    This is even better than the regular multi band compressor for creating space fie vocal🙌🏻🙌🏻

    1:33 "ok, that sounds pretty good as it is but.."
    Me, yes! It sounds sweet and great. Is it something more that can be done? Let's hear then what this mid side eqing is.

    I'm confused...you said you don't want to affect the middle because that's where your lead vocals are, then you went for a mid only eq and started ducking the middle. 3:04

    • @tycaskey
      @tycaskey  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      J g Hey! Sorry for the confusion. Using a dynamic eq like the F6 allows for a bit more flexibility because it brings the frequencies back when the source audio (vocals in this case) are not playing. You shouldn’t notice a huge difference using this technique in subtle amount with the stock eq in logic. If you need to create more space, you can automate the eq, or sidechain it with a compressor to adjust the volume. Hopefully that helps clarify. Thanks for checking out the video!

    • @Jg-be7it
      @Jg-be7it 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tycaskey lol, sorry, but no. That didn't address my confusion at all. On the stock eq, you said "my vocals are panned to the middle, so I don't want to affect the middle" then you immediately switched the eq to mid and ducked the middle. It's at 3:04.
      Did you misspeak or am I not understanding what you're trying to accomplish?

    • @tycaskey
      @tycaskey  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yes. I’m taking the middle information out of all the instruments, not the vocals. In the video I explain how I route all the instruments to a separate bus. When I take the middle information out with eq, the vocals do not change, as they are on a separate bus. When I said “I don’t always want the middle info gone,” I’m referring to the instrument bus. Does that make sense?

    • @artiffalin
      @artiffalin 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Jg-be7it i think he wanted to say that he does not want the middle information from the beat to be always out so that s why he used dynamiq eq. Middle info from the beat is out a bit only when vocals are playing. When there are no vocals playing, the middle is unaffected, like sidechain.
      But yea, he said he does not want the mid info to be affected forever, he wants them affected periodically and that cannot be noticed because of the leads. He s not wrong

      @@artiffalin He misspoke, or didn't know what he was saying, then tried to word salad around it.
