    "I only have to look at this window for long enough and it will scratch". Perfect encapsulation of the "fun" of plastic caravan windows in one sentence! Got some scratches on my drivers side where there is absolutely zero chance that it scratched a hedge or anything else and yet none on the other side where I did have to inch past a tall hedgerow having "met" a Coachman coming the other way up a hilly Cornish lane. PS Wonderful to see you back regularly and looking really good :)

      Thank you Becky, glad to be "doing stuff" and watching scratches appear lol. Feeling better - not out the woods yet, more chemicals coming my way at the end of Feb - so content may drop off again.

    Always a good day when you post a new Trudgians video Dan, in the Spring I'll be getting ours washed up and some sort or paint seal / ceramic coating applied, as it's a 2011 Bailey preparation is everything. I can then quickly (ish) wet wash but will likely get some dry wash to do windows on site, plus the front if it's got mucky en route. Thanks.

    Thanks Dan, to me waterless dose just not seem right. The dirt in the air is abrasive, so to wash it off first always seems right to me.
    Not sure how true this is, but I was told when washing microfibre cloths not to use fabric softener, as this dose something to the microfibres.

    Nice to see you back on the circuit . I personally, wouldn’t recommend any waterless cleaner. The acrylic windows are prone to scratches and clean water is the best safe way to clean them with.

    Costco are a great for microfibre clothes. They do a huge pack for about £20. I too use paint brushes for cleaning too and thought the same about the metal parts. I wrapped a couple of rings of insulation tape around it. I’ve done the same on my long reach wash brush so there are no sharpe surfaces exposed

    Hi ,
    Purchased the Dry Sparkle caravan cleaner after watching your review. It might be worth letting everyone know that it doesn’t touch black streaks and I mean doesn’t touch them. A wet cloth had as much effect. Your review was on your van with paint seal finish which allows the black streaks to come off with water. I see the company makes a separate black streak remover.
    Love you channel

    • @TheTrudgians
      @TheTrudgians  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Car polish. I used Meguires "Step 2" Polish (amzn.to/3srXjuj) for years on the Lunar, then I finished it with a wax to protect the surface. Use with a couple of clean micro fibre cloths when cleaning and make sure the window is clean and dry before you start.

    Top video as always Dan.
    Buddy you should be using a product from in2detailing called Optimum no rinse (onr). 40 ml makes 10ltrs. Super cheap at 8.95.
    And don't skimp on microfibre either.
    70/30 mix cloths.
    Have an awesome day.

      @agent699 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Agreed Wesley.
      It's one product I can't be without. It tailors nicely with All my Bilt Hamber products too.
      I can also swear by Autoglym's rapid ceramic detailer spray. Dirt and detritus just falls off my clubman. Which to be fair is never allowed to get dirty.

  • @SyncMan172
    @SyncMan172 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video Dan. Just out of interest, we get those dark streaks down the side of the van but they are difficult to get off. Sometimes a wash does not shift them. Any recommendations?

    • @TheTrudgians
      @TheTrudgians  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, yes indeed, a specific black streak / tar remover will do the job - go careful if you have had a coating on the caravan - harsh chemicals can remove it. Dry Sparkle do a tar / black streak remover if that helps.
      Take care

    • @TheTrudgians
      @TheTrudgians  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Les, I usually wash the micro fibres with tea towels / hand towels from the bathrooms at home. I tend to put them on a hotter wash, with fabric softner etc - however i dont tumble dry them, i drape them in the airing cupboard.

    Would love to see a video of how you clean under the solar panel on the roof. Can't get anything to go under it and the green algae etc. is building up considerably. It's driving me that nuts that I'm considering refusing to have one on the next van, even it comes as standard.

    • @TheTrudgians
      @TheTrudgians  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      sure, although we find a garden bamboo stick, wrapped with a torn up microfibre cloth fits well underneath. If that doesn't work for you, try something thinner like a long ruler, again wrapped in a microfibre cloth.

    Interesting video & thanks for posting, but to be perfectly honest I wouldn't waterless wash ANYTHING. Car, boat, caravan - if water isn't available, leave it until water is available. Far too easy to inflict scratches, marrs & swirls onto bodywork & windows, regardless what the manufacturers state. Its just not worth the risk

    • @TheTrudgians
      @TheTrudgians  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, 4 years I’ve used waterless and I challenge anyone to find a scratch on any part of the caravans and cars I’ve owned. - to be fair, I was just as sceptical before I used them, proper use and prep is really the name of the game and not for heavy dirt 👍
