Republic Records released this soundtrack.The confidence that they showed putting Angelina's Mercy as the first song to open the movie speaks volumes of the respect that they have in this 15 year old vocal powerhouse.
Since Republic Records is not in the business of producing movies I believe that wasnt their decision. At best they called in some favors or did some deal. They probably simply brought her name up when working with the movie guys, she did a demo and they choose her on their own.

There are other Norwegian singers on the soundtrack as well. Maybe Stargate were the ones that gave her this job? Edit: ah interesting. Dagny is also on republic, and Astrid S is on UMG.

Another step in the right direction for Angelina, and still only 15! Loved hearing her singing this a cappella in the underground carpark back in August, maybe after the recording session for the movie soundtrack? At first I thought it was very similar to the original. The more I listened to, the clearer the differences become and all the typical and wonderful variations Angelina puts in with her vocals, the lines and the beat. The little breathy raspy rap is just fun! Thanks for the reaction!
Angelina always makes it her own. And that raspy, breathy tone is her signature. I'm not a fan of rap, but when mixed with the music and vocal, it's stunning!

she had teased us fans a month or so ago with a Tik Tok version,,, quite well on a cell phone. I still wish she did same for , what many feel as her best Tik Tok vid clip, Queen's LOVE OF MY LIFE.. hoping it hits her first album. Slow side.
This song needs a 60’s Go-Go Dancers Club milieu video. Takes me back to my teen years dancing at clubs. Go Angelina, love it.
She nails any genre she sings.
I loved this track by Duffy when it first came out and here again Angeliya adds her own style/vocals and freshened it up a bit, its fantastic. These are the sort of breaks thats needed in the industry so lets hope it works for her. Thanks for reacting.

It’s another surprise Angelina that knocks us back regularly, but it’s the same talent: amazing vocal control, a unique voice, beautiful enunciation throughout the vocal gymnastics, originality, and complete authenticity for whatever genre she chooses. You guys regularly say that her voice fits the song. No-it’s the other way around.

Listening to this, my shoulders took on a life of there own, just awesomeness.

I did listen to quite a few female singers attempting to cover Adele's Easy on Me. Some good, some ok, some kinda bad. Betcha none of them could make a leap to covering this Mercy this well like AJ. This little one is so versatile.
I did too. But none can match Angelina's cover of "Easy on Me". It's as good as Adele's original. Here's the thing. Angelina can cover ANY song and often it's better than the original, and always just as good. But more and more young singers are attempting to cover Angelina's versions, and we see just how incredibly talented Angelina is. I have yet to see a singer even come close to duplicating Angelina's version on any of the songs they are attempting to cover. That's when you can really see that Angelina is truly a Phenom!

This is a complete surprise.... she's a shocker. And yet she sings in this style so easily it sounds perfectly natural for her. (I once swore that I'd hate to hear our Angelina rap. Now, I'm not so sure about that)

That is correct. The Norwegian artists Astrid S and Dagny also sing in the movie, and both are with RR.
I may be wrong, but I believe that the rest of the music in the movie is also performed by RR artists.

What a win/win situation. Great break for Angelina, as they open the movie with this song, so she is front and center with this Fantastic performance. And how lucky are they to have a talent like Angelina perform this song to give the movie a big boost right from the beginning. I love it when everybody wins. Also, I listened to Duffy's version, and she just doesn't have that same raspy tone. Not that one is better than the other. Their tone is just quite different. And I just watched this as the opening song in the movie, and it's Terrific!! Always great to see you guys react to Angelina. You're the best! Also, since she's under contract with Republic Records, I'm guessing that they brokered this deal and that it was done in their studio.
Very good point. I see it the same way. RR is the lucky party here. Angelina"s management has apparently been turning down offers from interested labels left and right. Angelina is a force of nature and would have taken the world with our without RR I believe. Angelina is a gold nugget for sure. 🙂
@@poolhallshark There's a lot of self-serving record label's that are only there to use young talent for their own profit. And from what I can tell, RR is not one of them. Of course, a major reason they invested in Angelina is because of the commodity that she is. And when all is said and done, it is still a business. But I truly believe they are in it for the long haul with Angelina. They are not rushing her, because that was the deal they made with the family. And from what I can see from the interaction they have with her, they really care for both her success and well-being. The one that's probably trying to break loss is Angelina. She has always known what she wants, and as she becomes a young woman, it will be very hard to hold her back. But Angelina has her head on straight and a great support system. We've all known that she would someday become a shooting star. Maybe that time has come.

In the first release of this soundtrack you can see there are a lot of producers working on this and Rob Christie is listened as her vocal producer. They spend a lot of studio time together the last time. I hope we see more at the beginning of the new year 🙏😍🎥

Only issue I have with this cover is that her voice is not loud enough compared with the instruments, BigAngliefan made a reaction and had us listen to the song twice, once the original and the second an edited version where he mixed her voice louder, it was much much better.
I still loved her tiktok version accapella in a garage more because her voice is warmer than in this new one but I suppose that she had less artistic control here because it's for the movie.

While there's no video available here - back in August Kaleidoscope RMX had released a "virtual duet" video of Duffy & Angelina singing different parts of Mercy. Interesting that Angelina is recorded with her usual incredible vocals as she's casually walking through a parking garage. :) Maybe the precursor to Angelina's performance in the movie. I felt both their ratings were weak. 8.7 and 8.9?? Other than Angelina wouldn't have had control about how loud the instruments were, I can't see anything to drop this down that far.
I’m a huge Angelina’s fan but I have to agree with their scores and it has nothing to do with Angelina’s performance. The mix is terrible. The music is way too loud and it is drowning her vocals. Big thumbs up to Angelina and thumbs down to the sound technicians.

It's more than a little different from this one you just reacted to, more straight up. This soundtrack version is something else, with hr doing all the voices on the track. I must be one of only two people on Earth who isn't bowled over by Angelina's voice. Yes, she is a great talent and she's getting better and better. This song is quite different and really liked her high register, but there are times when her voice is not so pleasant to my ear. Just being honest. As has been said -everyone can't like everything.

I somewhat agree with you but think it's because we have always heard Angelina Raw and Unproduced. Post Production does take away the rawness we love from Angelina 💕
I don't see why anyone should hate on you. You didn't try to belittle or insult Angelina with your comment. We all have different tastes when it comes to music, which is why there are so many different types of music out there. For me personally, Angelina's voice just hits the spot.
