it just goes to show the power of God and listening to what he called you to do. God's timing is everything

Hi Buku! OMG I relate to what you said so much! I've recently gone through the same thing of finally doing what I felt like God was telling me to do. I love to read, I've been building a collection of Nigerian novels at home for some years now, and last year, some friends encouraged me to start an African book Instagram page and be a book influencer. I didn't want to because I'm not a huge social media person, don't know the first thing about being an "influencer", and felt like there are already so many book influencers, my contribution to this field is not necessary or worth anything. For months, the idea kept disturbing me, and I was praying to God, asking if it was Him encouraging me to do it, and I kind of felt like He was. One evening in July, I was crying while praying about the idea, and I was listing reasons why I couldn't do it, and I told God that I'm not creative enough to sustain a social media page, and INSTANTLY He started dropping a bunch of possible post/video ideas in my head. I was writing them down in my Notes app for like 30 min to an hour straight, it was so sudden. I felt like God was telling me "hey, creativity comes from ME. If I'm the one telling you to do this, then I'm going to sustain you." And that evening, I decided I would eventually make the book Insta page. I kept praying and asking God for confirmation about the page and He kept giving it to me over the next few months. Some months later, I was watching Pastor Charles Metcalf on the Elevation Youth Podcast and he was talking about creativity coming from God. He was discussing fashion specifically and said that if God is the ultimate creator and source of creativity, then there are racks of clothes in Heaven that aren't yet on earth, and that God drops a fashion idea into someone's head, and that's how a new product is made, and that's exactly how I felt with my encounter with God, that He was dropping ideas from Heaven, not on earth yet, into my mind for me to do. Yes, creating an insta page or making a podcast aren't "new" ideas, but like you said Buku, you never know how you're going to impact someone with your words or products, you could inspire someone in a new way. I kept on seeing your vid in my YT feed over the past few weeks, and after chatting with my brother about my book page today, I finally decided to watch your video, and felt so affirmed when you called God your 'Creative Director', I now have a title for how God plays a role in my book page! So I started my page Jan 1 this year! I post about African novels and I write book reviews. I pray before I write my reviews, asking God to help me write something quality and express my personality and reading experience well, like you said, including God in the creative process. @bolureads on Instagram if anyone is interested! I've been in a pattern of putting myself down for imaginery fears. Thank you so much for dropping this. I would've loved this 5 years ago but again maybe this is the best time to have recieved it given the path hes laid out for me and my tendency to never come back to good resources after the first time maybe God knew. I didn't want to be the one to take the initiative because it was clear nobody wanted to get involved. I eventually plucked up the courage to go towards the man and tried to help. For the nurses out there his GCS was 3/15. Then two other people joined me in helping the man. Long story short we helped the man get medical assistance but it just goes to show the power of God and listening to what he called you to do. God's timing is everything

Hi Buku! OMG I relate to what you said so much! I've recently gone through the same thing of finally doing what I felt like God was telling me to do. I love to read, I've been building a collection of Nigerian novels at home for some years now, and last year, some friends encouraged me to start an African book Instagram page and be a book influencer. I didn't want to because I'm not a huge social media person, don't know the first thing about being an "influencer", and felt like there are already so many book influencers, my contribution to this field is not necessary or worth anything. For months, the idea kept disturbing me, and I was praying to God, asking if it was Him encouraging me to do it, and I kind of felt like He was. One evening in July, I was crying while praying about the idea, and I was listing reasons why I couldn't do it, and I told God that I'm not creative enough to sustain a social media page, and INSTANTLY He started dropping a bunch of possible post/video ideas in my head. I was writing them down in my Notes app for like 30 min to an hour straight, it was so sudden. I felt like God was telling me "hey, creativity comes from ME. If I'm the one telling you to do this, then I'm going to sustain you." And that evening, I decided I would eventually make the book Insta page. I kept praying and asking God for confirmation about the page and He kept giving it to me over the next few months.
Some months later, I was watching Pastor Charles Metcalf on the Elevation Youth Podcast and he was talking about creativity coming from God. He was discussing fashion specifically and said that if God is the ultimate creator and source of creativity, then there are racks of clothes in Heaven that aren't yet on earth, and that God drops a fashion idea into someone's head, and that's how a new product is made, and that's exactly how I felt with my encounter with God, that He was dropping ideas from Heaven, not on earth yet, into my mind for me to do. Yes, creating an insta page or making a podcast aren't "new" ideas, but like you said Buku, you never know how you're going to impact someone with your words or products, you could inspire someone in a new way. I kept on seeing your vid in my YT feed over the past few weeks, and after chatting with my brother about my book page today, I finally decided to watch your video, and felt so affirmed when you called God your 'Creative Director', I now have a title for how God plays a role in my book page!
So I started my page Jan 1 this year! I post about African novels and I write book reviews. I pray before I write my reviews, asking God to help me write something quality and express my personality and reading experience well, like you said, including God in the creative process. @bolureads on Instagram if anyone is interested! Hearing your story is so warm and inspiring. I have been saying I wanted to create a blog for years now and God has kept it on my heart. The enemy has told me it will fail and I can’t write. I've been in a pattern of putting myself down for imaginery fears. Thank you so much for dropping this. I would've loved this 5 years ago but again maybe this is the best time to have recieved it given the path hes laid out for me and my tendency to never come back to good resources after the first time maybe God knew. Please keep going i need the conversations from black woman creatives and seeing the strength and vulnerabiity and seeing the tmethod of doing it with CHrist is sooo important.
